4 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: Daytona Campus – I go to the smaller Daytona branch campus and the security is great.

4 College Sophomore

Facilities: the thing that I like the most at UCF is the big new campus. There are constructions going on all the time in the campus. It tells me that UCF is expanding and is growing - it is a good sign and is a good thing.

3 College Sophomore

Weather: UCF is located at central Florida. To me, it actually only has two seasons. They are namely summer and winter i.e. very hot and nice.

4 College Sophomore

Athletics: Athletic Facilities – UCF's athletic facilities with good availability to the students. It provides both good indoor and outdoor facilities for the central Florida weather. The facilities come with parking which is great.

2 College Freshman

Campus Housing: Living on Campus – During my entire freshmen year here at UCF, I lived in the Libra dorms. The Libra community itself was in a great location, but the actual dorms were not very nice. The bathroom in the L-shaped dorms in Libra are extremely small, and made me feel like I was in a jail cell. The actual cost of living on campus is also quite expensive, more than most apartment complexes in the area. However, being on campus right next to everything and not having to worry about transportation to and from campus is very nice.

2 College Freshman

Academics: When I originally came to UCF, I was set on becoming a veterinarian, zoologist, or some other career type working up close with animals. However, I have since found that the workload that goes into that far exceeded what I was prepared for and I struggled in some of the more difficult classes such as Biology 2. I am currently still a Biology major but rethinking that decision, as I'm no longer sure that I want to stay with the Biology program here at UCF. I hate to say it because I feel like it makes me look lazy, but an easier major may be in store for me.

4 College Freshman

Nightlife: The nightlife scene directly around UCF is always a guaranteed good time no matter what night of the week. Local bars in the area such as Fubar, Deko, Library/Dungeon, and Roxy offer choices just about any night. There are also quite a few house and apartment parties all around UCF. Another great thing about the nightlife is that UCF has the NightLynx bus on weekends, which will take kids to and from campus to local bars so you always have a safe ride.

3 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: A Lot of Options but Price Is an Issue – The good thing about it is that there are university housing that provide shuttle to and from campus, which is very economical

5 College Sophomore

Diversity: UCF has SO MANY diversity clubs to get involved with! Almost all ethnic/racial/religous/talent groups are represented at UCF!!!

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: I live at home which is about 30 minutes from UCF.

4 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: I Guess It's Safe Enough – UCF has great police and emergency personal availabe at all times

3 College Sophomore

Campus Dining: It's Ok – The food isn't always good! same thing all the time.

5 College Sophomore

Facilities: Everything is so new and up-to-date with technology.

4 College Senior

Nightlife: Crazy Fun, and Sometimes Just Crazy – There are a handful of clubs within walking distance to the school so many students decide to walk instead of driving. I personally am not a huge fan of drinking copious amounts of alcohol since I like to be in control of my own body. However, it does make me feel better that students walk so that there are less drunk drivers out and about. There is SO much to do in Orlando whether it's clubbing, or going to an amusement park, or downtown to just hangout. You can never run out of things to do. It's fantastic.

2 College Senior

Athletics: We need to step it up! I hate seeing the Florida Gators represented more than our own team. Yes, we might not be the best, but we're a wonderful school full of amazing once in a lifetime opportunities so I'd love to see our student body embrace that and be proud to be a Knight! People get more excited to tailgate than the actual game, and because of that the stands are practically empty by the end of a football game.

5 College Senior

Diversity: Individuality Is Key – The University of Central Florida is the largest school in Florida and in the top three of the U.S. so we have a campus full of diversity. There is every race, religion, and background represented at our school. Just today I passed people speaking different languages, making model rocket ships, being lazy and skipping class, and medical students fervently learning about the different bones in the human body. There is not a single category left out. Though I don't agree with everyone on our campus we are united as a student body, and when it comes time for a football game, it doesn't matter where we stand in politics because we are all UCF Knights with the same goal and hope in mind for the night.

