Campus Dining: its ok. tour days are better than most. but for college food its pretty good

Nightlife: So Many Clubs! There are plenty of things to do in downtown Orlando. There are plenty of clubs to go to, all of them popular and always alive. If the club thing isn't your scene you could always find a good movie to watch, you might even want to check out the newest at the Enzian theatre. If you can't make it downtown there is always bowling or a nice restaurant, some of these places even have an open mic night.

Computers: Update Please! I work for the school late night on campus and every night I remember to bring my own laptop. The computers tend to be slow and half of them don't even have the latest flash making it very difficult to navigate some sites.

Off-Campus Housing: A Little Pricey but Worth It – Off campus housing tends to be cheaper than living on campus and new communities seem to be popping up around the university overnight. Living off campus could be anything between $500-$700/month, however that usually includes amenities, utility cap, and plenty of other services that make it so worth it.

Majors: Elementary Education – Without a doubt, The University of Central Florida's Education programs are beyond excellent. Their program allows you to graduate with every certification that you will need, especially living in Florida, such as the ESOL cerification. The teachers are amazing and dedicated. They are always willing to give you the extra help that you need.

4 College Senior

Computers: Easily Accessible – There are many computer labs located in different parts of the University of Central Florida. It is almost impossible not to find an available computer at the library. Wi-fi is quite difficult to access during the busy times, but it is fast.

Academics: Great Experience – The Marketing department at the College of Business fosters an extremely encouraging learning environment. Only a semester after being admitted, I was able to score an internship through the Marketing Internship department. Students who are interested in pursuing a career in sales are able to apply for the Professional Selling Program, which is as rigorous as it is rewarding. There are also many student clubs that are overlooked by the faculty. I am extremely excited to be able to take advantage of so many wonderful opportunities at my university.

Campus Dining: Good Choices – Because I started out at the university as a junior, I never had to buy a meal plan, so I cannot provide much information regarding what UCF has to offer. However, there are plenty of places on campus to grab something to eat at. I am more than satisfied because such a large number of joints gives me many choices to pick from - whether I am looking for something on the healthier side or a place with more democratic prices.

Academics: University of Central Florida provides students with great opportunities to learn and grow through the academics that are offered. Faculty's research and publications are known to be one of the strongest in the nation, which makes the faculty extremely competent to teach. The university makes available a large number of extra curricular academic activities and programs to become involved in. For all marketing majors, the Marketing department at the College of Business offers students an opportunity to apply for the exclusive Professional Selling Program, which is rated as one of the best in the United States. College of Business also provides students with Career Center services which assist students in improving their resumes and career portfolios as well applying for jobs posted in the university's career management database.
The only drawback is the hectic class registration process, which is understandable because of UCF's large number of enrolled students.

Diversity: Diversity at this university is rich and vibrant. Great way to experience different points of view.

Guys & Girls: I thoroughly enjoy the vast diversity of students here and in the surrounding areas.

Transportation: Public buses are fairly convenient around the UCF area. However, the UCF buses are the greatest and fastest way to travel. They will even take you to the Rosen college campus on the other side of town.

4 College Senior

Health & Safety: I've never felt unsafe on campus. I do occassionally take night classes, but there is always security patrolling the area and if anything you can always call for a safe escort to your car.

There is the occassional petty theft so make sure you don't leave any valuables in your car that are visible and lock everything up.

4 College Senior

Academics: Business Management – The instructors are very supportive and helpful in your success not only in the class, but in your future endeavors. They provide many resources for you to take advantage and they have a career services department that helps to prepare you for job interview, job search, etc.

3 College Senior

Parking: This is one of the largest universities in the U.S. so there is bound to be issues with parking. UCF has improved the parking situation by building more parking garages and adding more online courses so less students are on campus taking up parking spots. There is more contruction on campus so I'm sure they will be adding more. They're clearly making an effort to accomodate everyone and there are always other transporation options such as the shuttle bus, carpooling, etc.

4 College Senior

Overall Experience: I Love It! Everyone is eager to see you succeed and provides support. Students and faculty alike are kind and helpful. There are a lot of resources for students you just have to be willing to take advantage of the opporunities provided.

4 College Senior

Transportation: Many Options – There are several shuttle options for on and off campus and they have KnightLynx which is a late night bus service on the weekends. UCF also has what is called ZipRide for carpooling and ZipCar which is a membership based car sharing company that provides access to cars with a reservation. Finally they have a number to call and request a Safe Escort to your car.

5 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: Dining in Orlando – There are a million different places off campus to eat. A lot of places give UCF students discounts too if you show your ID. A few frozen yogurt places give 10% discounts with ID, and those make great late night treats. There are also a lot of places to go and not break the bank. Lazy moon for example, is a perfect pizza joint that serves HUGE slices of pizza for a few bucks.

4 College Freshman

Facilities: Well first off, UCF has a pretty amazing campus. It is huge, which can be overwhelming at first. But its all a big circle, so you are never really too far from anything. They have a million different things there as well; a large selection of food places, a hair salon, a candy store, a bank. UCF is like it's own little city. The library has a bunch of computers available to students which always comes in handy, and most things are pretty high tech.

4 College Freshman

Campus Dining: The food options at UCF are pretty awesome. There are a bunch of different places in the student union as well as around campus. We have everything from chick-fil-a and sbarro to a really cool greek place. It's also really cool that you can use KnightsCash to pay for food around campus.

5 College Senior

Facilities: The uniqueness about UCF is their Recreational and Wellness Center. It encompasses many programs, such as fitness, aquatics and intramural Sports. The RWC is open to all UCF students; The RWC offers an infinite selection of services with tennis courts, golf course, a leisure pool.

2 College Student

Parking: Parking in the gargages is sometimes confusing and small parking spaces. You do need to arrive 30-45 minutes before classes begin to find a space to park.

College Student

Off-Campus Housing: Off Campus – I have always opted to live off campus so that I could be in between school and work while going to school.

4 College Student

Off-Campus Dining: Variety of Dining – There are a lot of options for dining off campus that are close to campus and extended hours for students too.

UCF is growing by leaps and bounds. The students love to hang out, and they all know how to have a good time. There’s so much to do and there’s something for everyone. Do you really need any more reasons to go to college in Florida?

Orlando is an exciting city with tons of attractions and activities available to all. In many ways, going to school at UCF resembles a four-year vacation (Disney on Sunday, classes on Monday!). Downtown Orlando on a Friday night can, at times, seem like Mardi Gras, and City Walk on a Saturday night isn’t to be missed. Also, Floridians are welcoming and friendly and most students at UCF make friends quickly and easily. Friendly faces and sunny skies, what more could a college student ask for? The stellar academics, up-and-coming sports teams, and state-of-the-art facilities are reason enough to spend the next four years of your life at UCF; the city of Orlando is just one big fringe benefit. Come join us!
