3 College Junior

Scholarships: Fairly Easy – It was pretty easy to sign up for financial aid. I could use a little more than I was given in order to pay for books and housing, but signing up was simple.

4 College Junior

Campus Strictness: Academic Dishonesty Is Strictly Enforced – Any academic dishonesty has serious consequences at UCF.

4 College Junior

Drug Safety: Not a Problem – I don't really see to much of a problem with drugs and alcohol at UCF. Campus is safe and I feel like most of the students are smart enough to make safe decisions if choosing to drink.

5 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: Even though Orlando is a major city, the area around UCF is actually fairly quiet and peaceful. the campus is surrounded by smaller towns and suburbs and the local area pretty much feels like a college town. There are night clubs across the street from the university, but nothing major ever happens there. I personally feel very safe in this area.

3 College Freshman

Drug Safety: Drugs and Alcohol – It's no secret that people use drugs and drink at UCF, but most people are smart enough to drink off campus and use drugs in secluded places. I personally don't do it, but I have witnessed illegal drug usage only one or two times. Many students smoke hookah openly which is fine because it's legal.

5 College Freshman

Facilities: UCF stands for opportunity, and the institute offers so many opportunities to further you're learning. For example, internships, study abroad programs, career services can help you find a job and critic your resume if you're not sure yours is just right, the career expo comes to UCF during the Fall semester. We also have over 400 clubs on campus.

2 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: Don't ever park on campus with out a decal. You will get a ticket and it won't be cheap...nor fun to deal with.

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: Moes Mexican Restaurant – If you like mexican food you'll love Moe's. If you're in a sorority or fraternity at UCF you get 10% off on Sundays. It's a great place to go with you're friends.

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: A Little on the Expensive Side. There are about 5 to 10 off-campus student housings. Some are reasonably priced if you have 3 other roommates. Otherwise, I'd suggest to get an apartment/house that is not school affiliated.

5 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: Tons of dining options within 5 minutes of campus. There is something for everyone!

3 College Senior

Campus Housing: Living on Campus. Not sure what to say about living on campus since I don't live on campus but from what i've seen, its pretty ok. There are things you can get on campus but for most things you will need to go off campus.

3 College Senior

Computers: UCF has it all. Everything you need including computer labs, printing, network, high speed internet, wireless. We have it all. The only thing is, since there are a lot of students, there will be a wait. The wait gets longer during peek hours and different times during the semester.

4 College Senior

Local Atmosphere: Its a City Life – UCF is located in a great area that offers a lot of entertainment and group hang outs. Its not the worst city out there for safety but it has its pros and cons. However, there are a lot of activities if you want to get involve in about anything. There are variety of students and attitudes. We are a melting pot here in Orlando. Shopping is great local and if you want to travel across town to the more upscale shopping.

1 College Freshman

Parking: I don't drive but my best friend drives and it's always a race to finding a parking spot. UCF is under construction because we have so many students, and a lot of students means a lot of drivers. If you leave early in the morning or late at night it's better, but the middle of the day is impossible.

5 College Freshman

Guys & Girls: A Beautiful School – Here at UCF you will find a little of everything. There's the skateboarders, country folk, preppy and posh people, the good natured people everyone! The guys are definitely hot around the campus, and most relationships I know around here have lasted a long time, which is encouraging. The social scene is absolutely awesome you just have to get out there and make friends and you'll be fine!

4 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: Variety of Activities – Orlando is always so busy, with lots of different things to do. We have clubs in walking distance of the campus, tons of restaurants, a whole shopping plaza with a store for every kind of person including a movie theater and more to eat, a mini golf destination and of course the theme parks and tourists attractions are not more than 20 minutes away. If you're bored of the weekend, you really aren't looking!

4 College Freshman

Transportation: Taking the Bus – The most common way of transportation around UCF would be the bus system. The buses run every 15 minutes and even travel off campus. They are very convenient and free to students.

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: Dining in Downtown Orlando – Being located in Orlando, UCF is surrounded by restaurants and fast food joints. The average cost for dining out is around $10 and it is definitely worth it. After a long day of classes, there is nothing better than heading to Panera's and having a panini with friends.

5 College Freshman

Facilities: The Best Around – The facilities at UCF are excellent. They just renovated and expanded the gym in the past year. The gym includes a floor level of weightlifting, basketball courts, volleyball courts, racquetball, swimming pools, and even a rock wall, and a second level of exercise machines and a track. The student union is at the center of campus and at the center of attention. There is always something going on in the student union and it is now open 24/5. Inside, there are 4 levels and the first level is filled with the best fast food restaurants. Its a very popular hangout and also a popular place for study.

3 College Freshman

Overall Experience: The Place to Be – There are top schools that come with pressure to be a top student. UCF is a school on the rise with expectations to strive but the pressure isn't as intense. A great place to be, friendly people, great campus, ect.

4 College Freshman

Guys & Girls: Classy Ladies – Most girls are from the area, or cities surrounding, and there are a few girls from many locations across the country. This means that there is a variety of interest and styles for any preference.

4 College Freshman

Facilities: Great for the Most Part – The buildings are very nice and clean. The campus is pretty modern and new so it's to be expected. Now some places aren't the most amazing sights to behold ie;library, but everything is still pretty great.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: So far, I have enjoyed my college experience. It's been challenging for me school-wise but the environment is very positive.

3 College Freshman

Weather: Because this is central Florida, there is always rain. Classes have never been closed because of the rain. The lack of coverage in the school can make it difficult to get from building to building without being soaked.

5 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: Since the recent UCF cheating scandals, the students and faculty have done a great job in making sure the students do have any sort of slip ups. If There are offenders, they have strict policies that make sure the students are not allowed in the class again.

UCF is growing by leaps and bounds. The students love to hang out, and they all know how to have a good time. There’s so much to do and there’s something for everyone. Do you really need any more reasons to go to college in Florida?

Orlando is an exciting city with tons of attractions and activities available to all. In many ways, going to school at UCF resembles a four-year vacation (Disney on Sunday, classes on Monday!). Downtown Orlando on a Friday night can, at times, seem like Mardi Gras, and City Walk on a Saturday night isn’t to be missed. Also, Floridians are welcoming and friendly and most students at UCF make friends quickly and easily. Friendly faces and sunny skies, what more could a college student ask for? The stellar academics, up-and-coming sports teams, and state-of-the-art facilities are reason enough to spend the next four years of your life at UCF; the city of Orlando is just one big fringe benefit. Come join us!
