Campus Housing: I gave UCF a B+ because I have never lived on campus housing but I have only heard good things about living on campus so I assume we offer decent options.

4 College Senior

Health & Safety: There has been crime on UCF campus in the past which is on my mind at times while on campus, especially at night. However, there are ways to feel and actually be more secure. UCF offers a number you can call in which a police will escort you to your car if you want them to. This is great! Also in many of the stairwells in the parking garages there are emergency buttons you can push in case of an emergency. So although there has been reported crime in the past I feel pretty secure while on UCF campus

Local Atmosphere: I love linving in Orlando and going to school at UCF. The campus is huge and offers a wide variety of activities and environments. There is always something to do in Orlando, whether it be theme parks, shopping, parks, bowling, movies, or restaurants. I come from a small town so it is a nice change of scenery.

5 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: There are so many types of guys and girls as UCF. So many different stereotyped people you are bound to fit in with some group of friends !

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: There are really a lot of options off-campus. I have never really had a problem finding something new to eat every day. There are a lot of healthy options as well which is good when you just gained that freshman 15!

4 College Sophomore

Transportation: The transportation services are run very well. I take the bus from Sterling and it is a very quick ride. There have been a couple times where it was late and I was running late to class.

3 College Senior

Health & Safety: There are blue emergency lights all around campus that when pressed immediately alert someone that you feel endangered or in trouble. Just try to find one that works.

Local Atmosphere: UCF is in Orlando. We have a lot going on. The local stuff immediately around UCF is fantastic. We have an incredible amount of restaurants and bars. The locals are all about their UCF students, we get discounts almost anywhere. Orlando has a downtown area that has a variety of places to out at night. The bars and clubs range from the dominate college-y crowds, to the chill, quiet bars to just grab a beer. Orlando has Disney and Universal and the many other places that go along with those attractions. It's pretty impossible to be bored at UCF.

Greek Life: The houses on Greek row are very well kept and nice looking. The students involved in Greek life are very participative in the community. However, it always seems like it is the same type of people involved and every group is the same. They are everywhere and their symbols are everywhere. It gets a little annoying because it seems they like to point out to everyone their involvement with the Greek community. I think there is a pretty big separation between the Greek, wanna-be Greeks, and the non-Greeks.

Diversity: The UCF campus is EXTREMELY diverse. I see people of all races. As for religion, we have clubs for various religious groups. One example is an Buddhist club, that specializes in Bhakti Yoga for students on Campus. We also have a very strong LGBT community at UCF.

Transportation: The Lynx bus system is HORRIBLE for public transportation. However, the UCF transportation is wonderful. Especially if you life in off-campus university affiliated housing. They take you to campus every day for free.

Off-Campus Dining: UCF area has amazing dining options! Especially since it edges on different cities, such as Oviedo. There is a large selection and variation of ethnic restaurants, which is very important for me because I love trying new things. Along with these small local restaurants, they have the usual restaurant chains such as Macaroni Grill, Subway, Pinkberry, Jeremiah's, Panera Bread, and so forth. My favorite local restaurant is Sus Hi. It's just like Moe's and Chipotle, where you tell the person preparing your food what you want as you go along, however it's Sushi! It is the same price for every personalized sushi roll.

Academics: The academics here are very decent. They offer many programs that are both interesting and challenging. The workload can be ranked to medium to high, which makes students challenge themselves to make them think harder and become proficient in their skills.

4 Recent Alumnus

Academics: My major at UCF is Electrical Engineering. Even though I just started my Masters program here, I feel that they are better than my previous university with the resources they put into the program. There are also variety of professors that are very knowledgeable of their fields. On top of that, the chances of finding a job here at Orlando is very high because of the populated community plus the many companies that are located here. One thing that still needs to be improved upon is the availability of courses. Some course I want to take are not offered during certain semesters.

5 College Junior

Campus Strictness: VERY STRICT WHEN THEY NEED TO BE. THE PARKING STRICTNESS STINKS BUT OTHERWISE ALL IS FAIR

3 College Junior

Campus Housing: I HAVE ONLY HEARD GOOD THINGS BUT I DO NOT LIVE ON CAMPUS SADLY. THE SOCIAL ASPECT IS NICE BECAUSE THERE IS AN ELEMENT OF SAFETY THERE.

3 College Junior

Guys & Girls: ALL KINDS OF FOLKS.- SOMEONE FOR EVERYONE. VERY DIVERSE.

3 College Junior

Academics: very difficult, but manageable if genuinely interest

3 College Sophomore

Athletics: Our varsity sports are pretty large! Women's soccer is highly ranked, and our football team is still up and coming. Their facilities are spacious and like-new. We have HUGE school spirit here at UCF! Even if our team is doing poorly, we still get tons of people at our games cheering them on!

4 College Sophomore

Local Atmosphere: There are several great malls and theme attractions, but they are a good 30-45 minutes from campus. Orlando is huge and we are on the eastern outskirts, so we are limited on what is directly here. Downtown isn't too terribly far, though! Around here there are a few clubs that are popular. Safety here is average of that of a large college sub-city. The Bob-Carr center gets a lot of musicals coming in and is always nice to visit! Downtown is great to go to get a high end city feel with all the skyscrapers!

3 College Junior

Majors: The process of getting into Biology major is relatively easy. You have to have a minimum GPA of 2.5 or higher. You also have to take a Chemistry placement test to be able to take chemistry in that unviersity. You declare your major as soon as you apply for the university because you have to choose the college that goes with your major so you can have advisors for that major you are pursuing

3 College Senior

Weather: Florida weather is just so unpredictable sometimes. But it is pretty nice

5 College Senior

Off-Campus Dining: Restaurants are pretty good. The ones that I have attended are good on pricing and quality.

5 College Senior

Overall Experience: Amazing! I love my school and my time here has been phenomenal.

5 College Senior

Health & Safety: I feel completely safe on campus. The amount of campus police patrolling the school reinforces my opinion.

UCF is growing by leaps and bounds. The students love to hang out, and they all know how to have a good time. There’s so much to do and there’s something for everyone. Do you really need any more reasons to go to college in Florida?

Orlando is an exciting city with tons of attractions and activities available to all. In many ways, going to school at UCF resembles a four-year vacation (Disney on Sunday, classes on Monday!). Downtown Orlando on a Friday night can, at times, seem like Mardi Gras, and City Walk on a Saturday night isn’t to be missed. Also, Floridians are welcoming and friendly and most students at UCF make friends quickly and easily. Friendly faces and sunny skies, what more could a college student ask for? The stellar academics, up-and-coming sports teams, and state-of-the-art facilities are reason enough to spend the next four years of your life at UCF; the city of Orlando is just one big fringe benefit. Come join us!
