Nightlife: Most clubs around the area have a cover of $5 dollars. They are pretty close to campus. House parties are okay (free) they are fun.

5 College Junior

Campus Dining: UCF has a huge variety of options where students can go eat. From salads to chinese food. Pizza from Sbarro, Chick-fil-a., Mexican even sushi.

4 College Freshman

Greek Life: Big on Greek – UCF is big on Greek. The majority of students are involved in a fraternity or sorority, and there are a lot of ongoing events on campus that revolve around Greek life.

4 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: The UCF area has a great local atmosphere. There are endless selections of dining options, and the nightlife in Downtown Orlando is great, with a variety of clubs to go to. Of course, there are always the theme parks an average drive away, and Orlando has a lot of great events like local farmers' markets and food truck bazaars. Orlando Magic and Predators fans are pretty dedicated, too. There is an average amount of crime, but not as bad as in other medium suburban cities.

3 College Freshman

Academics: The art major at UCF is very rewarding, although extremely demanding. Classes require hours and hours of outside studio work, which calls for students to go back to the studio for all homework assignments. Grading is tough, and the teachers expect a lot from you.

3 College Junior

Drug Safety: Alcohol Visibility – During football games of course their is a high level of alcohol visibility. However, during those games their is also a high level of policy enforcement. Other then that, their really is no problems.

2 College Junior

Greek Life: Greek Students Viewed by Non-Greeks – I am a non-Greek student and I think that some of the Greek activities are a little over the top. I also however are putting myself through college and could never see myself spending that kind of money on party activities.

4 College Junior

Computers: Printing on Campus – Usually takes some time to get into the Student Government Printing Lab, but well worth the wait. You may print up to 20 pages per day.

4 College Junior

Facilities: Awesome Professors – So far in my first semester at UCF, i've had some amazing professors who are relaxed and easy to talk to and are always willing to help me network. I see the same with other students. I recommend taking advantage of the helpful faculty at UCF!!

4 College Junior

Guys & Girls: The variety of culture in students at UCF is high and I rarely notice a particular brand of clique. I love walking to the library and seeing people of all races and styles, from hippies playing guitar on the lawn by the fountain, to studious students with their noses in books, to skater boys and girls and everything in between. The diversity is great and refreshing and I like noticing trendy dressers. A lot of good lookin' students!

5 College Junior

Campus Dining: Food and Dining Options – There are many dining places to choose from at the UCF Main Campus, including Chik-Fil-A, Subway, Sbarro, Burger King, Qdoba, Smoothie King, a salad bar, chinese, Pita Stop, Salsa 2 Go, Starbucks, Eintein's Bagels, Java Hut, and more. The prices are not any cheaper than normal fast food restaurants, but the variety of options makes up for it. I like knowing I'm not restricted to just two or three options and can mix it up. There are also enough healthy options that keep me from eating fattening foods all the time.

4 College Junior

Weather: I attend school in Central Florida. For the most part, the weather is absolutely beautiful! However, in the summer we do have frequent summer showers.

4 College Junior

Transportation: Buses to and from Campus – The transportation offered at our school to and from campus is incredible. There are about 14 different affiliated apartment complexes that participate in the public bus transportation to and from UCF. Buses, on average, come every 15 minutes and begin running before the earliest class offered begins. However, for students who do not live in this type of housing, do have a very hard time finding parking on our campus.

2 College Junior

Greek Life: Change Must Happen – As a Greek student, I believe that our Greek community is very segregated and honestly, embarrassing to be a part of. I feel as though the Greek community is highlighted for drinking and using drugs, just like the majority of college students, yet none of our accomplishments are highlighted. Some of the most involved students on our campus belong to the Greek community and not recognized. However, personally experiencing interactions between students who are Greek and who are not Greek is embarrassing and I am ashamed how my peers behave. I believe there is separation between "Greeks" and "non-Greeks" and that is what gives the Greek community the name we have. Between snobby attitudes and some Greek students believing that money makes them a better person then the rest of the University's community is horrible. Aside from this, I do wish the Greek community at our school had a little more freedom, like other universities.

