4 College Junior

Campus Strictness: its a great school and their policies are very clear. The campus is strict about drugs, alcohol, honor code and cheating etc. they do pretty good job on keep UCF safe.

Off-Campus Housing: The University of Central Florida has a variety of off-campus apartments, and man are a bike ride, or even a walk away. There are shuttles that go to over a dozen off campus housing residences and takes you directly to school so you probably won't be using money to get to school. Prices of housing ranges from about 500-800 (for furnished) depending on the apartment. I know that unfurnished can be as low as 400 (I think). Parking seems to be great, there is also room somewhere.

5 College Junior

Computers: There is free printing (up to $2) at UCF. I believe it is $0.04 a page and it prints on both sides unless ou choose otherwise. There is an express printing for those who are in a rush and need to get things printed rather quickly (each person gets 10 minutes at a computer and there are about 14 computers I think). There is also an upstairs printing lab for those who need a little extra time at the computer.
I have never lost signal or had slow connection while on the UCF network so the internet is very reliable and pretty fast. You can get get wireless access just about anywhere. It's nice to have your own laptop just in case you want to sit on a sofa in the library or on a pillow, or anywhere that isn't a desk.
The library has tons of computers and multiple floors. Computer labs are available. There are at least 4 computer labs (west, east, and business administration lab, Classroom computer lab) and there is also a math lab and even a writing center if you ever need help on anything math or writing oriented (possibly that English paper!)

Greek Life: I think Greeks are not disliked nor does anyone feel that Greeks act as though they are superior to others. Greeks are nice.

3 College Junior

Nightlife: I stay on campus late or go to parties so I rated it based on the ones i have been to. Pretty fun

College Junior

Majors: I haven't had an internship yet at UCF so I can't give a grade...but I hope to land one within the next few semesters.

2 College Junior

Weather: I live in Brevard county so when the weather is bad I have to travel in it.

4 College Senior

Computers: Computers seem to be abundant in Rosen campus even though the network speed is somehow not really fast but it is not a matter, printing service is free in the computer labs, too. I love it!

5 College Senior

Drug Safety: I never see any drug or alcohol incidents in my Rosen campus. People come here for studying and having chance to meet successful people in the industry. Even smoking is prohibited in the campus.

4 College Senior

Off-Campus Housing: Pros: Independence, Privacy, Sense of responsibility.
Cons: More expensive, Transportation, Isolation

4 College Senior

Parking: Just for Rosen College- University Of Central Florida: Give A+ for the permit cost. It is only $5.00 and lifetime valid. However, the space is pretty small. This is also an advantage though since it is safer than parking garage in which something might happen to students without anyone's attention. Usually, there is also enough space for almost all the students, but in exam day, someone coming late has to part the outside parking lot on the rear of campus.

3 College Junior

Nightlife: While there are some clubs around UCF, that are literally right across the street, their covers are quite expensive, even if you're 21. I rather go to parties, but I know people like dressing up sometimes and going out with their friends. I would suggest going to downtown Orlando to I-bar or Backbooth for real bars that almost never have a cover. Really cool scene too!

3 College Junior

Local Atmosphere: Orlando is a huge city, but the UCF campus is actually on the outskirts by Oviedo. Unless you have a car you will have trouble getting to fun places, restaurants off campus and downtown Orlando. There are no museums anywhere near the campus, sadly. Right by UCF there are a few other schools like Full Sail, Valencia and Seminole State schools which make the population around the same age as well.

5 College Junior

Guys & Girls: Everyone is so diverse and fun. I've met so many interesting people on this campus and because UCF has such a large student body you can meet anyone! Lots of different styles, especially indie and surfer. Almost everyone rides a longboard. Lots of hot guys, different styles. Something for everyone.

5 College Freshman

Nightlife: There are many organizations such as Late Knights and CAB that provides activites for students. Some includes watching movies, shopping, pool parties, free food, music and prizes. UCF has Link Loot system where you attend certian events and earn Link Loot points. These accumulated points can be used to win prizes at the end of the semester.

4 College Freshman

Athletics: There are many athletics clubs and organizations at this campus. Students can go to the Recreation and Fitness Center for free as well.

5 College Freshman

Campus Dining: There are food restaurants on campus and off campus. Most of them are popular with students because they off a wide variety of food options and styles. The college provides discount coupons for mosof these food places on and off campus so students can save money.

4 College Freshman

Scholarships: The University of Central Florida has various access to schoalrships that are available. There is a website for this college that lists scholarships opportunites as well as deadlines and requirements. There are also scholarships available depending on your majors and activities. I am an out-of-state student who received received enough financial aid from my college to pay for tuiton and fees and had extra money through disbursements.

4 College Freshman

Campus Housing: Most of the dorms are very clean and are right near classes. You save a lot of gas money walking to class and restaurants.

2 College Junior

Greek Life: Everyone involved with greek life thinks greek life is the bomb but since the community is so small (compared to the rest of campus) it's hard to "run s***" as happens at other schools like FSU and UF. That being said, being involved in greek life is still pretty awesome and its cool to have that community at such a huge school.

5 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: Tons of places to live off campus, lots of apartments at different price points (farther from campus = cheaper) but also a ton of great houses everywhere which I think is a better, cheaper alternative to a house.

3 College Junior

Campus Dining: The food taste/quality is so-so, but honestly there can be good days. There are two on campus dining halls, one closes around 8pm and the other is open till midnight and they open early so no problems there. And if one place has bad food (there are bad days too) you can try the other one.

3 College Sophomore

Athletics: Sports are getting more popular since the building of the Football stadium.

4 College Freshman

Diversity: UCF is a very diverse place! I've met all sorts of people here of different races and sexual preference. There are all sorts of clubs on campus to bring different people together as well as clubs for each race or religion to come together with others of that race/religion. I've made friends from India, China, Latin America, Spain, and Iowa already. There's such a large student body that it's easy to have many different people. However, it does not feel like a large percentage of our school is made up of one type of religion/race/sexual preference/political belief.

Health & Safety: Obviously being in Orlando, the safety won't ever be perfect. However, the police number is printed on the back of everyone's ID card and there are call stations all over campus. I like knowing I can easily call the police if I feel uncomfortable. What I like even more is that I haven't had to call the police. I feel safe walking all over the campus, even when it gets late. I'm a pretty jumpy person, so being somewhere I felt safe was a big deal to me. And there are some crimes, but more or less it's because someone wasn't being smart. Just remember to keep doors locked and be aware of your surroundings. But that's something you need to do everywhere.

UCF is growing by leaps and bounds. The students love to hang out, and they all know how to have a good time. There’s so much to do and there’s something for everyone. Do you really need any more reasons to go to college in Florida?

Orlando is an exciting city with tons of attractions and activities available to all. In many ways, going to school at UCF resembles a four-year vacation (Disney on Sunday, classes on Monday!). Downtown Orlando on a Friday night can, at times, seem like Mardi Gras, and City Walk on a Saturday night isn’t to be missed. Also, Floridians are welcoming and friendly and most students at UCF make friends quickly and easily. Friendly faces and sunny skies, what more could a college student ask for? The stellar academics, up-and-coming sports teams, and state-of-the-art facilities are reason enough to spend the next four years of your life at UCF; the city of Orlando is just one big fringe benefit. Come join us!
