3 College Senior

Overall Experience: Pretty Good So Far – I've been lucky to have some really passionate professors. Of course there are those who are just teaching because its a job. Socializing isn't a must. I'm getting by pretty well as a loner. My biggest complaint is overcrowding.

4 College Senior

Academics: Good Place for an Engineering Student – UCF is in a good location for Engineering students. A lot of tech corporation are in the area and support UCF.

3 College Senior

Academics: I've had a lot of professors who are very passionate about what they teach. They make themselves easily available for help. I would give an A if it were not for the overcrowding. Such large classes (1,600 at times) makes the student/professor relationship less intimate.

5 College Senior

Computers: More Than Adequate – I can always get a computer but I have never needed them during peak times like at finals. The computers have always had the most up to date software and had appropriate internet access. Speed was never a problem and I if I need to print something I have always been able to use the printer in the SGA office.

4 College Senior

Scholarships: Never a Problem for Me – I have received quite a bit of financial aid and have never had any problems. The times I had to submit verification paperwork it was inconvenient but not complicated. Financial Aid was always there to answer my questions and help me out. I attend at a regional campus and only once had to go to Orlando to submit paperwork.

4 College Freshman

Facilities: Everything around campus is fairly new and has a lot of character. The different places on campus provide students with lots of opportunities and everyone is always very nice and helpful. There seems to never be a dull moment on campus as there are always things going on!

3 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: Nice Clean Rooms but a Little Crowded – The rooms are nice and clean. They have a housekeeping service that comes in once a week that cleans your floors and bathroom. It tends to get a little crowded if your living with another person in the same room, and the walls are a little paper thin.Downside to living on campus is that there is very limited housing for non freshmen students.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: A Nice Place – They have a lot of resources available for you at this school. The professors are mostly made up of brilliant people, and you'll find tons of help with studying all around the campus. Try not to let your need to party affect your school work though, and introduce your self to new people all the time it's easy to get lost in the crowd with this school.

1 College Junior

Parking: If you take early morning or late night classes your good but anything after 10 and before 4 good luck on parking

2 College Junior

Overall Experience: Transfer Issues – Coming into the school with a lot of credits tends to be at your disadvantage because it counts against you especially if depend on financial aid. So at this moment im paying out of pocket to get by and work fulltime just to finish school all because i took a few extra NEEDED classes

3 College Junior

Academics: Some Care and Some Don't – Some professors are accessible and care about facilitating learning and helping with your career and some simply care about their egos and less about the students. The career service could do a better job. The facilities are outdated and staff is out of touch. As for psychology, the advisors I have experience with have given information contrary to the current catalog, have not follow up on questions, and are not easily accessible by phone. No response by email either. They are busy and from the job website...they need more of them and need to pay them better. We get emails all the time but they have little substance. As for the psychology and legal studies program, if you read the requirements yourself and know what expected, the online registration is pretty smooth. Everything is there and easy to navigate. Financial aid is a whole other story.

2 College Junior

Nightlife: Downtown is great but clubs are far so stay close to campus and avoid DUI's or get a DD. UCF police are always on the prowl so take care and don'y get caught underage drinking or you could get referred to the student conduct committee.

3 College Junior

Academics: Room for Improvement – The campus is great but there is no parking. The library is old and outdated. Constructing is perpetual. My husband started in 2001 and finished 2 BA's in 03 (construction), an MA in 06 (Construction). We've gone games (construction). The school keeps growing even though there is no money, tuition is being raised at 13 to % per academic year, scholarships are being reduced, grants are gone, and still they build. Started in 2011 and get emails everyday about this area closed this lot, that building, construction construction. It's probably the single worst part of UCF (parking situation: 49,000 plus students + 18, 000 of spaces does not equal a good time.)

The programs they have are good and professors, for the most part are dedicated. The admin process is sketchy. Remember your in college so don't rely on what you are told UNLESS you see it in writing. Think online is the way to go even though they charge you and extra $300 or so to sit at home.

3 College Junior

Greek Life: most greeks keep to themselves and are known to be pretty snobby, though some are nice.

