Diversity: The predominate race is white/American, followed by black/ African American. But you do see a handful of Hispanics and Asians. There are many people from other countries, i have met a few from Brazil, and some from Russia. They have many programs/ clubs promoting diversity. There is an equal amount of Republican and Democratic students. The LGBTQ community have many events and are open and accepted.

4 College Junior

Guys & Girls: There's all sorts of people with different personalities and styles. There is a lot of diversity. People are pretty social and there are lots of frat and sorority parties happening.

4 College Junior

Local Atmosphere: Its Central Florida so there's plenty of attractions not too distant. There are many stores nearby like Walmart, Best Buy, and Bed Bath Beyond. Good restaurants, both fast service like Chik-fil-a, and a Bahama Breeze close by. There is always an event or activity happening on campus, just gotta check the calendar.

4 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: There is a good mix of guys at UCF. I think there is someone for everyone here.

5 College Sophomore

Majors: Teaching has always been my passion, and the Elementary Education program at UCF is superb. All of my professors are so passionate about this profession and it rubs off on to all of us. They have so much wisdom and tricks that they have learned over the years that get passed down to us. The Teaching Academy and the Curriculum Materials Center (CMC) are the best part about campus. They provide everything that you could/would need for your classes, as well as your internships. I would not do it all over again-- my experience in the college has been the best I could ever imagine it to be. According to the dean's assistant, Dr. Zugelder, 2/3 of the students who graduated in December 2012 had a job lined up. I do not have any concerns about finding a job in my field. So many of the superintendents and principals of the schools in and around Orange county are UCF alumni, and they are more prone to hire UCF graduates.

Drug Safety: It depends on who you asociate with. I am part of the College of Music. It is very disciplined and abuse of these things would not be tolerated. I do not think I would be as successful in my studies with drug and alcohol distractions.

3 College Sophomore

Greek Life: It gives you the feeling that you belong to something but I wouldn't say it is necessary

2 College Senior

Guys & Girls: I gave an average because they are basically average people.

5 College Junior

Weather: Mild winters, warm springs, hot summers, basically can wear shorts and flip flops all year. A pool day just about every day.

5 College Junior

Facilities: Ucf's campus is beautiful. Full of open grass spaces and architectural buildings. I love the Rec center it's two stories and has its own rock climbing wall. Who wouldn't want to work out there.

5 College Junior

Facilities: UCF is a very innovative school. Just walking around the campus and admiring the great architecture just makes you proud to say that you attend that school.

Campus Dining: I do not have a meal plan because I live in an apartment-style dorm, so I have my own kitchen. This kind of living is a great alternative to a meal plan, if you like to cook. But I have heard pretty decent reviews from friends about dining halls, and I've personally eaten at both of the on-campus dining halls, Market Place and Knightro's. They have really great deals that you can go in there and fill a box to-go, this way you can eat in the comfort of your room, or wherever you prefer. Like most college kids, they get sick of eating the same thing over and over, but I've heard UCF does a decent job at switching them up. There open until midnight and one every night, so that's very helpful for night owls!

4 College Freshman

Guys & Girls: There is definitely a variation of both guys and girls at UCF, especially considering we are the second largest University in the nation. I would say the frat and soriety's are about half the students here, Greek Life is very important to them, but if your like me, and Greek Life isn't your thing, you'll be just fine and still have the oppurtunity to meet so many people. I would say Orlando is kind of a big rave scene and a lot of clubs downtown are targeted towards this audience. Most guys and girls that attend UCF seem to be pretty fit, and we have a beaitful gym, so that helps!

4 College Junior

Campus Housing: The dorms are a great option for incoming freshmen, although the variety in style is lacking. I was happy to live on campus once I knew where all of my classes were, and the accessibility of on campus utilities were well within reach.

Academics: I'm doing Computer Science while its among one of the more popular programs. There are alot of questions left unanswered you have to talk to advisers (which seems obvious but registration deadlines sneak up if your not watching out) They have everything planned out so when you register for summer course you can also register for fall.

4 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: There are plenty of fast food in the area but as well as chain restaurants and privately owned ones as well. Personally i've only been to 7 out of the 20-30 restuarants and fast food places in the area. I plan to go to all of them at some point.

4 College Junior

Diversity: There are people of many races among faculty and students. Diversity is something i see often. You really cant take more then 5 feet before meeting someone of a different race, gender or religion. It's a very interesting place to go to.

4 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: Orlando is a very large city with a lot of fun activities to do in your spare time. There is Universal, Disney, Sea World, a variety of other fun options. The local atmosphere is very welcoming and the university is like a town within a town, it is very inviting while very easy to navigate. Plus, many places offer discounts to students.

3 College Freshman

Scholarships: I have only received Florida Bright Futures so I am not too familiar with Florida pre-paid. But my experience with Bright Futures has been very positive, no papers were lost and they were very helpful with any questions that I have had. On the financial aid website, there is a list of a variety of scholarship options, which is very helpful in getting through college debt free.

3 College Sophomore

Weather: The weather in Florida is always crazy. One day it can be cold and rainy and the very next day it will be warm and sunny. You never can tell.

3 College Freshman

Campus Dining: The UCF campus offers many restaurants, but there are not alot of places where you can use your meal plan. The two buffet style dining halls have a very limited variety and some of the food is not fresh daily.

4 College Sophomore

Facilities: I feel like the University of Central Florida is its own little city. There are fast food places to eat, gyms to work out in, tons of activities going on and it's huge! The education program is great and I have thoroughly enjoyed the courses I have taken so far.

4 College Sophomore

Facilities: The student life here at UCF is awesome! There is always something going on. I am on the softball team and our facility is fantastic! Spirit Splash is a huge event during homecoming week where everyone can go into the Reflection Pond/fountain at once. This is the only time of year anyone can ever go in it so tons of people always show up.

3 College Sophomore

Scholarships: I got a decent amount of financial aid and I am pleased with how smooth it went. The only problem I had was that everyone was receiving their money and I had to wait a few weeks longer to get mine.

4 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: You will find a large range of guys and girls at the University of Central Florida. I have all kinds of students in my classes; there are some student-athletes who wear athletic gear all the time, sorority and fraternity students who are always supporting their organizations, and the other students who express themselves in many different ways. The baseball players are the cutest around here from my perspective.

UCF is growing by leaps and bounds. The students love to hang out, and they all know how to have a good time. There’s so much to do and there’s something for everyone. Do you really need any more reasons to go to college in Florida?

Orlando is an exciting city with tons of attractions and activities available to all. In many ways, going to school at UCF resembles a four-year vacation (Disney on Sunday, classes on Monday!). Downtown Orlando on a Friday night can, at times, seem like Mardi Gras, and City Walk on a Saturday night isn’t to be missed. Also, Floridians are welcoming and friendly and most students at UCF make friends quickly and easily. Friendly faces and sunny skies, what more could a college student ask for? The stellar academics, up-and-coming sports teams, and state-of-the-art facilities are reason enough to spend the next four years of your life at UCF; the city of Orlando is just one big fringe benefit. Come join us!
