Campus Strictness: I have never been harassed by anybody in authority in the school. To the best of my knowledge all the rules are enforced fairly. I do know there are the basic rules of any campus such as alcohol rules and of course no drugs. You also have a time frame to be at a parking spot with no permit other than parking at major buildings. Enforcement is lenient but fair and can be strict when needed to be.

Academics: I came to the University of Central Florida because it is close to home and has a reputable business program. The classes so far have been informative and straight forward. The teachers are good at what they do and have been very helpful. It was a very easy registration process. It did take a while before i heard back from this school but it was well worth the wait. I am a very satisfied student.

Weather: In central florida there are a lot of random showers, the campus is always prepared for storms coming and has many sheltered areas to help stay dry and many parking garages to park your car and it is sheltered and dry during a storm. If there is a threatening storm that the school must be closed UCF is very good at sending out emails and even texts to students to make them aware of such changes.

5 College Junior

Campus Strictness: UCF has strict school policies on academic misconduct, and it is a zero-tolerance issue.

Athletics: Athletics in my school is average. The school spirit and fan support is very good. Many people attend the games and go with the school colors to show support. On the other hand many don't care and just go to tailgate and do not even go in to watch the games. The teams are average they are not horrible but they are not the best either. They are not bad but definitely have room to improve

Academics: I am currently attending the College of Business Administration at the University of Central Florida. It is my first semester here at UCF and so far it has been a positive experience for me. The class workload is adequate, not to much not so little. The teachers really know the material and explain it quite well. The building itself is well kept and simple. One of the simpler looking colleges in this university, but it is still attractive nonetheless. For jobs and internships there is an office to the left as soon as you walk in the building which is very helpful; although i have not participated in an internship program i know of many who have and have been helped by the Office of Experiential Learning. Something very unique to my program is the cornerstone class which was added on to give business majors hands on experience with team work and problem solving along with important concepts that apply to the business world. Overall i am satisfied with my experience here at UCF as a business major the program is very enriching.

Local Atmosphere: Outgoing and Active – I love UCF. The actual campus is beautiful and brand new. It has everything you could possibly need. Hair salon, all kinds of food, entertainment (one of the few colleges with a liquor bar in it :) Tons of sports (lap pool, HUG gym, Frisbee golf coarse, bike trail, rock climbing, canoe, surf, camping activities, and much more...) Due to the high # of activities at the school most people dress sporty and don't care much about fashion and clicks. Everyone is friendly and willing to help a lost freshman on the huge campus. Its a very safe school. I never feel uncomfortable walking to my car after a late night class. Everyone looks out for each other. Outside the campus there are always things going on every day and night. There are stores catered to the students with plenty of school spirit supplies and cheap shopping because they understand college students are broke! :) There are student discounts in every store near the school. Also, its in Orlando so their is always something to do with all the parks around. Some times they will close Universal studios for a day just for UCF students to enjoy!! So much fun. People are always all over campus studying so you will never be lonely :) I love UCF!

Scholarships: I have spent many hours applying for scholarships over the past 5 years and I have never recived a single one!! It is very frustratiing and I feel like i am just wasting my time and talking to myself. I had a very difficult up bringing and have had no help in my college career. I feel like if anyone should be a good canidate for getting help it is me but yet I havent been helped at all.

4 College Junior

Health & Safety: There are emergency telephones everywhere and there are always lights on the pathways, which help make walking around campus more safe and secure. There are also usually a large number of security patrols roaming the campus.

4 College Junior

Campus Dining: I never eat at the dining hall, but the places in the student union are great. As with any cafeteria, the food is going to get old after a while, but the overall variety at UCF is great.

5 College Sophomore

Majors: I love my major. It's very hard and demanding, but its worth it. I have to study a lot harder than a lot of other majors I know of, but its interesting. I enjoy learning new aspects of the subjects I'm required to study. I want to work in the medical field so job opportunities are always available and easy to come by, as are internships. Also, there are a ton of clubs that are available for my major to help with classes, volunteer opportunities, and internships.

