4 College Freshman

Campus Housing: It is extremely convenient to live on campus because you can walk anywhere in 20 minutes.

4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: I feel safe on campus because there are always so many people around and you can always contact a campus police officer.

5 College Freshman

Facilities: Social Scene – UCF is so big it is impossible to not find a social place or group to be involved in. Everyone is friendly and open to including anyone.

3 College Freshman

Drug Safety: Be Smart – Obviously, drugs and alcohol on campus are a no but they both are very available. It's not hard to find either if you are looking. If you're not the type of person who wants to be around either, students here are very understanding and would never push you to do something you wouldn't want to do. It mainly depends on who you hang out with.

Facilities: A Great Place to Be – All of the buildings and facilities, including the dining rooms, library, gym, classrooms, and colleges at UCF are very nice. They are all either new or newly renovated. Our gym is filled with nice and new equipment. Everywhere on campus is very pleasing to the eye and is a great place to be. UCF effectively makes all of our facilities very comfortable to its students and visitors.

4 College Freshman

Facilities: Lake Claire – I live in the Lake Claire apartments on campus. Overall, they are very nice. They are not very glamorous and provide only what you will need to survive on campus. However, the plus comes from the fact that you have a full kitchen available to you. This allows you to avoid paying the 1400+ dollars for a meal plan. instead, go to wal-mart every two weeks and spend 50-70 dollars. I have been very satisfied with my Lake Claire experience.

Academics: Biomedical Sciences – As a Bio-med major with the intention on attending medical school after graduation, i have definitely learned what will be required of me. The teachers i have for my major-related classes have been great and the advisers for this major are even better. overall, it has been a great experience.

Off-Campus Dining: So Much Food, So Little Time – If its a type of food, then there's somewhere near UCF that offers it; in fact, there are probably several restaurants that have it and are at different price levels. Many of the local restaurants will pass out coupons on campus or at the different communities on move in days, many restaurants have frequent customer/loyalty cards, and several of them have specials on foursquare. My personal favorite restaurant is Sus Hi. Sus Hi is basically the Subway for sushi, and they offer much more than just rolls, they have wraps, rice bowls, salad bowls, and a variety of appetizers too, and all at a low price! Another popular restaurant is Kyoto, with its $5.99 hibachi lunch special, enough food for almost two meals. If you're looking for pizza, Lazy Moon is the place to go, with slices of pizza that are about three times as big as a normal slice for about $3 or $4 each.

Academics: Study Hard, Play Hard – As most college students know, there is a website called rate my professor in which you can find out what to expect with different professors. Of my college experience I have had mostly wonderful professors that want to help you. Almost all of my professors have flexible office hours and are willing to help students find extra help- they want you to pass! Registering for classes is super easy! It can all be done online or you can see a counselor if you need help. Also, UCF has many campus resources available, from the writing center when you need help with paper, SARC (student academic resource center) for tutoring, and even a counseling center for when your stressed out, just to name a few.

Local Atmosphere: Fun and Focused – When students aren't busy cramming for exams there are a lot of things to do in the surrounding area. The University of Central Florida is only 25 minutes away from the Universal and Sea World Parks, 45 minutes away from the Disney parks, and about an hour away from Lego Land. Both Kennedy Space Center and the beach are 45 minutes away. Also, if you're in the need for speed there is the Orlando Speed world, located about 20 minutes away from campus, or Daytona is only an hour away! As per the night life, there are several bars located right in front of campus and the downtown scene is only 20 minutes away. To top it off, there is even a dog park and a shopping mall about 15 minutes from campus. There's always something to do in Orlando!

Weather: Here in Florida most of the time the weather is sunny it barely has its cold days. It is February here and you can go outside with sandals and shorts. :)

3 College Freshman

Greek Life: Greek Life at UCF is Diverse and there are often Yard Shows for the different Fraternities and Sororities at the University. There is also Rush Week at UCF.

3 College Freshman

Nightlife: UCF is usually always active you can almost always find something to do there. Sometimes they throw parties for the whole campus to attend that are free.

4 College Freshman

Drug Safety: Everywhere you go there will be peer pressure at tour age. However, all incoming Freshmen at UCF are required to take an alcohol education course to inform you of the risks of drinking so you will be aware of what can happen to you.

3 College Freshman

Guys & Girls: Although the College is a majority white institution there are many people that look like me on campus. Also, there are different racial profiles also. So I would say that UCF is a diverse campus.

4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: The Environment is very safe and healthy all the dorms must be accessed with keys or your student i.d and code. It's is safe because they have security and also means to help if something does happen to you while on campus.

4 College Student

Scholarships: Very Helpful – The financial aid office has always been available to ask questions and make suggestions. Theyhave always responded quickly to any emails and the person to person appointments where helpful.

3 College Student

Facilities: Computer Classes – UCF had some of the best classes in state for the type of career I want to persue. I toured other campuses and just liked the way the campus felt - open. As for the area, it's in Orlando with lots of theme parks - The Happiest Place On Earth!

4 College Student

Facilities: Open and up to Date – UCF has everything I need on campus to complete my degree. My dorm is fine and the meals at the Market Place are good. Since the campus is a circle, the walk to my classes are short. The Library and the computer labs are almost always available. I feel I also have the support from the school is always there in case there is a need.

4 College Freshman

Majors: Happy With Psychology – I plan to become a marriage and relationship therapist with a Psychology degree from UCF. I feel that UCF has a very good and popular Psychology program with many classes to choose from, and I do not regret majoring in Psychology

5 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: Orlando, FL – My school is located in Orlando, FL, which is a very tourist-y place with all of the theme parks and attractions around. However, the specific area that my school is in is very much catered to college students and has everything students need.

4 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: Nice Environment – I don't feel that my school is too strict or too lenient. I feel that it upholds the standards that a university should.

3 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: I Don't Smell It – Drugs are a BIG threat at the University of Central Florida, so I don't see a lot of people testing it out. However, there a LOT of people drinking.

5 College Sophomore

Local Atmosphere: The University of Central Florida in Orlando has so much to offer in terms of entertainment. From Disney World to walking around a beautiful city at night, this area has something fun for everyone.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: Wouldn't Change It – A great college for a mix of both academic and social life. I love all the opportunities to play sports here (whether I'm good at them or not) and the professors are very helpful. I am really glad that I picked this school

UCF is growing by leaps and bounds. The students love to hang out, and they all know how to have a good time. There’s so much to do and there’s something for everyone. Do you really need any more reasons to go to college in Florida?

Orlando is an exciting city with tons of attractions and activities available to all. In many ways, going to school at UCF resembles a four-year vacation (Disney on Sunday, classes on Monday!). Downtown Orlando on a Friday night can, at times, seem like Mardi Gras, and City Walk on a Saturday night isn’t to be missed. Also, Floridians are welcoming and friendly and most students at UCF make friends quickly and easily. Friendly faces and sunny skies, what more could a college student ask for? The stellar academics, up-and-coming sports teams, and state-of-the-art facilities are reason enough to spend the next four years of your life at UCF; the city of Orlando is just one big fringe benefit. Come join us!
