4 College Senior

Campus Strictness: The thing that presents the most concern at my school is cheating and plagiarism.

3 College Senior

Campus Dining: There are a variety of dining opportunities on campus that would suffice generally everyone's appetite.

4 College Senior

Athletics: UCF has a great amount of sports available for students to participate in. You will never get bored.

4 College Senior

Health & Safety: Campus Security – I consider the campus security to be great. There are police officers everywhere, by car, golf carts and bike. The parking lots are full of lights and people can see you. There are campus phones on some of the street light polls so that people can call for help if necessary. There is ample amount of street lights so that people feel safe at all times.

Local Atmosphere: Local Area Near School – The school is located in a great area near town. It is off a major road which is Alafaya Trail. It is a big campus and there is so much to do in and outside of campus. There are plenty of places to eat near school. In addition there is a mall down the road from the school. Well its about 5 miles away, but its pretty close by car. In addition there are shuttles and public buses all over the place.

3 College Junior

Transportation: Take the Bus – There is never enough parking on campus. If you live somewhere where the UCF shuttle can take you back and forth to campus. I would say arrive early for classes to make sure you get some sort of parking.

3 College Junior

Nightlife: Night Life – There are some bars/clubs around and I do believe that they serve underage sometimes. I am not a big club person so I do not know that much about them. I went once to a club and hated it. UCF does offer transportation I believe from clubs to dorms.

3 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: I think UCF has a lot of off-campus housing but you don't have to be a student so I feel that there isn't that much for actually students there but they do offer a bus from campus to the off-campus apartment complexes.

3 College Sophomore

Scholarships: Some Confusion – I had to enroll as a transient student for a couple classes and there was some confusion in the process of applying that was very frustrating.

3 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: There are many opportunities to go for at UCF and many need to start working towards these.

3 College Sophomore

Nightlife: The clubs surrounding UCF consist mostly of Frat guys and young college students.

3 College Junior

Drug Safety: Drinking, for the Most Part – UCF is very strict about their drug policy on campus, especially if you're living in the dorms. It depends on who you hang out with to say how popular it is. Drinking is definitely the most popular and there are several bars within walking distance of the campus.

3 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: Housing Galore – There are plenty of off campus apartments and housing options around UCF and they are geared towards students. I would say the cheapest way to go, however, is living in a house with roommates.

4 College Junior

Campus Dining: Everything You Ever Wanted – There are plenty of places to eat on campus that you would never have to leave it. They have a little bit of everything from a buffet place, to pizza, to frozen yogurt. Of course they have plenty of places off campus as well. The best ones I would say are unique to UCF and are definite hang out places.

5 College Sophomore

Nightlife: O-Town Night Life – Orlando has a vast variety of night life. There is always something going out every day of the week. You could keep it local and go a couple minutes from campus to the UCF bars, or you could jump on 1-4 and go to the downtown night clubs. If you travel even further, you could spend an evening at CityWalk or Downtown Disney. There is always fun in Orlando!

5 College Sophomore

Athletics: Knight Pride – Our school has so much school spirit. You'd be blown away by all of the dedicated fans at the football and basketball games. It makes for an exciting experience! Our teams' performances are very high as well! Most of our teams are ranked.

5 College Sophomore

Facilities: I absolutely LOVE UCF's Rec & Wellness center. It's huge, with a variety of things to do, and is definately a great way to attract the students to work out. It even has a rock climbing wall which is very popular. Not only is the building great, but they offer a wide variety of intramural sports as well. I play both soccer and flag football. Along with the gym, all of the other buildings such as the student union, library, and arena are beautiful and newly renovated.

3 College Sophomore

Scholarships: Receiving financial aid through the University of Central Florida's processes was pretty simple. All of your "awards" go into an account and is dispersed within a couple weeks of the semester. I had no problems gathering and accepting the financial aid I was deserved. As with all things, improvements can be mad though.

4 College Sophomore

Athletics: Sports are pretty important at the University of Central Florida. Whether we have an amazing record or are struggling with the season, school spirit and moral stays high. We have a wide variety of intramural sports which allows the most novice athletes the chance at organized competition. We also have a newly renovated stadium!

3 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: Generally Safe – I have never felt safe at any school due to the violent crimes increasing year after year. It is a big, beautiful, safe place to be. I go to the gym regularly and do not use a lock on my locker and none of my possessions are ever missing. To be safe, look up your belongings and always keep an eye on your stuff. Campus security is everywhere and can be found at almost every corner.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: Engineering Professors – I have attended UCF for one semester and so far all of my professors have been quite helpful. I have had experiences with teachers at my prior school that didn't care very much about their students. UCF professors thus far have exceeded my expectations. Don't get me wrong, the coursework for an engineering student can be extremely intimidating, but it if you stick your nose to the grindstone there really isn't any problem.

5 College Sophomore

Local Atmosphere: Every Student's Dream – Orlando has everything a person could ask for. I am originally from California, and my hometown was two hours away from anything fun. Here, you have four theme parks in one city; along with many other attractions including mini golf, theaters, amazing malls, and who can forget a short, half hour drive to the beach. UCF may be a school that is all about studying, but the surrounding city is always there to help my fellow college classmates when we need some much needed downtime.

4 College Junior

Greek Life: I can't say much about Greek liife because i live off campus, but I hear it is amazing. They always have parties, and enjoy hanging out with one another.

4 College Junior

Nightlife: Usually there are always things going on. For example during christmas they have light up UCF, an ice skatingrink and so much more.

5 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: Off Campusdining Options – I love how The University Of Central Florida has so many choices not only on campus, but they also have great choices for off - campus. A few choices i enjoy are Starbucks, Lazy Moon Pizza, MacDonals, Giovanni's Pizza, Wendys, Pita Pit, and the list goes on and one. I have attended another college before this one and i must say UCF is in a great location that gives many resonable priced food choices.

UCF is growing by leaps and bounds. The students love to hang out, and they all know how to have a good time. There’s so much to do and there’s something for everyone. Do you really need any more reasons to go to college in Florida?

Orlando is an exciting city with tons of attractions and activities available to all. In many ways, going to school at UCF resembles a four-year vacation (Disney on Sunday, classes on Monday!). Downtown Orlando on a Friday night can, at times, seem like Mardi Gras, and City Walk on a Saturday night isn’t to be missed. Also, Floridians are welcoming and friendly and most students at UCF make friends quickly and easily. Friendly faces and sunny skies, what more could a college student ask for? The stellar academics, up-and-coming sports teams, and state-of-the-art facilities are reason enough to spend the next four years of your life at UCF; the city of Orlando is just one big fringe benefit. Come join us!
