Local Atmosphere: Tourist Town With Lots to Do. Central Florida has tons to do if you have the money and a way to get there.

3 College Freshman

Majors: I Have Never Had an Internship – I Have Never Had An Internship, but I plan on participating in one one day. I have heard great things about them.

5 College Freshman

Computers: I love the fact that it's nothing for the best for their students, including the electronics they allow us to use.

5 College Freshman

Academics: The Endless Variety – There are so many things you can do on campus, including extracurricular activities, places to eat, things to see, and places to go have fun!

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: Costly Dinning – The dinning here is ok at the dinning hall it is about $8.50 for a buffet style meal but the food is not that great to be honest its probably better just to eat of campus

4 College Freshman

Drug Safety: Campus has a zero tolerance policy for drugs. Those who are old enough can drink, but you're just asking to get busted if you drink underage.

4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: I feel pretty safe walking around at night. Although the campus is open, there are measures put in place, such as the campus police, that make me feel more secure.

3 College Senior

Scholarships: I have received both the Bright Futures Scholarship and the UCF Pegasus Scholarship. Although I supposedly got 100% bright futures, it hasn't exactly covered my entire tuition, even with the scholarship I received from the school. I would recommend to future students to apply for as many scholarships as possible.

Greek Life: As a former member of the Greek system, I've seen both sides of the spectrum. Greek life is definitely growing but it's nowhere near that of other large universities. Most Greeks work at local bars and clubs downtown. Frat parties aren't as big as you might think. There is definitely an advantage to being Greek such as knowing the bartender and always having a study group for classes, but they are pretty excepting of "independents."

Local Atmosphere: The University of Central Florida is known for being a large party school, however, I have had somewhat of a different experience. Although there are several local bars and downtown Orlando is only 20 minutes away, there is so much else to do here! Winter park is near Rollins college and close by. It is beautiful at night and has several shops and restaurants. Disney and Universal Studios are close and tickets are discounted for students. The Mall at Millenia is an amazing shopping experience, as are the multiple outlets nearby. There are several beaches within a half hour distance too. Campus life is just as fun as the local attractions! The school spirit is amazing as our school sports are doing so well. Our campus gym is awesome and has just been remodeled. It includes an indoor track and rock climbing wall. UCF is definitely growing into an amazing school and I would recommend it to anyone looking for lots to do!

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: Wide Variety – There is a wide variety of off campus housing, some even student affiliated that are very good, however they can run a bit pricey, especially because you'll have to pay for all of the utilities.

5 College Freshman

Health & Safety: Security Is Winning. Even though UCF is an open campus, meaning there are no gates or barriers, the university has made sure that it's students are safe- from the cameras to the constant police patrol... it is a very safe environment!

4 College Junior

Health & Safety: Safety Measures – Police are present, school provides contact numbers to reach them. There are various light poles around campus equipped with buttons to press that campus police respond to immediately.

4 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: Orlando Atmosphere-Wise! The atmosphere is very laid-back and welcoming, there are plenty of things for students to do in their free-time, seeing as every major theme park that's located in Florida is IN Orlando- that's not very hard to imagine. The shopping malls and plazas are also fantastic, and there are always plenty of events and concerts happening to keep the city alive!

5 College Senior

Scholarships: The financial aid process was very easy. I just dislike the fact that you have to be 24 in order to be considered an independent when I dont even live no where near my parents. I would suggest applying for financial aid as soon as your parents have done their taxes.

3 College Senior

Guys & Girls: Diverse and Unique – Everyone at my school is different in their own way. There are students from all over the state of Florida. The guys are nerds. The girls are really pretty and friendly.

5 College Sophomore

Majors: The process of getting into my molecular & microbiology major was not difficult at all. After you have been accepted, UCF sends you a form to fill out on what you plan on majoring in. After you submit that form, you are in the major and begin working on your core classes ASAP.

5 College Sophomore

Diversity: The UCF campus is very diverse. There are plenty of international students everywhere on campus, with a multitude of different cultures/beliefs. UCF is tolerant of everyone, and is against discrimination of any kind.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Dining: There are plenty of places to choose to eat from and UCF offers a diverse variety of food. The prices are fair and the food quality is great.

4 College Sophomore

Nightlife: Going Out Is Easy and Common – Near UCF are a few hot spots such as "Knight Library" "Fubar" and "Deko". There are safe ride vouchers offered to students that can act as a taxi coupon (for up to 35$). Downtown are many options as well. Close to UCF, it is really easy to go out underage. Most places let people in at 18 and getting drinks is not too hard. Clubs downtown are for any taste (one spans three floors and each one is a different theme: Chillers/Rooftop Tiki). Many people go out. There are also ALWAYS house parties going on around the area. The police off-campus tend to be chill unless you're being stupid.

4 College Sophomore

Computers: Wireless Is Accessible Almost Everywhere – Wireless on campus is literally everywhere. The only reason it doesn't get an "A+" is that in some of the residence halls on campus, wireless has not been installed just yet. Other than that, it is excellent, fast, and completely reliable.

4 College Senior

Facilities: Small and Unique – I like the fact that this campus is small. The class sizes are also small which makes me feel closer and more inclined to work with my peers. Additionally, the small class size allows for more one on one time with professors which is great! Lastly, because the campus is small, it is easy and quick to get from building to building or class to class.

3 College Senior

Transportation: There is a frequent transit bus stop in front of this campus. The campus is fairly small, so it is easy accessible. The cost for the transportation is cheap. Other than the transit bus people have to have a car, bike, or taxi in order to travel far distances.

4 College Senior

Diversity: Most of the students at this campus are white, however there are many people of other races as well. This campus is very accepting in people who have disabilities. I feel very safe and comfortable at this campus.

5 College Junior

Facilities: The School to Go to – It's a big school with an enormous amount of activities to do. Tons of clubs and some awesome classes and professors. The location is great, but again, the best thing is being involved.

UCF is growing by leaps and bounds. The students love to hang out, and they all know how to have a good time. There’s so much to do and there’s something for everyone. Do you really need any more reasons to go to college in Florida?

Orlando is an exciting city with tons of attractions and activities available to all. In many ways, going to school at UCF resembles a four-year vacation (Disney on Sunday, classes on Monday!). Downtown Orlando on a Friday night can, at times, seem like Mardi Gras, and City Walk on a Saturday night isn’t to be missed. Also, Floridians are welcoming and friendly and most students at UCF make friends quickly and easily. Friendly faces and sunny skies, what more could a college student ask for? The stellar academics, up-and-coming sports teams, and state-of-the-art facilities are reason enough to spend the next four years of your life at UCF; the city of Orlando is just one big fringe benefit. Come join us!