College Sophomore

Majors: I haven't had an internship job yet but I definitely plan to have one in the future. It would help so much with getting into a professional school in the future and would help me with kinda figuring out where it is that I want to go once I get into the school I want to get into.

Majors: I didn't have any difficulties that I can recall. I applied to the school my senior year and got in almost immediately. The only important thing that I recommend is to apply early. The sooner you apply, the better chance you have of getting in since its rolling admission.

4 College Sophomore

Nightlife: There are bars right across the street from campus that are 18+ that I've always been able to have a good time at. The music is good and there are always good drink specials for those who are 21+. Personally, I prefer house parties because there are a lot more people there that I know and that leads to better times and meeting new friends.

3 College Sophomore

Majors: As a biomedical sciences major, my classes are a little hard sometimes. However, I've wanted to be a pediatrician my entire life so its all worth it to me.

4 College Freshman

Transportation: UCF is in Orlando. Everything goes through here... There are shuttles all around campus to off-campus housing and shopping places like Publix, shopping centers, etc.
The campus nearly has everything on it that you would need, though.

4 College Freshman

Drug Safety: Peer pressure? No. There are 60,000 people here. You could meet ten new person a day ... for 16 years.

I know many of people that smoke. They know I don't smoke and don't try to get me to smoke with them. Visible? Not really. Not if you're not looking for it. UCF is a wet campus, so alcohol is allowed on campus.

Policy? If caught, it is immediate termination, however, if there is an OD problem... something along those lines... they are very forgiving if you are helping. Say you and your friend are doing drugs. He ODs. If you take him in to the medical center, you yourself won't be in trouble, because you helped.

4 College Freshman

Diversity: There is so much diversity here... 60,000 people. Everybody seems to get along. I haven't seen any alterations here and I don't think I will. Accepting doesn't seem to be an issue here.

3 College Freshman

Weather: The heat makes walks to class very difficult, but it's bearable. The rain can get annoying sometimes, but, again, bearable with an umbrella. Winter gets nice--not too cold, and not hot.

3 College Senior

Local Atmosphere: The immediate area surrounding UCF is great for college students, as there are soooo many stores and restaurants, all your needs will be met. The Orlando city area is not very close, probably at least half an hour's drive, but does offer some good nightlife or chill areas to hang out (Winter Park is a great hipster-area). There are conventions and events in Orlando all the time, some not very interesting to students. Concerts are a big thing though, there are about a dozen venues in Orlando that bands like to frequent, including a House of Blues and Hard Rock Live.

4 College Senior

Facilities: Every major and program has a designated area at the school that fits to their needs, and it's great to see the school embracing such diversity among academic studies in their facilities. For example, the Communications building is fully equipped to run all the projects housed within it, including the student newspaper, radio station and Knightly News.

3 College Junior

Transportation: There are several programs to help you with transportation and even if you don't live near campus there are charter buses to take you to and from your area of town to campus. Also, there are regional campuses you can go to if a campus is closer to your house.

4 College Senior

Facilities: the gym is excellent, and is constantly expanding.....the new renovations to the library is nice and technology commons is a good addition...unfortunately there isnt enough parking

Campus Dining: Dining Halls - Marketplace and Knightro's are both average. Personally, I find the Marketplace to be of better quality and of more variety.
Menus - There is something different each day but the basics remain and it gets slightly repetitive.
Healthy Options - There are many healthy options! Most people don't realize this and do not take advantage of this.

UCF is growing by leaps and bounds. The students love to hang out, and they all know how to have a good time. There’s so much to do and there’s something for everyone. Do you really need any more reasons to go to college in Florida?

Orlando is an exciting city with tons of attractions and activities available to all. In many ways, going to school at UCF resembles a four-year vacation (Disney on Sunday, classes on Monday!). Downtown Orlando on a Friday night can, at times, seem like Mardi Gras, and City Walk on a Saturday night isn’t to be missed. Also, Floridians are welcoming and friendly and most students at UCF make friends quickly and easily. Friendly faces and sunny skies, what more could a college student ask for? The stellar academics, up-and-coming sports teams, and state-of-the-art facilities are reason enough to spend the next four years of your life at UCF; the city of Orlando is just one big fringe benefit. Come join us!
