Diversity: Practice What You Preach – When people ask me about my university, describing the diversity of the student body and faculty is one of my first enthusiastic responses. People from all over the country and world come to UCF to teach, learn, and spread their indifference. The campus is very welcoming and people are generally interested and respectful to those of all nationalities and backgrounds.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: UCF is one of the most progressive universities I've seen. I have been in love with the campus environment since my first day there. From the student body and faculty to the sporting events and pep rallies, UCF exudes both tradition and change! Classes are challenging, but keep me engaged and interesting. I am very proud to be a Knight!

Scholarships: Many Available for All Types of People – There is a LOT of money out there for college students. UCF offers many different scholarships and financial aid options that helps make school affordable. Some require financial need while others are awarded based on academics. There is an entire building and website dedicated to UCF scholarships.

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: Cheap and Accessable – Off-campus housing is a much cheaper option than on-campus dorms. Most upperclassmen choose to live with roommates off campus. There are many choices of off-campus housing that are incredibly close to campus. Transportation to and from these off-campus options is widely available.

3 College Freshman

Parking: Limited Yet Available – Parking on campus requires a decal and is under strict regulation by campus authorities. If a student has a parking pass or permit they will be allowed to park in the designated area with ease.

3 College Senior

Parking: I have heard horror stories about parking on campus before I transferred to UCF. I have had way worse experiences at FAU where I would get to school an hour early and still be late to school due to limited parking spots. If you get there about 15-20 minutes before school you won't have an issue. They have many parking garages so parking has not been much of hassle for me.

4 College Senior

Weather: It is Florida, so it is very sunny but very hot and humid. I have never had class canceled due to weather related issues. I haven't had a hurricane day since I was in highschool. We have some serious rain storms which makes driving and parking a little more challenging but that is about it.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: Some of the lectures at orientation I felt were pointless. but, a lot of them were helpful as well! I would recommend letting students get to know each other and the staff and O-Team more! also, the "tour" of the campus could be more involved! it honestly didn't help at all and was a waste of time because the people giving the tour were just pointing at things and talking really fast! not everyone has been on that campus before a lot or have lots of friends yet!

Campus Housing: There are many dorm options available from joint-rooms to private rooms and apartment-style dorms. It's nice to live on campus your first year. It helps you to meet people, partake in campus activities, and get involved. Should you chose to move off after your first or second year, there are great student living apartments nearby that offer shuttle transportation to campus.

5 College Junior

Diversity: UCF is very tolerant of all ethnicities, religions, and sexualities. There are clubs and activities for special interest groups as well as campus-wide activities for everyone, during which, I have never visualized or experienced and discrimination. It's a very harmonious campus.

5 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: University BLVD, across from the campus, has countless restaurants from Dunkin Donuts, McDonalds, Burger King (fast foods) to Chinese, Subway, sit down places (El Cerro's, Applebee's, Friday's, Pai Wei) to frozen yogurt places, smoothie places, sports bars (World of Beer, Buffalo Wild Wings), family places such as Olive Garden, and many ethic places as well.

5 College Junior

Academics: There are hundreds of majors and programs to choose from ranging from forensics, to engineering, to hospitality, to pre-law or pre-med. There are great study areas in the student union, library, in each dorm building, classroom building, and also in many on and off campus restaurants such as Panera, and Starbucks, which are close by,

5 College Junior

Academics: The nursing program is unique because it is a cohort. All the students take all of the classes together, go through the challenges and struggles together, and become very close. It is nice to be a part of a program, but also to branch out and participate in campus-wide activities. It is a very time consuming program, but it is a great experience.

5 College Freshman

Guys & Girls: The diversity of students again is very diverse. It is hard to describe the whole population as one. There are a lot of girls and a lot of good looking ones. They are always a distraction from school work.

5 College Freshman

Nightlife: Always Something to Do – the Nightlife scene is open for all students, regardless of age. Clubs are 18+ (no alcohol unless 21) and there are always clubs and organizations putting on free social activities such as movies, dancing, food, and more! There is always something to do at night.

4 College Freshman

Computers: Nothing to Complain About – The computers work efficiently and there is always a computer open across campus. There are several open computer labs, as well as the computer lab in the engineering building just for engineers, like me. Printing on campus is easy to get to and free in some places. The wireless access in dorms could be improved and faster. A personal computer and printer is recommended because they are much more accessible.

4 College Freshman

Diversity: At the University of Central Florida it is high unlikely you will find two students who are exactly alike. The diversity is unmatched. You will not find such a diverse community almost anywhere on Earth. That is why I love to call this place home.

5 College Freshman

Nightlife: Orlando. Enough Said. Seriously... I don't have anything that can better summarize how magnificent it truly is.

4 College Freshman

Transportation: Buses Are the Way to Go – The fact that the university has a student only bus that runs around gemeni circle, means you will always be on time for your ten-minute-apart classes

1 College Sophomore

Scholarships: I'm never eligible to receive grants and scholarships from UCF. They are not good at giving financial aid.

5 College Junior

Facilities: Always There to Help – UCF has so many great ways to gain opportunities that will help you in the future. There is always internships UCF has set up involving your major that help to faciliate job opportunites for you. There is also a career center that can help you with finding a UCF also has amazing tutors for any and every subject possible and study groups, as well. UCF is absolutely amazing.

5 College Junior

Local Atmosphere: Never Sitting Around – Orlando is amazing! There is always something to do at any and every time of the day and night! The shopping, parks, restauants, bars and clubs are absolutely wonderful! I never want to leave!

4 College Junior

Facilities: Always Something! There is absolutely always something to do at UCF. Whether it's relaxing by the pool, getting some study time in at the library or going out with friends, I never spend a minute bored!

4 College Senior

Local Atmosphere: The atmosphere is great with a lot of different clubs to join. Most people are very nice. Join clubs.

3 College Senior

Computers: The computers are great. They are up to date, the labs are open often, there are plenty of computers. The connection for the wireless is tricky to figure out and goes in and out on your laptop while you are in the classroom so you will want to use the labs sometimes.

UCF is growing by leaps and bounds. The students love to hang out, and they all know how to have a good time. There’s so much to do and there’s something for everyone. Do you really need any more reasons to go to college in Florida?

Orlando is an exciting city with tons of attractions and activities available to all. In many ways, going to school at UCF resembles a four-year vacation (Disney on Sunday, classes on Monday!). Downtown Orlando on a Friday night can, at times, seem like Mardi Gras, and City Walk on a Saturday night isn’t to be missed. Also, Floridians are welcoming and friendly and most students at UCF make friends quickly and easily. Friendly faces and sunny skies, what more could a college student ask for? The stellar academics, up-and-coming sports teams, and state-of-the-art facilities are reason enough to spend the next four years of your life at UCF; the city of Orlando is just one big fringe benefit. Come join us!