Campus Strictness: Not Quite Sure – I usually steer clear of the on-campus parties, so I have no idea how strict they are about underaged drinking, for instance. I know quite a few people on academic probation though on account of their excessive partying and social life, so I suppose that's how the school cracks down on us.

3 College Senior

Guys & Girls: Very, Very Diverse! There's such a huge range of people on campus that there's not even a way to start describing them all.

4 College Senior

Academics: Pretty Swell! The professors are great, the curriculum is challenging, and the workload is expected for the university-level courses. I'm not familiar with the special study options, but the popular study areas like business and education are very developed. The registration process can sometimes be frustrating when the courses you want to take don't always fit with your schedule, but that's also expected with a student body as large as that of UCF.

4 College Junior

Weather: The weather is amazing in Florida. Walking around campus is a pleasure for everyone.

4 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: Cheap Cheap Cheap – Daytona is a holiday town so there are always apartments, flats, and houses for sale/rent/sublet. Prices are usually very reasonable, especially if you're looking to move in with other students or don't mind tighter quarters. Housing along the beach is relatively cheap as well; condos most often cover the cost of security personnel, private parking, pool and gym facilities, cleaning services, and internet/wifi.

4 College Junior

Local Atmosphere: Super Daytona – UCF Daytona Beach campus is located in great town. Daytona is known for it's races and bike week, as well as it's shopping, nightlife, and beautiful beaches. There are a handful of other magnet college campuses located just around the corner and in the Daytona area, so the town itself is very college-student-friendly; there are fast food chains, franchises, shopping malls and stores at almost every corner, along with multiple gas stations, so prices (of gas) are usually cheaper than other areas.

5 College Junior

Facilities: Who Knew Student Center's Could Be So Accommodating? The Student Center in the Daytona Campus is the best student Center I have seen. They always have free snacks, hot chocolate, soups, teas, and candies for anyone who wants, as well as some free printing. They have mini parties every once in a while and it totally breaks up the monotony of the day. You can always find all sorts of students there, and there's even a mini refrigerator and microwave if you need to store/heat up your lunch. Great place to both socialize and do some homework.

3 College Freshman

Drug Safety: Drug Policy Enforcement Experience – I had a situation in which my roommates and I had to go through a process of removing someone from housing because of the person's drug use in a dorm. The housing department went through their process as quickly as possible and removed the person for the violation.

4 College Freshman

Campus Housing: Choices in Dorms – There are several different styles of dorms to choose from. They have many differences in the prices and sizes, making it a good option for those who need cheap options. They have many choices that also offer your own space and privacy.

2 College Sophomore

Greek Life: Paid Friends – I feel like everyone wants to become part of the greek life to have friends and become "popular". most of the things people do revolved about the greek life. Only the people that can afford the outstanding amount of money to become part of a sorority/fraternity, have the chance to make friends and network. I have not considered becoming part of sorority

5 College Sophomore

Computers: New Computer Centers – Here at UCF you have access to a computer pretty much everywhere you go. The technology in this campus is amazing. They just recently opened a new building where students have the opportunity to use the new iMacs or just regular PCs to accomplish all of their work. UCF keeps growing and I'm sure new computer labs will be opening soon for more students. I most say that these labs are always packed during midterms and finals weeks

UCF is growing by leaps and bounds. The students love to hang out, and they all know how to have a good time. There’s so much to do and there’s something for everyone. Do you really need any more reasons to go to college in Florida?

Orlando is an exciting city with tons of attractions and activities available to all. In many ways, going to school at UCF resembles a four-year vacation (Disney on Sunday, classes on Monday!). Downtown Orlando on a Friday night can, at times, seem like Mardi Gras, and City Walk on a Saturday night isn’t to be missed. Also, Floridians are welcoming and friendly and most students at UCF make friends quickly and easily. Friendly faces and sunny skies, what more could a college student ask for? The stellar academics, up-and-coming sports teams, and state-of-the-art facilities are reason enough to spend the next four years of your life at UCF; the city of Orlando is just one big fringe benefit. Come join us!
