Campus Strictness: Not Terrible – Drinking can get you in trouble but generally if you don't make a huge deal or act clearly drunk you should be okay. You have less trouble drinking off-campus but keep in mind that the university's police department has a 5 mile jurisdiction around the campus in any given direction. They are very serious about traffic infractions so speeding, texting and driving, and running red lights are heavily fined.

Off-Campus Housing: There are several apartment complexes on the shuttle route to and from campus. The rates generally include utilities which is nice. The best part is there are more apartments going up very close to campus too which will make finding an apartment even easier.

3 College Senior

Local Atmosphere: Busy, Busy, Busy – There is so much to do around campus. Being close to 3 different theme parks and several malls and tourist attractions affords students a practically endless supply of activities. There are monthly events on campus that are always fun experiences. There are always games on the intramural fields that allow students to participate in a range of different sports and there are always games to go to and enjoy.

Guys & Girls: In General, Guys and Girls – Most of the guys are into longboarding. Most are fit especially since I live near the gym. Most are pretty chill. Otherwise the other ones are nerdy looking, but they are nice. The girls vary. Most are attractive. They are sweet. Most are smart. I hang with the crowd that likes to hookah, and they are pretty chill.

Academics: Nursing at Nike – For my major, I am in a special program for nursing where about thirty-six of us live in a living learning community. The first semester consisted of sharing an sls class. It has been the best experience and inspiration to succeed in my major.

5 College Freshman

Nightlife: The Non-Stop Booze Bus – University of Central Florida really cares about it's students and their safety. They know students are going to drink and rather the kids that live on campus not drink and drive. They do have a bus that runs till 3 a.m., picking up students from the hottest bars and night clubs to bring them back to campus safely.

5 College Freshman

Diversity: The University of Central Florida is full of accepting people. Being in one of the top five homosexual cities, UCF has a lot of transgendered, transsexual, and homosexual people on campus. None of them are disrespected or get bullied. Everyone is very accepting of one another.

4 College Freshman

Computers: Computer Access – They're are usually many that are accessible for students, but I don't really use them since I have my own. You have a way of knowing when computers are in use and where empty computers are available in the library. The library has five floors of access for computers.Sometimes using them isn't that quiet though.

5 College Freshman

Facilities: The Wonderful Student Union – The Student Union at the University of Central Florida is amazing. It has all the information a student would ever need about school in the the union. There are places to eat, a printing lab, an information room, and student government. If you're ever lost, the Student Union is a great place to go.

Weather: Love the Sun – Most of the time the weather is great. Sometimes a thunderstorm will annoy you. but its perfect most of the time.

3 College Senior

Campus Dining: Good but Needs More – The campus food was alright; however there were not many options. The school doesn't have many varieties to choose from unless one wants fast food. I would like to see a healthier option and at least a vegetarian option.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Dining: Food and Dining – I honestly haven't had the chance to do a lot of dining on campus. Though, from what I've seen walking through dining and snack areas, they seem to have a very nice variety of food items to choose from.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: Plenty to Choose from – There are plenty of restaurants and cafes within a few miles of campus. Zaxby's is probably my favorite.

4 College Junior

Campus Strictness: Strictness Is Beneficial to Students' Academics – Laws are laws and they are there for a reason. I feel that UCF does a great job at making sure students follow the rules about underage drinking. Students who drink underage and spend most of their time drinking rather than studying will end up being put on academic probation. It is best to follow the rules and do well in school while still having fun the legal way.

4 College Junior

Athletics: Sports Events Are Exciting – I do not participate in sports teams however, I attend the events and they are exciting and fun. So many students come out, enjoy, and cheer on our university with so much school spirit. It is a very fun and exciting time.

3 College Junior

Computers: Labs Are Very Reliable but Crowded – The computer labs are great on network reliability and speed however, the labs can fill up pretty quickly and at times it can be too loud due to students working on group projects. I prefer to have my own computer.

4 College Junior

Weather: It's Random. Florida: Known as the state of every changing weather. Most of the time it's hot here, so make sure to own several pairs of shorts. However, the weather is random. It will rain at least once every day in the summer and even at random times any other day of the year. It won't even show up on the radar. Hurricanes are bad, but there is tons of ways to be safe and protected from harm during a hurricane, so don't ever worry about that.

4 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: Food, Food Everywhere! Almost every restaurant imaginable is around the Orlando area. Living off campus myself, I find it easy to find food options for anything I'm craving. The one thing I'm sad about is that there is no Whataburger in the Central Florida area (it's my favorite place!) but hopefully they'll bring it back again soon! Food is reasonable and discounts exist if you look around for them.

4 College Junior

Local Atmosphere: Orlando: the City With Everything – Orlando basically has everything you could ever imagine in such a small area: theme parks, fancy restaurants, shopping centers and so much more. It's all so close to you and easily accessible. It's the major aspect that drew me to this area.

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: I have only been here for one semester. It is much unlike my Undergrad Alma Mater, The University of Florida, but I do enjoy this school. The program I'm in is great, and I've liked all of my professors. There is a lot of school spirit. Facilities are very nice and clean, some brand new! I also like that there is a winter carnival from November until January, free for students!

3 College Freshman

Parking: if you have a parking pass and you get to campus early, you're fine. there are more than 50,000 students at the campus soo obviously parking might be a hassle if you show up late every day. First come first serve in my opinion

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: there are a ton of different apartments to choose from off campus, location wise but most of them seem very cookie-cutter. They seem to all cost the same amount of money, too.

4 College Freshman

Academics: Business Administration – Although i'm a freshman not yet enrolled in the college of business at UCF I can tell how prestigious it is and aspire to one day be in the college. My introductory business courses are very informational and I've been exposed to instructors and students who have succeeded greatly in the business world. The workload isn't too bad but they expect you to study and know your stuff for the exams.

1 College Freshman

Scholarships: Luckily, I don't live very far from home. My mom had to make several trips to campus to help straighten out my financial aid. We had problems with the distributing multiple times. I found myself spending a lot of time in the office at the beginning of the semester, but things have gone smoothly since I solved the issue.

5 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: Endless Choices – Right off campus there is pretty much every fast food chain known to man; Chipotle, Zaxbys, Del Taco, Taco Bell, Buffalo Wild Wings, Panera, McDonalds, and so much more. I dont have a meal plan so I am always looking for new places to eat. I never have to go far and am always trying something new.

UCF is growing by leaps and bounds. The students love to hang out, and they all know how to have a good time. There’s so much to do and there’s something for everyone. Do you really need any more reasons to go to college in Florida?

Orlando is an exciting city with tons of attractions and activities available to all. In many ways, going to school at UCF resembles a four-year vacation (Disney on Sunday, classes on Monday!). Downtown Orlando on a Friday night can, at times, seem like Mardi Gras, and City Walk on a Saturday night isn’t to be missed. Also, Floridians are welcoming and friendly and most students at UCF make friends quickly and easily. Friendly faces and sunny skies, what more could a college student ask for? The stellar academics, up-and-coming sports teams, and state-of-the-art facilities are reason enough to spend the next four years of your life at UCF; the city of Orlando is just one big fringe benefit. Come join us!