4 College Sophomore

Majors: UCF is all about opportunity. There are a plethora of opportunities offered to every student, it is all a matter of taking advantage of those opportunities. I do plan on doing an internship and I feel that I will be successful at obtaining one, and If I seek help in doing so, there are plenty of people who will come to my assistance.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: I love the freedom that I have here at UCF. I have friends who attend schools that have policies against allowing people of the opposite sex into dorms. I have a sister who, as a freshman, had a curfew every night, and would be locked out of her dorm and punished if she did not make that curfew. UCF does none of these things and still manages to maintain a warm environment. I love that about this school.

5 College Sophomore

Nightlife: Orlando is already a beautiful city, but it really comes alive at night. There is always something going on at the UCF campus, so nighttime events are no exclusion. UCF offers a great transportation service for club goers or just people who like to be out and about at night. A bus service called the KnightLynx runs on Fridays and Saturdays from 8 pm to 3 am it is extremely convenient, and completely free. I've used it myself...love it! Also, there are clubs within walking distance from UCF, there are even party buses that run sometimes to the bars/clubs downtown.

College Junior

Nightlife: This is another topic that I have no knowledge on as I am new to the school and I only attend once a week at the Rosen campus. I have been to the main campus area though, and there are a lot of bars and hang out spots for students to go to. I'm sure there are a bunch of parties that go on as well, but I've never been into that scene. I know there are buses for transportation and lots of students drive themselves.

4 College Junior

Athletics: I honestly know nothing about the athletics department at UCF, as this is my first semester there. I do know that UCF football is pretty popular though. Lots of students go out and support the team in their UCF gear and faces painted, and soon enough I will too.

Local Atmosphere: Rosen College of Hospitality Management – Rosen is located on Universal Boulevard in Orlando. It is very close to Pointe Orlando which has a movie theater and lots of restaurants and shops. It's a popular place for students to hang out. Sea World and Aquatica are also nearby, which are two of Orlando's premiere attractions. Across from Rosen is a plaza with Publix and some other shops, it's literally walking distance. Further down the street are beautiful apartments/town homes that are like their own little city. I think it is a great location for the school, and I'm glad they made a separate campus for Hospitality because the main campus is way too far to be driving to everyday for me. International Drive is very close by too, with tons of restaurants and attractions such as Wonderworks, Ripley's Believe it or Not, and tons of mini golf places.

5 College Freshman

Facilities: All Facilities at The University of central Florida are absolutely amazing. There are numerous sports centers and fields, the largest library that I've ever seen, and you will ALWAYS find an activity on campus going on to occupy your time.

3 College Freshman

Computers: A Little Difficult – The computers at Central Florida are good, once you find one. Availability of computers is not as high as you would like, which, despite the large size of the library, is understandable considering the massive amount of students who attend the school. Also, when bringing your own computer on campus it is sometimes difficult to get a connection.

5 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: Orlando is NOT what you would call a small town. Its a huge city, with 4 lane roads going each way, and large plazas on every other street. Its a city that will keep you occupied with shopping, downtown Disney and the numerous theme parks close by. And the atmosphere of University of Central Florida is great, it has a huge campus, but at the same time makes you feel like your in a close knit community.

UCF is growing by leaps and bounds. The students love to hang out, and they all know how to have a good time. There’s so much to do and there’s something for everyone. Do you really need any more reasons to go to college in Florida?

Orlando is an exciting city with tons of attractions and activities available to all. In many ways, going to school at UCF resembles a four-year vacation (Disney on Sunday, classes on Monday!). Downtown Orlando on a Friday night can, at times, seem like Mardi Gras, and City Walk on a Saturday night isn’t to be missed. Also, Floridians are welcoming and friendly and most students at UCF make friends quickly and easily. Friendly faces and sunny skies, what more could a college student ask for? The stellar academics, up-and-coming sports teams, and state-of-the-art facilities are reason enough to spend the next four years of your life at UCF; the city of Orlando is just one big fringe benefit. Come join us!
