Facilities: Friendliness Is the Key – Knights are by far the FRIENDLIEST people you'll met. I remember walking through UF and FSU's campus with no one willing to help or wanting to start a conversation. While walking through UCF random people will start a conversation with you or if someone see's you look lost they are willing to help you find your way. UCF is the second biggest campus in the nation therefore a helping had is often needed. The campus is constantly creating events and games in order for students to interact with other students giving people a chance to make friends. Who wouldn't want to go to a college like that?

Overall Experience: You Can Have It All. My experiences thus far has been amazing. My roommate is my best friend, although many people may think that it was a bad idea i don't regret it one bit. Rooming with your best friend is great as long as you both keep an opened communication and are willing to compromise in some situations. The school is full of activities and there's many choices to pick from everyday, the best part is that its all for free. So far my favorite event has been KnightRave and a concert. For the days that i don't feel like 'going out' into a noise party and want to have some time alone there is always nature trails i can walk around Lake Claire. Not to mention our great gym with all its high tech equipment and its amazing classes. There is never a boring day at UCF and this is why i love being here.

Campus Housing: The Knight Way to Live. Dorm life in UCF is as good as it gets. Hercules and Nike dorms were recently build and have a new retro feeling to them. The dorm includes a bathroom only shared by four people instead of a community bathroom that you may get anywhere else. The first floor comes with high sealing and a a good proximity to the pool and the gym. The only down side to living in the best dorms at UCF is that the classes are a 10 to 20 minute walk away, which can be easily fixed by riding a bike or a skateboard to class. The student union is in the center of the school, giving all students an easy access to them from every direction.

Overall Experience: Being a new student in a new city, it's a little intimidating. However, I don't feel like a number here. I'm really happy with my decision to attend UCF.

Guys & Girls: The Reason I Came – The campus is beautiful here. The scenery is more relaxing than any school I visited. I live on campus and my favorite thing to do is walk around and explore. There are countless wonders here.

Facilities: Great library, the only problem is that it closes at 1 am most nights. The Rec and Wellness Center (gym) is stocked with great machines and plenty to go around, as well as a lap pool, rock-climbing wall, and plenty of weights. The student union always has activities going on and good restaurants to eat at at all times.

Weather: Since I am a Freshman beginning my Fall term, I've only had the chance to experience the heat. But let's be honest, no matter where you are in Florida during this time of year it's a scorcher. Walking to class can be difficult at times because it is so hot out, you're drenched in sweat by the time you arrive. Apparently, it is the perfect temperature here in the winter time.

3 College Junior

Computers: Good Resources Available – Labs are always available for free, fast printing as long as it's under 20 pages. They can be crowded during peak hours, but usually there isn't more than a 30 minute wait during the morning or evening times.

4 College Junior

Health & Safety: Definitely Safe – UCF has some of the best safety measures I've ever heard of. Walking back to my dorm from the library late at night never scared me because of programs such as SEPS, in which you call a number and you get escorted anywhere on campus for free. There's always police officers patrolling and the campus is well-lit and contains many emergency resources.

Campus Housing: On-Campus Living – Choosing to live on campus was probably one of the best decisions I made prior to beginning Fall term.I live in apartment style dorms, which means I have my own room and we have a kitchen, so I didn't have to buy a meal plan, I can just cook on my own. Waking up and going to class is a breeze, I can walk there in a matter of fifteen minutes max and our campus is beautiful. Finally, I live right next to the gym where I can freely take as many gym classes as are offered as long as I reserve a spot.

Guys & Girls: The Face Is Changing – More and more the face of the typical student is not the young 20 year old going to grad school before getting their first job. There are more aged faces, even some wrinkled ones, signifying UCF's commitment to higher education for everyone.

Campus Housing: Second Hand Advice – Since I personally don't live on campus I can only share what I know from my friends that live on campus, and how much easier it is than trying to get onto campus and find parking before your first class! It's almost worth the extra expense!

