5 College Junior

Facilities: General Campus – UCF is so modern and always growing. The facilities, such as the rec and wellness center, the library, and the office of student involvement are great opportunities to study and get invovled.

5 College Junior

Academics: Academic Resources – UCF offers so many tools to succeed. Student Academic Resource Center, professors are always available and willing to help students, and the studennt union and "All Knight Study" are great places to study 24 hours of the day, seven days a week!

4 College Sophomore

Majors: I'd Love an Internship! They have a great system at the University of Central Florida called Experiental Learning Center, a great resource for finding internships. I'm trying to get set up with a paid internship. I feel like the campus will do everything they can to help.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Dining: Everything You Could Want – If there is one thing that University of Central Florida has, it's dining. There is a place for every type of food, and more times than not, more than just one place. Excellent choice and service.

3 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: Relatively Safe – University of Central Florida is a great place, full of beautiful areas and security is tight. Still, however, there have been reports of things happening that go under the radar, and it creates a slight worriment in my mind.

5 College Junior

Majors: I had no difficulties getting into my program. I declared it and got accepted because I had good grades.

4 College Junior

Facilities: The UCF Library is awesome. The only thing that is not as good about campus is the parking. But the Student Union is awesome and the other buildings are great.

4 College Junior

Health & Safety: I Feel Safe – I have never felt unsafe on UCF's campus. I always see a police presence and have no fear walking about campus even at night.

2 College Junior

Scholarships: Hard Work – It is hard sometimes when your parents make over most of the limits for financial aid but people do not realize that most students support themselves and I know from trying it is hard sometimes to get financial aid thats needed

3 College Junior

Overall Experience: School Experience – This was my first time moving out this year being that it is my Junior year and so far so good. UCF maybe a school in the making but it has a lovely campus and off-campus and nightlife is not that bad. I have really enjoyed going to school here and bettering myself for my future

4 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: Alcohol Awareness – The campus is strict on alcohol use. Before you begin your semester as a freshmen you are required to take a short online course on the use of alcohol. Inspections are done periodically in the dorms and your residence assistant will cover the topic.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: Apartment Dorms – Apartment dorms are the only type open for the Rosen Hospitality campus. They are really great with nice features including, a kitchen with a bar, living area space, and your own room. However the cost to live on campus is rather high, but it is worth the college experience.

4 College Junior

Local Atmosphere: Things to Do – Around the Central Florida there is a lot of things to do from shopping, theme parks near by, and downtown orlando which is only 30 min away. I love being a student at UCF. We might not have too much within the a ten min radius but living in the middle of Florida we have access to so many things

4 College Sophomore

Academics: Internships and Small College Atmosphere – At the Rosen Hospitality Management campus, it really serves its purpose. The atmosphere is perfect for hospitality majors to get a feel for the industry. Internships are required to graduate and this is a great opportunity to get involved in your major and get real experience. The small college atmosphere helps one to feel welcome within the community and more involved.

Overall Experience: My experience at UCF has not been pleasant. Every single faculty member I spoke with was rude and very inconsiderate. They have a lot of students running the front desks and they have no idea what the answers are to even some of the most simple questions. I would not choose UCF again and I regret ever going there in the first place.

Weather: Sunny Florida – Florida always has beautiful weather. Orlando is right in the center of the state so there's not as much rain as the east and west coasts, but it's still occasional.

1 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: I attended UCF for 2 years and there has not been a single week where I haven't gotten some sort of email saying that someone had their dorm broken into or there was another murder on campus. It wasn't always students but just the fact that people were killed and then taken to the UCF campus is pretty horrendous. I also had my car broken into on campus and had my iPod and camera stolen. The police force is nice enough but they need cameras or something to help protect their students. This is one of the reasons I'm leaving UCF.

2 College Freshman

Weather: HUMID :( FLORIDA – It's humid, a lot. And then it can be super hot and sunny when you go to a class and by the time you get out its pouring down rain.

4 College Freshman

Transportation: Buses Everywhere – Pretty good, there are buses from one side of campus to the other if you are too lazy to walk. Off campus transportation is good too, you can get buses to off campus housing or to some of the clubs.

4 College Freshman

Diversity: Lots of Different Races and Religions – UCF has a great variety of students because we are the second largest school in the nation.

Majors: Communication Sciences and Disorders Program – I am in the Health and Public Affairs College and I love it so far. I am a Communication Sciences and Disorders major. If you love working with children and are passionate about helping people you will love this major. The only negative thing that I have to say about this program is the guidance counselors. If you are not on top of what classes you have to take for the following semester you could possibly graduate a semester later. The guidance counselors could misguide you so it is important to know what you are doing. Other than that the teachers are wonderful and you will learn a lot.

Weather: Although Florida is the sunshine state the weather varies. Sometimes it will rain for days and other times it will be beautiful and sunny. Winter's are a joke because in the morning and night the temperature will normally be in the 30s and 40s. During the day the temperature will be in the high 60s to low 70s.

5 Recent Alumnus

Nightlife: Nightlife at UCF is for students who are 18 and up. The school has plenty of house parties and tailgating at football games is always a good way to party and let loose. UCF provides a free bus service for students to travel from downtown back to campus so students have the opportunity to go to local bars and clubs. Most clubs in Orlando are 18 and up except for a few bars which are 21 and up. Every month UCF has an event called Late Knights which usually consists of concerts, games, and fun activities to do in a safe environment. Overall nightlife at this school is great and I guarantee that you will have a great time!!!

Weather: I love being outdoors because the sky is always so beautiful. It is especially joyful to sit by the Reflection Pond and relax while studying for an exam.

2 College Sophomore

Parking: Way Too Crowded! Students complain about not finding a parking space and missing the beginning of class. People need to arrive very far in advance just to find a spot. I suggest that the school promotes more public transportation to help reduce our carbon footprint rather than creating more parking garages.

UCF is growing by leaps and bounds. The students love to hang out, and they all know how to have a good time. There’s so much to do and there’s something for everyone. Do you really need any more reasons to go to college in Florida?

Orlando is an exciting city with tons of attractions and activities available to all. In many ways, going to school at UCF resembles a four-year vacation (Disney on Sunday, classes on Monday!). Downtown Orlando on a Friday night can, at times, seem like Mardi Gras, and City Walk on a Saturday night isn’t to be missed. Also, Floridians are welcoming and friendly and most students at UCF make friends quickly and easily. Friendly faces and sunny skies, what more could a college student ask for? The stellar academics, up-and-coming sports teams, and state-of-the-art facilities are reason enough to spend the next four years of your life at UCF; the city of Orlando is just one big fringe benefit. Come join us!
