4 College Sophomore

Nightlife: Lots of Options – Almost all the clubs are open to 18 and up. Many are located close to campus and are always packed with students.

5 College Sophomore

Diversity: UCF is one of the largest universities in the United States and the diversity is really amazing. The schools clubs and organizations are extremly supportive of all races, cultures, backgrounds and sexual orientations.

Local Atmosphere: Everything You Need...And Then Some! I've grown up in the Orlando area my whole life and I love all the events and activities. Everything from dining to shopping to entertainment is at your fingertips. East Orlando supports UCF so much and offers students tons of discounts and job oppertunities.

Weather: Rains a Little – The activity on campus is for the most part unaffected unless it rains. Being in Florida, it's apart of life and it's coped with. Sometimes going into class soaked in water and drying yourself in the bathrooms with paper towels is pretty much as bad as it gets for Florida weather. All in all, the campus experience is typically fine rain or shine.

5 College Senior

Majors: History Undergrad – The application process went very smoothy. All of the people I interacted with were helpful. I would say this program is very accessible but writing skills are a definite requirement.

5 College Senior

Majors: History Internship – I am currently involved in an internship through the UCF History Department. It has been a challenging project and has taught me valuable skills related to my field. I have worked closely with some of the staff and they have been helpful. I have been required to step out of my comfort area and explore a variety of skills. I feel this experience has increased my capabilities in fining success in this field of work.

5 College Sophomore

Scholarships: Process Was Easy – I got a decent amount of financial aid and the process was pretty simple. You have to make sure you keep up with deadlines, but UCF makes sure to give you reminders. Making financial aid appointments isn't really necessary unless you are confused by something specific in the process.

2 College Junior

Scholarships: Not Enough – For such a big school, there are so few scholarships! I have had the worst time trying to find a scholarship that fit my profile.

4 College Junior

Weather: In the summer it rains often and when it is not raining it is deathly hot. However the fall and winter is beautiful blue and sunny and breezy excellent weather.

4 College Junior

Computers: Don't Know – I have never used the computers at UCF, but there seems to be plenty of them!

4 College Junior

Academics: I'm not sure. I haven't started classes yet, just transfered in.

3 College Senior

Health & Safety: Lately, the UCF area has been increasing in crime. The cops are always here to reassure and assess the criminal acts, but there is crime regarldess. Health isn't an issue since UCF has one of the top of the line health centers (it includes a dental clinic) and it's all covered under your tuition!

3 College Senior

Off-Campus Housing: The Orlando area has so much housing surrounding UCF. And there are so many varieties, we have apartments, condos, townhomes, and regular houses available for rent. And the apartments vary quite a bit, there are average, standard, and luxury based communities. Also, apartments provide a myriad of different living situations: there are studio apartments, one bedroom one bathroom, four bedroom, two bathroom, etc. So you can find something that works for you!

3 College Senior

Diversity: They have a very low international population but they are vehemently trying to increase this percentage. It seems there are more white students than any other race.

4 College Senior

Parking: Right to Find a Spot – The parking is really cheap compared to other colleges around the country but the parking permit only gives you the right to look for a spot, does not mean you will actually find one.

4 College Senior

Nightlife: Always Something to Do – There is a plaza literally across the street with 3 18+ clubs for students. Once you feel that you have outgrown these clubs downtown (has some 18+ clubs but not many) you can go there. Party buses and the "Knight Train" run constantly so transportation is easy to find. UCF also has one voucher per semester for students for a free taxi ride should you feel you cannot drive home safely which is great.

4 College Senior

Local Atmosphere: Never Bored – Orlando has great daytime activities as well as a good night life. More so for those who are 21 and older but there is something for everyone.

3 College Senior

Campus Dining: Good but It Gets Boring – When I was a freshman the food was always good, but after a few months you will get tired of the same cycle of food that is available.

4 College Senior

Campus Housing: There are a variety of dorms available at UCF. Depending on which dorms you live in (or on-campus apartments) will depend on your experience. The only real issue I had while living on campus is how far I had to park from my dorm so bringing in groceries was always a real workout. I enjoyed living in Apollo my freshman year, didn't have any issues except for parking.

4 College Senior

Weather: The weather in central Floria is usually great, but sometimes it can be too hot and it rains all summer long.

3 College Junior

Weather: Florida is soo hot, carrying your heavy textbooks and walking across campus back and forth can wear you out especially since its ridiculous trying to find just any parking spot!

5 Recent Alumnus

Off-Campus Housing: Plenty of Extra Housing! There are plenty of different types of housing all around Orlando. Whether you're at the main campus or at a separate campus, there are plenty of types of housing opportunities!

5 Recent Alumnus

Diversity: Between the different races, religions, polotics and personalities, there is TONS of diversity at UCF. No shortage whatsoever.

4 Recent Alumnus

Guys & Girls: Diversity, Diversity, Diversity! No matter what kind of person you're into, you'll find someone who will fit well with you at UCF. Whether it's their background or what they like to do in their spare time, the students at UCF are definitely unique and have their own unique personality.

3 Recent Alumnus

Scholarships: Very Helpful as Long as You Stay on Top of It! I have kept up my Bright Futures Scholarship since high school, but other than small grants and loans I have yet to earn a scholarship from UCF. I have a 3.05 GPA and have a great academic resume. Since I am a transfer student, I hope to eventually acquire a scholarship from UCF once I put in time at the school.

UCF is growing by leaps and bounds. The students love to hang out, and they all know how to have a good time. There’s so much to do and there’s something for everyone. Do you really need any more reasons to go to college in Florida?

Orlando is an exciting city with tons of attractions and activities available to all. In many ways, going to school at UCF resembles a four-year vacation (Disney on Sunday, classes on Monday!). Downtown Orlando on a Friday night can, at times, seem like Mardi Gras, and City Walk on a Saturday night isn’t to be missed. Also, Floridians are welcoming and friendly and most students at UCF make friends quickly and easily. Friendly faces and sunny skies, what more could a college student ask for? The stellar academics, up-and-coming sports teams, and state-of-the-art facilities are reason enough to spend the next four years of your life at UCF; the city of Orlando is just one big fringe benefit. Come join us!
