Local Atmosphere: Orlando is a huge city, so putting UCF here was a great choice. There are so many local theme parks, and also plenty to do in a five mile radius of the campus itself. Dining is also very attracting around UCF, there are so many restaurants to choose from with your friends! We also are home to the Orlando Magic, so NBA games are in short distance! There are more than 3 local malls that have every store you can think of! I love UCF!

5 College Junior

Overall Experience: I Love It Here – Even though its a big school, surprisingly there haunt been a problem in flow of information or communication. There are all kinds of events for all kinds of people. The community is extremely diverse. Its tuition fees is not ridiculously high. The location is superb and the community is very friendly. Anyone would find it extremely easy to fit in here and call this place home. If i could do it all over again, i definitely would!

Athletics: Sports Is Big Here – UCF is very much into sports and athletic encouragement and support. The entire university contributes to the school's athletic spirit. Football is big here. Depending on the day there is a match, classes can even get cancelled. UCF students are called Knights (a term everyone here is familiar with), and our mascot is a knight too!

5 College Junior

Weather: Because UCF is located is possibly the best place, weather conditions are excellent. Even during hurricane season, students are taken care of in an organized manner and the worst that has happened could be excessive rain.
Other than that, all season round, florida has excellent weather conditions. Even during summer, contrary to popular belief, it isnt that humid or hot. Most of the time people stay indoors so there isnt much encounter with the sun anyways.

Diversity: All Kinds of People – UCF is a huge university with a diverse range of students including international students from all over the world. In my first semester i met people from at least 10 different countries. Furthermore, Americans vary from across the states.

4 College Sophomore

Diversity: Very Diverse! UCF is the second biggest university in America, so it is expected to see a lot of different races around campus. Students from all sorts of different countries attend UCF. The diveristy is even shown in the proffesors and staff. Being that UCF is in Orlando Fl, one might assume that it is mostly Hispanics that go here. This is not true at all. I think UCF as a pleasnt mix of race, economic background, religion, and sexual orintation. Everyone is also free to express themselves and not being afraid to show your true self is very encouraged at this school through things like support groups, clubs, and events.

Facilities: So Much to Do, So Little Time – The money we pay as students is never put to waste. There is so much available on campus, I don't know why anyone would leave! The gym offers racquetball and basketball courts, weight and cardio machines, a lap pool, a rock wall, and various group class, so there's something for everyone no matter how you like to get fit. The student union hosts many events each month, and also has rooms for club meetings. There are many places to get a bite to eat there as well, plus the computer lab, the office of student involvement, and the ticket booth, where you can get discount tickets to theme parks around Orlando. Last but not least, there are two amazing places to study. The library has five floors which get quieter the higher you go. So, you can have a silent study period on your own on the fifth floor, then join your friends on the second for a noisier group session. Also there's the All-Knight Study, which is open 24/7 and has different study areas to suit individual needs.

Athletics: Everybody Can Get Involved – Varsity sports are a huge part of the school, Intramural sports are as well, anybody can join an IM team and have a blast.

3 College Sophomore

Academics: A Lot of Intern Opportunities – I am in the college of business at UCF and intern opportunities are everywhere, professors are very willing to help.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: Available Help – The professors have office hours for students multiple times a week and are readily available to help 95% of the time.

3 College Sophomore

Parking: During the day parking is almost always full, make sure to get there earlier than 5 min before.

3 College Junior

Parking: Fills Quickly in the Mornings – Be sure to be on campus at least 30 min before class

4 Recent Alumnus

Drug Safety: Never Saw Drugs – I personally never saw drugs on campus or nearby. Everybody drinks tho

3 College Sophomore

Athletics: Sports Need to Be More Popularized – The University of Central Florida is not known as a dominant sport driven school, but sometimes it would be nice to receive some credibility and support from perhaps local cable providers or the shopping centers other than ESPN reviewing UCF to another well rounded high ranked team a few days before play.

3 College Junior

Athletics: Golden Knights Suck – Ok I'm not going to suck up for the university and say that the are great, because they aren't that good. But the students enjoy going to the games, they are a lot of fun to go to with your friends and have a nice time.

4 College Junior

Campus Strictness: UCF is very strict on their academic policies such as plagiarism and cheating. They are not afraid to have a student expelled is one is caught performing dishonest acts. Dishonesty is one of the 5 big codes of the university

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: So Far So Good – For me it has been great just because I was able attend the UCF campus that is very accommodating to me and where I live and I am still able to go to the main campus to enjoy the campus life there.

4 College Junior

Facilities: It's Good Enough – UCF campus life is cool and nice. The student union makes sure they are up to date with activities happening on campus and they are always coming up with creative events for us the students to enjoy.

5 College Junior

Facilities: Best of the Best – The University of Central Florida is a great school. It is well equipped to satisfy a wide range of majors and students. The campus life is very cool and the environment is lovely.

2 College Sophomore

Weather: What more can I say? It's hot, rainy, and the campus is huge so you have to do a lot of walking. The weather will absolutely impact your experience at UCF

5 College Sophomore

Computers: There are a LOT of available computer areas on campus. Three of them are in the Student Union alone, and are elsewhere on campus as well.

3 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: Alcohol is VERY visible around school- you can definitely see bottles and cans laying about. A lot of students smoke, as well.

3 College Sophomore

Nightlife: Skip the Clubs – Nightlife is for students who are 21 or older. There are a few 18 and older clubs, but I say skip them. House parties are free, the music is better, and you don't have to pay for a cab back to campus.

5 College Freshman

Facilities: You Can't Miss a Thing! UCF is never boring! The events are so much fun and the resources in school are very useful to get the education needed. There are so many food places and hang out spots to meet with new and old friends. Music Mondays, you pass through the Student Union and hear random people playing on the piano. Wednesdays are the days where all these free things are being handed out (everyone loves free stuff)! There are organizations always looking for more members and activities always being promoted on campus. At UCF, You just can't miss a thing!

4 College Junior

Drug Safety: Greek Life – As a member of a sorority on campus, it is not the most common thing to see drugs. Most of the time it is frowned upon by even their friends when partaking in drug use. Drinking is the substance of choice. Everyone is just looking to have a good time, and it is more socially acceptable to drink a beer with your friends than pop pills in the bathroom stall.

UCF is growing by leaps and bounds. The students love to hang out, and they all know how to have a good time. There’s so much to do and there’s something for everyone. Do you really need any more reasons to go to college in Florida?

Orlando is an exciting city with tons of attractions and activities available to all. In many ways, going to school at UCF resembles a four-year vacation (Disney on Sunday, classes on Monday!). Downtown Orlando on a Friday night can, at times, seem like Mardi Gras, and City Walk on a Saturday night isn’t to be missed. Also, Floridians are welcoming and friendly and most students at UCF make friends quickly and easily. Friendly faces and sunny skies, what more could a college student ask for? The stellar academics, up-and-coming sports teams, and state-of-the-art facilities are reason enough to spend the next four years of your life at UCF; the city of Orlando is just one big fringe benefit. Come join us!
