4 College Sophomore

Campus Dining: Such a great variety and pretty reasonably priced.

3 College Freshman

Overall Experience: Loving the Knight Life – I absoultely love UCF. I will forever get to cherish the memory of spirit splash. It was insane and made me fall in love all over again. My UCF college experience is probably not as great as others because i got really homesick and im in an ongoing long distance relationship which made me sad at times but it just makes me stronger as a person. i wouldnt trade UCF for anywhere else in the world.

2 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: Don't Get Caught – The housing administration and the on campus police are very strict when it comes to underage drinking and drugs. Sure there are a lot of students who do it anyways but there is no warning past orientation, if you are caught with illegal substances on campus you loose your housing almost instantly. They are also extremely strict about fire safety.

3 College Freshman

Athletics: School Spirit – I have only attended the football and basketball games so far and we are pretty average but i can tell you that UCF athletics is all about school spirit and tradition. The student section is always jammed pact and there is so much excitement all around. There are many traditions and different chants that as a UCF student you have to know.

5 College Senior

Academics: HSA Program – For my degree,Health Service Administration i like all the classes I am taking. The teachers spend time to help students understand the materials.

2 College Senior

Off-Campus Housing: Big Selection but That's All – The housing closest to campus is very crime ridden and over priced for small, outdated apartments. Your best bet is to go a little farther from campus, like a 10 minute drive, and only look at places not affiliated with UCF.

3 College Senior

Academics: Highly Rated but Underwhelming – The College of Business is one of the best programs in the United States and it is the largest Business college in the country. Students come as far as Alaska to go here but they'll be disappointed. As funding gets cut every semester, the students are the ones that feel the pressure. Most business classes are online only and you are charged a higher tuition rate for online classes. The professors are nice enough, the ones that don't have tenure, I mean. The school seems more like a for-profit business that a place of learning.

2 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: UCF can be both lenient and strict, depending on the policy. For example, they are pretty strict about drinking and drug use on campus, but when it comes to noise complaints I have seen situations where not much is done.

3 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: The drug scene at any school really depends on who you hang out with. At UCF, drinking and smoking seems to be a pretty huge deal. Unfortunately, it seems as if partying has become more essential than school itself. Many students here participate in these activities on a weekly basis.

5 College Sophomore

Diversity: As a second year student at UCF, I can easily say that this school contains and accepts a plethora of races and orientations. Every possible diverse group has its own club or organization, and is encouraged to expand. Overall, I view UCF as very welcoming to diversity.

4 College Junior

Campus Dining: Lots of Options – There are tons of places to eat on campus. There are subs shops, pizza places, fast food, and pretty much anything you can think of. There are a wide range of places to eat even if you are watching how much you spend.

3 College Sophomore

Athletics: School Spirit – UCF sports are not well known outside of the Orlando area, but the fans and the teams are trying to change that. The performance of the teams is better all the time and the school gives their support 100%.

5 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: Lake Claire Apartments – The first year apartments in Lake Claire are great! They are on the edge of campus, so any of the classrooms are a bit of a walk, but it is worth it. The view is great, and it is right across from the Lake Claire recreation area. The staff is friendly and helpful. It is a great choice for first year, especially because you have your own room.

5 College Sophomore

Facilities: For use by all students there is a gym with everything you could possibly imagine. Any type of sport you are into, there is a club for it at the gym. For academics there are tutors you can take advantage of, and a writing center to help with your papers. The student union and the arena area have many places to eat, study, and shop.

5 College Sophomore

Majors: Psychology Program – The psychoogy program is easy to get into and extremely interesting to be involved in. Like most majors here at UCF, you are given a guidline to follow to ensure you graduate on time. Not only that but there are hundreds of faculty and staff willing to help you succeed in life.

5 College Sophomore

Weather: Its the Sunshine State! Its called the sunshine state for a reason! The weather here at UCF is beautiful and warm 90% of the time. It lightens the mood and lifts spirits for sure. Also, eating icecream all year round and wearing tanks and flip flops to class makes it that much more enjoyable.

5 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: Off campus dining is excellent at UCF.There are hundreds of options for all tastes and price ranges. Most places accept a UCF student id as cause for a discount, which is awesome.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: I Love It – UCF offers multiple activities students can participate in and it offers a variety of clubs/organizations for different interests. If you search, you will find. I enjoy the atmosphere and how everyone is pretty friendly. Although parties are a major part of the social life, there's more to it if you want to be successful and UCF enforces that.

3 College Freshman

Drug Safety: It's Your Choice – Students are required to take alcohol/drug use courses through webcourses before enrollment so that they are more aware of the consequences of their actions, whether it be physical or social. The school goes over what happens if students are caught in possession of any illegal substances as well as what harm he or she is doing to his or her body. Although there is a lot of talk among the students about alcohol usage, unless the student places him or herself in a compromising scenario, it ultimately comes down to whether or not the student wants to make a smart decision or not.

3 College Freshman

Greek Life: To Each His Own – The University of Florida has a wide variety of Greek options for its students. There is a Sorority or Fraternity for various interests of its vast student body. I, however, do not take part in Greek life, but I am very well aware of when Rush Week. It is not issue if a student is not part of a sorority or fraternity, yet it will earn you "cool points" for going to the hottest parties and hanging out with the brothers and sisters. Greek life definitely makes itself known on campus by occasionally making headlines (both positive and negative). Personally, I feel that those who participate in the Greek life are there for the social aspect of things rather than what each member can benefit from in other areas of college life=academics, for example.

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: Collegiate Village Inn is affordable and rent includes meals and utilities but other places around Orlando are very expensive

5 College Sophomore

Computers: Computer Access – There are a large number of computers available in the library and additional computer labs around campus. In addition, there is reliable wireless access and free printing up to 20 pages per day. Laptops can actually be checked out for use in the library.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: There are over 100 majors and thousands of classes to choose from. Any major that you can think of there is a program of study for. There is supplemental instruction, tutoring, a math lab and a writing center to assist with the somewhat difficult courseload

5 College Sophomore

Weather: There is always something to do outside and inside so the weather don't bother me much. I also got friends to drive me around are an umbrella if it rains.

5 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: Campus Life – very friendly atmosphere. Lots of student activities.

UCF is growing by leaps and bounds. The students love to hang out, and they all know how to have a good time. There’s so much to do and there’s something for everyone. Do you really need any more reasons to go to college in Florida?

Orlando is an exciting city with tons of attractions and activities available to all. In many ways, going to school at UCF resembles a four-year vacation (Disney on Sunday, classes on Monday!). Downtown Orlando on a Friday night can, at times, seem like Mardi Gras, and City Walk on a Saturday night isn’t to be missed. Also, Floridians are welcoming and friendly and most students at UCF make friends quickly and easily. Friendly faces and sunny skies, what more could a college student ask for? The stellar academics, up-and-coming sports teams, and state-of-the-art facilities are reason enough to spend the next four years of your life at UCF; the city of Orlando is just one big fringe benefit. Come join us!