4 College Senior

Local Atmosphere: Lots to Do – Beaches are nearby. Walt Disney and Universal studios.

4 College Sophomore

Local Atmosphere: Many School Activities – There are a countless amount of school-funded free activities. Such as movie nights, concert nights, comedy nights, and much much more. Outside of campus there are some clubs lots of shopping malls and great food locations. A little further out there are tons of fun theme parks that will give you UCF discounts.

4 College Sophomore

Majors: Florida Is Just Low Quality – My family is from Pittsburgh, and looking at the majors in a northern state with more developed education in comparison UCF majors are lacking

College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: What a Joke – How can you even consider this as being important? this is a joke. the very idea that you have these types of questions. You go to school to get skills to survive, not have sex with men and woman, this is a terrible question.

3 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I've come to realize now that upper level education can be a scandal.
I'm a non traditional 33 year old student. I worked as a journeyman welder, and mill write in power plants as family tradition dictated. I wasn't allowed to go to school when I was out of high school. All my life I had dreamed of having an education so now after working for 10 years in the trades, I am paying for my education out of pocket. While taking care of my widowed mother. I find it disgusting that UCF lets such non sense carry on at their campus. Such as the marijuana organization NORML rather then putting more emphasize on hard work. It disgust me to see how many 20 year old children there are wasting their parents money and possibly the states with trying to " change the world" When I was in my early 20's I worked 6/10's a week with grown men and I was expected to produce from my labor in harsh industrial conditions often times putting my health and safety at risk. Therefore, I find UCF to be less serious then what they dictate they are.
Its a shame, because there are so many good instructors there that care about students who want to learn.

3 Recent Alumnus

Off-Campus Housing: Student Housing Complexes on Alafaya Are a Little Sketchy – The student housing across the street from UCF does not have the best reputation. There are however several different apartment complexes close to the campus that are safe and nice areas to live in.

5 Recent Alumnus

Diversity: Very Diverse – I would say that UCF is a very diversity University. There are several different cultures and races seen amongst the student body. There are even clubs that UCF offers for people of certain religions and cultures to come together .

3 Recent Alumnus

Parking: Parking can be some what of a pain at UCF. However, UCF does have their own shuttle service. If you are living near the campus in Orlando, the shuttle stops at several different apartment complexes on Alafaya Trail to pick students up and drop them off in front of their building. Be sure to look over the schedule before riding.
If you are not living near campus, take your classes a little bit earlier. Noon classes are a little difficult to find parking, but it you have a 9 or 10 O'clock class, it is not bad.

4 Recent Alumnus

Overall Experience: UCF is a great place for anyone to receive a college education. They have so much to offer at their school. All UCF campuses are located in nice areas. They are very cleaned with updated technology so that their students are able to receive the best education possible.
Their is also countless clubs and programs to be a part of, great professors and faculty, and numerous benefits for students. Student benefits consist of: discounts on theme park and attraction tickets, free printing in the printing labs, and tons of free events. Their sports events are always fun to go to. Especially around homecoming when they throw several free events and give a ways! I would not want to receive my education anywhere else.

3 College Junior

Academics: No Complaints – My experience at UCF so far has been great. There are many people there to help. Professors are great, workload is fine, and there are many options when it comes to studying.

4 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: Lots of Options! There are a great amount of off-campus housing options. Expensive, cheap, far, close, old, new, etc. Prices vary.

UCF is growing by leaps and bounds. The students love to hang out, and they all know how to have a good time. There’s so much to do and there’s something for everyone. Do you really need any more reasons to go to college in Florida?

Orlando is an exciting city with tons of attractions and activities available to all. In many ways, going to school at UCF resembles a four-year vacation (Disney on Sunday, classes on Monday!). Downtown Orlando on a Friday night can, at times, seem like Mardi Gras, and City Walk on a Saturday night isn’t to be missed. Also, Floridians are welcoming and friendly and most students at UCF make friends quickly and easily. Friendly faces and sunny skies, what more could a college student ask for? The stellar academics, up-and-coming sports teams, and state-of-the-art facilities are reason enough to spend the next four years of your life at UCF; the city of Orlando is just one big fringe benefit. Come join us!
