Campus Strictness: UCFs policies are pretty fair. All of the rules implemeneted are for a good cause.

College Junior

Campus Housing: On Campus – I do not personally live on campus. I live off campus in an apartment.

Weather: Humid With Random Rain – Florida means humidity and rain pretty much all the time. Classes are never cancelled for weather unless it is a hurricane. It can be a pain trying to run to or from class in the rain, but I've learned to always carry an umbrella in my back pack. I can't complain really, because it is sunny and warm almost everyday.

Athletics: Sports Should Be More Important – When I came to college, I wanted a school that loved their varsity sports. I grew up loving sports and watching them whenever I got a chance. Our football and basketball teams are pretty good but nothing great. We are a part of Division I which makes it competitive but I wish we had a little more spirit when it comes to athletics.

Health & Safety: Very Safe – I feel very safe on my campus. My mom worries about me walking home at night from the library but the pathways are very well lit and my dorm is very close as well. We have a safety escort service that is very helpful as well.

Majors: I Love It – I love the University of Central Florida. I am a Psychology Major and I love being taught by professors that are very intellegent and actually know what they are talking about. There are a very cons about UCF, but dont let them over weigh the good because it is a great school.

Academics: I'm still an undergrad, but the undergraduate program is great, all the advisers are really great in helping you figure out your schedules and what you really want your major to be.

Guys & Girls: Everyone Is Friendly – There are a lot of relationships around campus and a lot of single people. I feel that it is probably 50/50. Everyone is really friendly and theres a huge diversity of people.

Off-Campus Housing: A lot of the apartment complexs can be dirty and pretty expensive but there is a lot of pros of living off campus. I live on campus right now and I am planning on moving off campus just like most of my friends. Off campus apartments are worth the hassel.

Guys & Girls: Greek People Everywhere. I guess it's like that at all schools, but there are greeks everywhere. And they're annoying 97% of the time. Sometimes they're cool, but they tend to be sluts and man whores who pay they're house thousands of dollars just so they can be their "friend" and get drunk with them and then go off and do "philanthropy".

Campus Dining: Meal Plans Suck – Knighto's and Marketplace, which is where you eat if you have a meal plan, serve the worst foods. I went there once and got chicken that was pink and under cooked. And they're expensive and a waste of money. Thank God for Chick-fil-A!

Facilities: Amazing Gym – The gym at UCF is fantastic! It's 2 floors and offers so many great things! They have many basketball courts, racquetball courts, 1/8 mile track inside, aerobic machines, weight lifting galore, etc. They also offer fitness classes that are fantastic workouts and the instructors are great! They also offer personal training for a really cheap price! Outside, they have a lap pool and a leisure pool. They keep the place super clean and it's all pretty new. And we have a three story rock climbing wall. It's the best.

Transportation: Free Buses – Transportation is great at UCF. There are free shuttles that come frequently, so you're not waiting to long. In addition, they run pretty late so that's another plus.

Off-Campus Dining: Convenient Dining – The are many places to choose from aside from the dining hall. Within the campus itself there are restaurants walking distance from the dorms and other fast food places, such as Burger King, Domino's, and etc. If you don't like the options across the street from the main campus are many different places to dine from. It's extremely convenient.

Health & Safety: Seems Safe – I've only heard bad things, but nothing to serious. The crime is low, and I feel very safe at my school. There's security regularly around campus and more seen during the night.

Drug Safety: A lot of people spend quite a few weeknights at the Plaza getting drunk, but its not necessary to have a good time!

Guys & Girls: Everyone Is Pretty Friendly – UCF is a very diverse campus, with a large LGBT community, but there are also the Greeks, typical Jocks, and "nerds." Everyone is really friendly and looking to make new friends.

Local Atmosphere: My Life as a Knight – UCF has a wonderful campus, with amazing facilities and a gorgeous campus. There is plenty to do in Orlando and the school offers discounts for nearly everything. Although there is a lack of spirit when it comes to sports, especially football. If you are looking for a huge sports school, UCF isn't the school for you.

Facilities: Campus Life – My school is the largest school in the nation. It has an amazing campus life with many fraternities and sororities and high academic expectations for everyone.

Campus Strictness: Strict but Reasonable – Police is pretty strict about unauthorized parking. The school is strict about drugs and alcohol in dorms which is reasonable and for the safety of everyone. People have gotten kicked out of the dorms for smoking Marijuana.

Facilities: You're Never Bored – There is literally always something to do at UCF. When you wake up in the morning, there is an email waiting for you at your school email address informing you of some of the goings-on that occur that day. There are also hundreds of clubs to join, people to meet, and activities to take part in. Because UCF is so big, there is seriously always something to do.

Parking: Parking is one drawback when it comes to UCF. I know that some people have to park very far away from their classes because they can't find a good spot, or a spot that it meant for students. The parking permit is very expensive, and it is almost always a pain to find parking. I'm lucky in that the student living apartments that I live in offer shuttlebus services, because I just can't afford a parking pass.

4 College Freshman

Diversity: Every Race Is Welcome – It is very diverse, there are many different races here, white, African American, Middle Easterners, Hispanics, mixed, orientals, there are people from all over the world. Everyone respects each others beliefs, with the occasional debates around campus.

Health & Safety: Safety Is Key – I always feel safe walking around school even when I have late night classes. There are emergency stations located all over the school and from 7pm to 1am there is a service called SEPS which ensures that you get to your car or dorm room safely, either with walking escorts or motorized escorts. I love the campus and how safe it is.

Local Atmosphere: Anything Is Possible – University of Central Florida is the best school for me. It's located in Orlando, only a short drive away from all the major theme parks such as Disney World, Universal Studios, and Sea World. There are also clubs and bars within two minutes of the school which many students go to. The campus is perfect, with beautiful gardens, a enormous reflection pond, and spacious classrooms. Love everything about the school and the area.

UCF is growing by leaps and bounds. The students love to hang out, and they all know how to have a good time. There’s so much to do and there’s something for everyone. Do you really need any more reasons to go to college in Florida?

Orlando is an exciting city with tons of attractions and activities available to all. In many ways, going to school at UCF resembles a four-year vacation (Disney on Sunday, classes on Monday!). Downtown Orlando on a Friday night can, at times, seem like Mardi Gras, and City Walk on a Saturday night isn’t to be missed. Also, Floridians are welcoming and friendly and most students at UCF make friends quickly and easily. Friendly faces and sunny skies, what more could a college student ask for? The stellar academics, up-and-coming sports teams, and state-of-the-art facilities are reason enough to spend the next four years of your life at UCF; the city of Orlando is just one big fringe benefit. Come join us!
