Campus Housing: Great location but a lot of money. Living in an off campus apartment complex might be more cost-efficient. The bus system isn't that reliable so make sure to leave at least a half hour early.

Campus Dining: The dining hall is not bad but sometime super gross. They need more healthy options

4 College Senior

Facilities: I would say the one thing that set UCF apart from the other schools for me is the internship opportunities. There are so many options and for nearly every major. This program really helps you get ahead in your field and expand your connections. The social scene is also a unique aspect. There are tons of clubs, sports, and groups for everyone and every interest. Many of them meet at least once a month and many have facebook pages so you can browse before you make a serious commitment. Many of the clubs and groups have booths set up around the Student Union during the week to promote their causes.

Off-Campus Dining: There are a ton of dining options around UCF. When I eat out I can barely decide where I want to eat. My favorites are Jimmy Johns, Chipotle, and Ichiban. They are very cheap for what you get and everything is very close to campus. There is a dining option for nearly every variety I want, and it's all very fast. Many of the restaurants that are very close to UCF have loyalty programs rather than discounts. For example if you eat at one restaurant five times, your sixth meal is free.

Facilities: UCF tries to make everything very green friendly. The library is a great place to study. It has several floors, the one you should study on depends on how loud you like it when you study. The floors get more quiet and secluded as you go up. There is also a cafe in the library so you can snack while you study. The student union is an excellent resource for almost anything you need for your classes. It has everything from free printing to free scantrons and blue books for your tests in class. The gym at UCF is also quite amazing. It has everything I ever needed as far as equipment. There are also two pools, a rock climbing wall, and lots of group exercise options. My favorite UCF tradition is spirit splash. This event happens during homecoming week. Everyone gathers around the reflection pond (near the library) and runs into it after a countdown and rally.

Facilities: Very useful when needed to study in the Student Union or library or the reflection pond

Campus Strictness: They are stict about certain things, like underage drinking or caught with possession of drugs

Weather: There aren't really alot of season changes in Florida. There is super hot, a little cooler and then in November and December it can get into the 30's some nights. It is pretty much flip flops all year round.

3 College Junior

Parking: Depends on which garage you park in but frankly the parking garages are always busy, and finding spaces can be difficult. The parking fees are outrageous!

5 College Junior

Local Atmosphere: UCF is a huge campus and no matter when you have class there is always something to do on campus from clubs to sporsts or rallys. The beach and theme parks are only 30 minutes away.

5 College Junior

Majors: I am in the College of Education and the facility is great the building is newer, the class sizes are small, and the professors are well versed in their topics and the work load is normal. You can't be lazy and expect to do the bare minimum and get an A and there is a lot of group work. Don't be the lazy member of your groups and get the work done.

4 College Junior

Majors: It was pretty easy to get into my major but then again I had a very high GPA from my undergraduate work at the local Community College as well as the two schools having an agreement for admission so by getting my AA degree at the Community College I was guaranteed admission to UCF. The only hard part was that the major I was pending for at UCF was being dropped so I had to complete all required courses and exams by a certain date in order to keep the major. It came down to the wire for me but I lucked out. So be aware that if the school has a major that they feel they can't keep for financial reasons, or for lack of enrollment that they will drop it and it will make it hard for you to get admitted or to keep your major.

3 College Junior

Majors: They dropped my major so the number of classes offered to those of us grandfathered in are limited which makes it even harder to schedule the classes needed. If I had to do it all over again I would have probably changed majors and made my major my minor instead. But I'm far too invested at this point to change. Plus if you take more then 180 credit hours because you are working on a completely different major after taking classes for a much different major they cut your financial aid off. So that is keeping me stuck in the major I have because I couldn't afford to change my major!

4 College Junior

Majors: The opportunities offered are great, they really try hard to place you in your first or second choice for locations but the only issue that I have had is that they still make it so you have to schedule 5 classes during the internship so the demands are high!

3 College Junior

Guys & Girls: You can find all kinds of guys at UCF. I have to say the best looking ones you'll find in the gym!

3 College Junior

Parking: It gets hectic, especially at certain times of the day (late afternoon and late morning). Just get to campus about 30 minutes before your class and you should be alright.

2 College Junior

Scholarships: Forms sometimes get lost in the shuffle of other applicants, and the scholarships provided are only applicable to a few groups of individuals. As a white male seeking a degree in Psychology, I am finding it difficult to be eligible for the majority of scholarships provided to other students.

3 College Junior

Weather: The weather can be unpredictable at times (rainy one second and then sunny the next), but no matter the condition the weather never interferes with campus activities.

4 College Junior

Health & Safety: I always feel safe on campus, even at night. There are always people out and about, and the lights on campus all work.

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: You can pretty much find any restaurant you can think of near UCF. There are many options. Student discounts are lacking, but the costs are not too expensive. Definitely check out Lazy Moon! They have really good pizza.

4 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: Orlando is a great place to go to school. The theme parks are not too far away and are fun for a weekend trip with friends. There are restaurants near campus and shopping at Waterford Lakes.

3 College Junior

Nightlife: For a good nigh around UCF you need to get ready for long drives. It means that you need a designated driver or to sacrifice yourself and not drink all night. The good clubs are downtown or at city walk.

3 College Junior

Local Atmosphere: Coming from the big city life of Boston MA to Orlando Florida has been a big change. But overall the local atmosphere at UCF is not that bad if you have the time to hang out and participate during the events. The most exciting thing to do as a college student is the theme parks, which after a while can get pretty monotonous.

3 College Junior

Facilities: The part of the campus I most visit is not aesthetically pleasing because there isn't much greenery and it's right across the street from the road, however the other side of the building is nice with green grass and nice areas to study. The library is large and gives access to so many things! The librarian is super helpful as well.

4 College Junior

Facilities: Since it is a regional campus it is MUCH smaller which creates a more intimate environment for students to connect. The staff is very inviting and willing to help with any of the students' needs!

UCF is growing by leaps and bounds. The students love to hang out, and they all know how to have a good time. There’s so much to do and there’s something for everyone. Do you really need any more reasons to go to college in Florida?

Orlando is an exciting city with tons of attractions and activities available to all. In many ways, going to school at UCF resembles a four-year vacation (Disney on Sunday, classes on Monday!). Downtown Orlando on a Friday night can, at times, seem like Mardi Gras, and City Walk on a Saturday night isn’t to be missed. Also, Floridians are welcoming and friendly and most students at UCF make friends quickly and easily. Friendly faces and sunny skies, what more could a college student ask for? The stellar academics, up-and-coming sports teams, and state-of-the-art facilities are reason enough to spend the next four years of your life at UCF; the city of Orlando is just one big fringe benefit. Come join us!
