Local Atmosphere: Great College Town – Although UCF is not far from Disney and University Studios, it still has that college town feel. There are a variety of supermarkets, and shops in the area, in addition to many restaurants, movie theatres and clubs. There is always something to do on campus and off.

Off-Campus Housing: Not all of the off campus housing is that great, but what UCF has is choice. If you don't like one place, you can go right next door and get a completely different place. Price might not always be the best but you will have so many choices you're bound to find a good match for your individual needs.

Academics: 1 in Sea of Students – I'm in Digital media-Game design. So far I've liked my classes, and I've learned a lot, but there are so many students. I have yet to be in a class with less than 150 students. It's really hard to get to know your professors personally. Upper level classes are different though, because they usually have around 30 students. I know it will get better, but the first two years are very crowded.

Drug Safety: Alcohol Is Popular – Drugs didn't seem like a big problem at UCF. If anything people were just smoking, but alcohol is huge. If there was a gathering, there was alcohol. It wasn't uncommon to see someone at night returning from a party puking/stumbling back to their dorm/apartment.

4 College Senior

Majors: There are many classes which are offered for this degree and some are available online which is a a nice option. Professors and staff are typically helpful and well-educated. Student advising on courses could use some improvement. I would do it over again but I would certainly go a less circuitous route. I would like to work in a historical center and am interested in working with historical gardens. I also currently work in education and am considering advancing in that field as well. I have the same concerns as anyone currently in finding a "good" job but know that this education will help regardless.

4 College Senior

Campus Strictness: The University is very pro-active in alerting students about any potential dangers on campus. Any suspicious behavior is always investigated and the campus always feels very safe. There are few dangerous "closed" feeling areas which could be safety issues. Police presence could be more frequent but there rarely seems to be a need.

Local Atmosphere: There's Always Something Going on – UCF provides so much activity and entertainment on campus along; venturing off of campus is an exciting adventure in itself. Orlando is such a fun town full of so much night life.

5 College Sophomore

Diversity: There Is a Melting Pot of All Different Kinds of People – There are so many different kinds of people at UCF. I believe there are so many different cultures and backgrounds so no one feels left out or too different from everyone else. The majority of people is hard to determine because I see so many people walking around campus everyday interacting with one another, it's really nice to see where other people come from.

3 College Sophomore

Scholarships: It's Difficult for Me to Find Financial Help – My family is not poor so I find it difficult to find scholarships that apply to me. At my school, there are plenty of scholarships available. All you have to do is look on their scholarship website and find one that applies to you.

4 College Sophomore

Computers: The computers at UCF are in good condition and have great network reliability and speed. The printer is easily accessed. My only concern is that there may not be enough; it is hard to find a seat or an open computer on campus sometimes.

4 College Senior

Overall Experience: I Fell in Love With My Regional Campus – The great thing about UCF being such a widely populated institution is not just the diversity of the students attending, but the access provided through the regional campuses. I attended the Daytona Beach regional campus, and it provided me with the ability to commute while still attending one of the largest universities in the country.

4 College Senior

Majors: Made the Perfect Choice of Health Sciences – I didn't originally begin with health sciences as a major. I intended on pursuing nursing, but something in me called out for more. I always believed that everything happens for a reason, and when I volunteered at a hospital and met with different health care professionals, I found my true calling. I changed it to health sciences so that I could pursue a career as a Physician Assistant. From there, everything sort of just fell into place. I had visited UCF numerous times and already knew I wanted to go there. I know for sure that I made the right decision and I would definitely do it all over again if I could. I'm very proud to be a Knight!

5 College Junior

Computers: Computer Always Available – There is always a computer available and the computers are reliable. & there is always someone there to assist you if problems do occur.

5 College Freshman

Facilities: In general UCF has one of the best campuses because they have all types of amenities available for all types of students. This variety makes it possible for everyone to find something for them.

4 College Freshman

Transportation: Buses Are Great for Everyone – The public transportation services offered at UCF are awesome because they have buses running all the time. They even have late night buses that take students to the surrounding areas that have fun options for all.

3 College Junior

Parking: Not Enough Spaces – There are more students than parking spaces but if you have early or late classes you can find spots. The parking permits are expensive, it cost about 45 dollars for one semester. If they are games or concerts going on, it makes it even hard to find parking spaces. You should give yourself plenty of time to find a spot so you wont be late to class.

4 College Junior

Academics: A Lot to Offer – There are many programs to chose from and it's easy to register for classes. Most professors are good and help their students. There are many resources available to help students to need help and lots of places to study.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: Bring Bug Spray – The freshman dorms at UCF are more than what I expected. Everything is very nice except for the ants! The best option for on campus housing at my school would be the Towers or Hercules/Nike. Don't get me wrong, Libra and all the other freshman dorms are great, but if you want spectacular rooms, go there. You meet a lot of people no matter where you go and dining services are within walking distance with all housing.

3 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Go Knights! UCF took me a year to adapt to. Not only is it one of the largest schools in the nation, but being away from home affected me as well. Once I got involved, and really focused on my studies, it wasn't so bad after all! Now I love it here and I wouldn't want to go to any other school!

4 Recent Alumnus

Majors: Relatively Easy – UCF is a relatively easy school to get into. There's one essay that you have to write and you need minimal grades and SAT school. They accept almost everyone that applies but the only drawback is you have to take summer school on your first year as an incoming freshman.

3 Recent Alumnus

Greek Life: Party Central – As a non- Greek, we view Greeks as Party animals which is fun at times when you want to go to a party but they are also quite obnoxious in how they go about everything at school.

3 Recent Alumnus

Transportation: Mediocore Public Transhportation – The shuttle system is very convenient and runs quite frequent from 6am to 11 pm Mon- Fri. Public transportation on the other hand runs often but only to a limited area. Not many students rely on buses or taxis to get around. Its essential for a student to have a car.

4 College Junior

Academics: Psych Majors – I studied Psychology at UCF for my undergraduate experience. I loved studying psych at ucf ofcourse since it's my favorite major but also because there are so many opportunities. You can work with a lot of research departments on campus to get a good feel for what you'd like to do. The work load is sufficient enough to learn yet not overwhelming...Choose your professors right, check out ratemyprofessor.com for every semester.

4 College Junior

Computers: Good Resources – The access to computers at UCF is good. There is a large number of computers on campus.

3 College Junior

Greek Life: Greeks Are Around – There are greeks that walk around at UCF some apparent some not so apparent. The people that I've met in greek life have been down to earth and nice.

UCF is growing by leaps and bounds. The students love to hang out, and they all know how to have a good time. There’s so much to do and there’s something for everyone. Do you really need any more reasons to go to college in Florida?

Orlando is an exciting city with tons of attractions and activities available to all. In many ways, going to school at UCF resembles a four-year vacation (Disney on Sunday, classes on Monday!). Downtown Orlando on a Friday night can, at times, seem like Mardi Gras, and City Walk on a Saturday night isn’t to be missed. Also, Floridians are welcoming and friendly and most students at UCF make friends quickly and easily. Friendly faces and sunny skies, what more could a college student ask for? The stellar academics, up-and-coming sports teams, and state-of-the-art facilities are reason enough to spend the next four years of your life at UCF; the city of Orlando is just one big fringe benefit. Come join us!