5 College Senior

Computers: IT Techs Are the Best! When I have tech problems I just call the help desk and these guys are amazing! They tell me what I am doing wrong and how to fix it, and they do it in a way that is not condescending, not making me sound like an idiot for not knowing how to do something that turns out usually to be so simple. The techies keep ucf current with advancements and secure. I always feel safe when interacting with or at UCF's connected life.

2 College Senior

Facilities: Variety of Programs – Another reason why I went to UCF is because the variety of programs. UCF offers a lot of programs, allowing almost anyone to find their ideal course of study. Some programs I find are too big and try to weed students out, others are way too small and offer little opportunities for students. I am enrolled in the latter. Campus life is okay, a lot of students are involved in Greek life.

3 College Senior

Local Atmosphere: Orlando, Fl Atmosphere – Orlando is centered in the heart of Florida, and one of the reasons why I decided to attend UCF is due to the amount the Orlando region has to offer. Many of my friends work at theme parks from Universal to Disney, and many of my classmates are obsessed with the amount of theme parks local to the school. Once a year UCF gives free tickets for one night at the theme parks too. UCF is located near large outlet malls, regular malls, and even small shopping centers. Hitting the mall is not an issue at UCF. Activities, I feel it is hard to find one that isn't filled with tourists. Since my 2 years here I have seen Blue Man Group, gone jet skiing, went to St. Augustine, the Central Florida zoo, local clubs, to downtown disney, hit the asian markets, downtown Orlando, attend an orchestra, and more. Orlando is filled with many small restaurants, many which are my current favorites. Some are small and pricey, and others are great in price. Orlando has the best food for any price! For sports, I have yet to attend a sporting event here (besides UCF events which are a blast), and never been to a cultural event. Safety can be an issue, especially in downtown orlando, and campus affiliated housings. We are always emailed about crime local to the school. I don't notice a local attitude towards students, don't know if it's good or bad.

3 College Senior

Drug Safety: Not to Bad – Its college, a good chuck of the kids are using something of some kind. Still, nothing is done out in the open, and I never seen it outside the dorms.

4 College Senior

Facilities: Excellent Facilites – All of the facilities at the campus are well maintained.

4 College Senior

Health & Safety: Very Safe Campus – The Campus is very safe, and well patrolled by Police.

4 College Junior

Facilities: Big City University – A lot of clubs to join. Theme parks and fun attractions within driving distance of campus.

3 College Junior

Athletics: Getting Bigger – Football team is getting bigger and better. Just won their first bowl game in the past year. Students are getting more involved in the sports.

3 College Junior

Guys & Girls: Nothing Too Exciting – Everyone looks pretty average, nothing too eccentric. Everyone is pretty friendly towards each other.

4 College Junior

Campus Housing: The Towers – I LOVE living at the Towers on campus. It is a little pricey, but it is in a great location and it is so easy living on campus. I have my own room here, a kitchen, and a living room. It's great!

3 College Senior

Parking: Parking can be hectic during certain times of the day, but over-all not so bad. They have added more and more parking zones i.e. garages to accomodate increases in enrollment numbers. Watch out for tickets though! Parking services at UFC are strict, organized, and will ticket you whenever possible.

3 College Senior

Greek Life: I would say that Greek life at UCF is pretty valued and most definitely has a presence on Campus. Some Sororities and Fraternities have houses on campus. Some have houses off-campus.

UCF is growing by leaps and bounds. The students love to hang out, and they all know how to have a good time. There’s so much to do and there’s something for everyone. Do you really need any more reasons to go to college in Florida?

Orlando is an exciting city with tons of attractions and activities available to all. In many ways, going to school at UCF resembles a four-year vacation (Disney on Sunday, classes on Monday!). Downtown Orlando on a Friday night can, at times, seem like Mardi Gras, and City Walk on a Saturday night isn’t to be missed. Also, Floridians are welcoming and friendly and most students at UCF make friends quickly and easily. Friendly faces and sunny skies, what more could a college student ask for? The stellar academics, up-and-coming sports teams, and state-of-the-art facilities are reason enough to spend the next four years of your life at UCF; the city of Orlando is just one big fringe benefit. Come join us!
