Nightlife: Young Town – There is a bar called the Knight Library just off campus. While they have an adequate number of bouncers it still gets really rowdy. Most of the off-campus apartment complexes have someone throwing a "rager" on any given night. A private company charters buses to take customers downtown to hit several of the clubs. There is a lot of drinking, however, if you are 21 or older you are almost too old to be going to the parties around campus. If you want to go to a club with real music and dancing, head away from the campus. If you just want to drink a lot of alcohol you do not have to travel far.

Diversity: Extremely Diverse – As I said before, the styles at UCF are all very different. Because there are many different races that attend my school, they all have different styles. UCF welcomes all students and Florida, north and south, has all types of races which makes the students on campus very mixed. No matter what color, everyone accepts you. It isn't even a question of what color you are because nobody really thinks about that. Everyone is very friendly and is used to the diversity so we all mix without question. There is no avoiding any particular race or ethnicity.

Transportation: There's Always Something – Most housing, including off-campus affiliated housing, is very accessible. Shuttle buses come about every 15 minutes to each housing facility and they drop you off at the heart of campus so it may only take a maximum of about 10 minutes to walk to your class from there. If you're living on campus you don't even need transportation because everything is in walking distance. There are many other UCF buses that travel besides the shuttles and those are free as well. Even late nights there are party buses that can transport you from downtown back to campus and vise versa.

Health & Safety: I Feel Safe – At UCF we are constantly aware of any crime that occurs anywhere so that we may avoid any dangerous areas. Also, almost every corner you turn you can find a police car on patrol and "emergency buttons" you can press in case you are alone in an area at night and something happens so the police can come right away. Campus crime is minimal but when it occurs it is always gets solved within a few days and things go back to normal. I have never felt unsafe at my school.

Guys & Girls: Everyone Is Unique – Everyone at UCF has their own style and I love it! There are different genres of people in a way because the school is very diverse and there is a place for everyone. Many of the guys are very cute and according to my guy friends, the girls are too. In my opinion we have very good looking students and they're also very smart as well which makes the students here very well rounded. Frat life and sorority life are pretty minimal here unless you're actually in one. Mostly on the weekends people go to clubs/bars and during the week is when most of the studying gets done. I like it here because it is very easy to build relationships with all of these people.

Parking: Sometimes Very Difficult – As being one of the most populated schools in the country, there is a lot of people and a sometimes almost impossible to find spaces, it all depends on the time. However there is always construction expanding the school.

Majors: Admission Into Health Science Is Easy – This past semester I switched into Health Sciences- Pre-Clinical from Molecular Biology and Microbiology and the process was a breeze. Definitely see an advisor if you're switching though. Any challenges that might occur would be if the advisor doesn't believe switching is the best decision for you. Other than that, all I had to do to switch/declare my major was apply for it online through MyUCF. You can also go to Milican Hall and fill out a "declare a major" form if you don't want to do it online or find it confusing. I believe there is a minimum gpa and I think it's the UCF minimum gpa, so if you're in overall good standings with the school, that shouldn't be a problem.

Computers: Labs Are Extremely Crowded – Printing and computer labs are always in use by an abundance of students. Lines may require that you wait for up to an hour before being able to use a computer center.

3 College Freshman

Weather: Rainy Conditions – It rains a lot but classes are usually not cancelled and professors still expect you to be on time for their classes.

4 College Sophomore

Nightlife: Always Something – Right around campus there are lots of clubs and hookah lounges not to mention bowling alleys and other fun things to do.

4 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: Drugs and alcohol are of course prohibited from school but just like anywhere else if you look hard enough you'll find it. There is no peer pressure towards it but if you like that sort of thing then you easily spot it.

4 College Sophomore

Transportation: Campus Shuttles – Transportation around UCF is best done by campus shuttles. There are different buses that bring you all around the surrounding UCF area. Not to mention they are free! For further areas outside of the surrounding area the Lynx public transportation is always a good option. $2 for a ride and there are routes all over orlando.

5 College Senior

Local Atmosphere: Big Place – It is a big place, with buses that will take u anywhere

5 College Senior

Guys & Girls: We have many different races. Everyone is friendly and helpful

5 College Senior

Campus Strictness: Drinking and Smoking Free – We have just gone smoking free. There is a no drinking rule for our school.

4 College Senior

Computers: Always a Computer – There is always a computer to use in the lab. Many students have their own computers. They just use the schools wireless network.

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: It's Really Nice – This school is really nice. Though at times stressful there is a silver lining. Of course what I like best is that there are activities on campus literally everyday. There's something for everyone. The large size at first may seem over whelming but it's all good and gives you space to breathe.

4 College Junior

Parking: Because the school is large there had to be a lotof parking. What I find nice is how every housing complex on campus has their own parking lot exclusive to them. As well as there being parking lots near the most populated or important buildings on campus. Of course there are times in the day when it does seem like there is no parking availble. But there are convient shuttles that go to and from campus for the off campus housings so they don't always have to bring their cars unless by choice.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: Average Dorms – Best dorms would be Lake Claire and Towers which are both apartment type dorms. I lived in Libra sharing room and bathroom, was not a fan, but that might just be me.

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: University Boulevard – University Blvd. has plenty to eat, from regular chain restaurants to small business restaurants, the only problem is accessibility, seeing as you can't quite rely on walking to all of these places.

4 College Sophomore

Facilities: Open campus is full of greenery and scenery. It makes walking from class to class enjoyable.

4 College Senior

Campus Strictness: Very Layed Back – The ucf campus is not very stricked. Students are encouraged to express themselves and have fun on campus. The school is only concerned of the students safety not preventing students from enjoying the campus.

4 College Senior

Transportation: Bus System Is Great – The bus system in ucf is really good. They have a system for all the surounding complexes that take you to and from school every 15 mins. They also have a system for the inside of campus and one that rides the local streets. they also have night buses for the weekends and some that go downtown and a company that goes to Miami and one to Tallahassee and stop at major cities in the way. They are free to ucf students except for the long distance buses to down town, Miami, and Tallahassee. But even those are not expensive.

3 College Freshman

Parking: Be There Early ! There are lots of Parking spots , always fairly close to the Classroom you have to go to. The only problem is to be there a little bit earlier since there are so many students commuting to campus. If you live on campus I suggest walking to all your classes since its no longer than a 10-15 min walk. You can order your permit online , either semester wise or for the whole school year and the price depends on if you live on campus , where you live etc. You do get ticketed for parking in teacher or faculty designated parking spots or for not having a permit at all. I believe there is not a need to have a car on campus since everything is in walking distance.

4 College Senior

Athletics: Great Programs – UCF has many great athletic programs, and has just recently become a top college for football.

UCF is growing by leaps and bounds. The students love to hang out, and they all know how to have a good time. There’s so much to do and there’s something for everyone. Do you really need any more reasons to go to college in Florida?

Orlando is an exciting city with tons of attractions and activities available to all. In many ways, going to school at UCF resembles a four-year vacation (Disney on Sunday, classes on Monday!). Downtown Orlando on a Friday night can, at times, seem like Mardi Gras, and City Walk on a Saturday night isn’t to be missed. Also, Floridians are welcoming and friendly and most students at UCF make friends quickly and easily. Friendly faces and sunny skies, what more could a college student ask for? The stellar academics, up-and-coming sports teams, and state-of-the-art facilities are reason enough to spend the next four years of your life at UCF; the city of Orlando is just one big fringe benefit. Come join us!
