1 College Junior

Scholarships: My financial aid office needs to hire new people that are willing to go above and beyond for the students. I always feel like they send me on my way without giving me a heads up about important things.

5 College Junior

Majors: Early Childhood Education – I love my major. I love my classes. All the teachers are so sweet and helpful. UCF helps produce more teachers in Central Florida then any other state college!

2 College Junior

Greek Life: Greek's, Ehh.. Greek life isn't too prominent at UCF. There is greek street where all the houses are but it by no means, dominates the school.

1 College Junior

Guys & Girls: MTV Shows – The girls tend to be more "laguna beach" and the guys are more "Jersey Shore".

4 College Junior

Drug Safety: Doesn't Seem to Be an Issue – It's rare that we hear about drug problems on campus. Smoking cigarettes is a big issue but UCF will be a smoke free campus as of Fall 2012. Drinking is the popular past time for parties.

4 College Junior

Academics: Lots of Choices and People to Help Make Them! At UCF, they encourage you to make the choices that will best achieve your dreams and there are lots of people there to help you come to the most sound decisions. They are always doing their best to make positive changes to the campus and the curriculum.

3 College Junior

Weather: shorts and sandals and nothing outside the ordinary

3 College Junior

Campus Dining: Dining Halls – Somewhat pricey for meal plan but food is good as well as variety.

3 College Student

Computers: The labs are crowded during exam week. It's nice to have your own computer because it takes long to get a computer in the lab.

College Junior

Campus Dining: I'm a Transfer Student Who Lives Off Campus. I live off campus, and my classes are off campus. So, I really couldn't tell you about the quality of the dining services.

3 College Junior

Academics: Poorly Organized but High Level of Education – My major is Nursing, and although I know I am receiving an excellent education, the way my major is organized is just about as stressful as possible. They put the four hardest classes of my major all together in the same semester. It's very difficult, and I feel like I would learn more if these difficult classes were more spread out so I could focus on each one more.

2 College Sophomore

Scholarships: Know What Your Doing – If you are transferring from a distant city and cannot be on campus in a few minutes, then you need to know everything about Financial Aid. Its going to be hard but you need to be on top of everything, everyday. Make sure you send in your scholarship applications several days before the deadlines.

3 College Sophomore

Weather: Hot. All the Time. Let's be honest its Orlando, its going to be hot all year round. Prepare for sunburn and donate all of your pants to GoodWill, you won't be needing them here. Not even during winter.

4 College Sophomore

Transportation: Distance Travel – I live about 30 mins. from the University and the traffic is surprisingly nice in Orlando. UCF also have a very nice app for carpooling call ZimRide. It's an easy way to find friends and colleges who are going your way.

3 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: Usage and Visibility – I'm not aware of the drug scene here at UCF. I know we have strict rules about drugs and underage drinking. The only time I see alcohol present is during tailgating for football games

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: The off-campus dining options are nice as well. Its convenient because across the street from the campus is a long strip of different resturants to choose from. From fast foods to Dining in and also ice cream shops.

5 College Sophomore

Campus Dining: Meal Plan/Flex Dollars – I believe buying a meal plan was the best choice for me. Personally, I don't like to cook and having a meal plan at UCF provides me with two dining halls that are open at convenient times. Also by having a meal plan, you also recieve $50 in "knights cash" which can go towards any on-campus resturants. The knights cash comes in handy for time when you want to eat something different.

4 College Sophomore

Athletics: I don't really follow the athletics, so I don't know how we are.

4 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: A-
The safety on school is great. Whenever there is a low safety alert, they notify us immediately via email. They also have multiple kiosks with phones in case you need assistance.

4 College Freshman

Weather: The Sunshine State. Orlando has the perfect weather. Its always a good day to go lay out by the pool or head to Cocoa Beach. During the winter it was cold enough for us Floridians to enjoy for a break and soon enough the warm weather and light breeze would return. Other than the occasional rainy day the weather doesn't seem to cause much trouble around campus. Dress light and keep an umbrella on you at all times!

3 College Freshman

Transportation: Where Is the Lynx Bus? The Lynx Bus system is helpful to get from off campus housing to campus. I would prefer if the bus system went to some of the shopping plazas in town, though. The buses can be late sometimes but Orlando traffic is hard to get around.

3 College Freshman

Computers: Whether you are at the library, the printing lab or any other computer lab you always find yourself wandering around jumping at any slight movements that would allow you to get a chance at using a computer. For this reason, most students use their own laptops around campus. The wireless access is reliable most of the time, too.

5 College Sophomore

Majors: I Don't Regret Criminal Justice or Architecture – I love being a dual major in Criminal Justice and Architecture. I have dreams of becoming a renowned Homicide Detective or Architecture overseas for a European company. Once I started the upper level classs for my major, I fell in love and couldn't see myself anywhere else.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: The UCF Police can be found in the wee hours of the morning to the cool hours during the day to dark hours of the night, patrolling the campus. They are very strict when it comes to parking, drug use, and jail walking and will not hesitate to slap you with a fine.

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: Some convenient restaurants near UCF include the infamous Chipotle, Zaxby's, Tenders, and Mark's Caribbean Cuisine. The prices are fair; usually do not have to spend more than $15 for a hearty meal and drink with an occasional snack.

UCF is growing by leaps and bounds. The students love to hang out, and they all know how to have a good time. There’s so much to do and there’s something for everyone. Do you really need any more reasons to go to college in Florida?

Orlando is an exciting city with tons of attractions and activities available to all. In many ways, going to school at UCF resembles a four-year vacation (Disney on Sunday, classes on Monday!). Downtown Orlando on a Friday night can, at times, seem like Mardi Gras, and City Walk on a Saturday night isn’t to be missed. Also, Floridians are welcoming and friendly and most students at UCF make friends quickly and easily. Friendly faces and sunny skies, what more could a college student ask for? The stellar academics, up-and-coming sports teams, and state-of-the-art facilities are reason enough to spend the next four years of your life at UCF; the city of Orlando is just one big fringe benefit. Come join us!
