Local Atmosphere: I live in Orange County, Orlando Florida. At first when I came I was unfamiliar but I now feel like everything is accessible, through a bus ride, or even the free shuttle. There are good food areas that deliver or are just a walk away. The malls and shopping locations are only a bus ride away. Concerning sport/recreation, UCF, where I attend, has its own state of the art gym. It is a safe area because you frequently see cop cars patrolling the areas. I feel at home here.

4 College Junior

Athletics: Best Fan Support – The fans always come out and support the teams at Ucf. Everyone gets dressed up and comes out to see the games. Students are actively involved in the sports

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: Great School No Complaints – Great school. You have to be a good learner and study in your off time due to the large classes but it is worth it. The biggest campus by far in the south and it is new and still being added to. Great first choice.

4 College Junior

Facilities: Biology and the Lab – Biology at UCF is great. We have slide shows and classroom activities to help us learn each chapter. The lab for biology gives a lot of insight into the human body and other organisms.

5 College Junior

Facilities: The Gym Is Awesome – The UCF Gym is amazing! It will most likely be larger than any other gym you've seen. There are enough free weights for everyone to workout and enough room. There are televisions everywhere to keep you occupied while working out and they have four indoor basketball courts with an indoor track field. The gym is really legit and it won't be a let down.

5 College Junior

Transportation: Ucf shuttles are always running between 7am through 10pm. It saves you the hastle of looking for parking, which can be a real pain!

4 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: Check Out Tenders – Tenders is really awesome! They have a variety of options to choose from and they're not too bad on the pricing either. They are located right across from the campus which makes it real easy to get there and they are quick when you order.

5 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: On Campus Living – The UCF dorms are all relatively new. They are quite spacious and allow for visitors both male and female. I would recommend the apartment style dorms. They are pricer but you are able to have your own room, kitchen, and common room.

4 College Sophomore

Local Atmosphere: Great City – Orlando is such a great town with so much to do. UCF is located 25 minutes from the bars and clubs downtown, 40 minutes from universal studios/disney, and 40 minutes from the beach. There is so much to do in orlando. A UCF student can never be bored.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: Professors are always willing to help. However, I do not like the +/- grading system.

4 College Sophomore

Weather: It rain a lot in Florida, but classes are never cancelled because of rain. We just need to leave our houses a few minute earlier to get to class.

5 College Student

Guys & Girls: Great Students – All of the student at UCF are very nice and willing to help you with everything.

5 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: Majority of the relationships in between girls and guys are really different. Its hard to really understand if the girl and guy are in relationship or just friends. They go beyond friendship boundaries in some areas, while other times they are only acting as friends.

4 College Junior

Health & Safety: On campus has great security and A lot of ways to warn students through technology if something is going on or about a storm. The affiliated housing could be better, but is getting there.

3 College Junior

Campus Dining: I RARELY dine at UCF but it's not bad and has a great atmosphere.

3 College Junior

Scholarships: A lot of paper work and waiting, but overall good.

3 College Junior

Parking: The parking with decal isn't so bad, but free parking is horrific.

4 College Freshman

Majors: There is a very large selection of majors and the school caters to all of them.

4 College Freshman

Transportation: Off Campus Shuttles – They have shuttles that run from campus to most off campus student apartments that are very convenient and reliable

4 College Junior

Nightlife: The night life surrounding the college can be fun if the student is careful. This is a big city and crime is around just as any other big city.

4 College Senior

Guys & Girls: There Is a Wide Varity of Students. The student body is very diverse and the vibe at our school is that of relaxed and laid back.

5 College Senior

Health & Safety: You Never Feel Alone Because Faculty and Polic Are Always Present – The campus is safe and crime rates are low on campus because there is a consistent present of campus security and police.

3 College Junior

Health & Safety: Safety on Campus – The news in Central Florida portrays sexual assaults that have occurred on campus.

UCF is growing by leaps and bounds. The students love to hang out, and they all know how to have a good time. There’s so much to do and there’s something for everyone. Do you really need any more reasons to go to college in Florida?

Orlando is an exciting city with tons of attractions and activities available to all. In many ways, going to school at UCF resembles a four-year vacation (Disney on Sunday, classes on Monday!). Downtown Orlando on a Friday night can, at times, seem like Mardi Gras, and City Walk on a Saturday night isn’t to be missed. Also, Floridians are welcoming and friendly and most students at UCF make friends quickly and easily. Friendly faces and sunny skies, what more could a college student ask for? The stellar academics, up-and-coming sports teams, and state-of-the-art facilities are reason enough to spend the next four years of your life at UCF; the city of Orlando is just one big fringe benefit. Come join us!
