Nightlife: There is always something going on in UCF. It could be a small dorm floor kick back or a Frat house kegger. The school also plans movie nights, raves, and school wide parties in the arena. As for transportation you have a number you can dial on the back of your id for a free ride anywhere on campus, as long as you tip the driver! Off campus there are clubs that are always fun but have entrance fees so it's only a once in a while thing. Bars are for 21+ so i don't know much about those.

Diversity: UCF is not a "white only" school. I see people every day that could be from places that I can't even find on a map. Just by walking past the student union center i am handed flyers by various religious groups to join their game night, bible reading, or blessed supper. I have a laugh at the rival Democrat and Republican club tents that are positioned side by side. They even have an Indian meditation group that always plays this strange music but seems like something i could do if I ever had the time or drive to sit down with them. I see all of this just by walking from one class to another.

Health & Safety: Safety is great on campus. Security is always driving throught parking garages and around campus. If your there at night you can call for an escort so you dont have to walk around campus at night alone.

4 College Junior

Weather: Rain is the biggest problem. If you pack an umbrella you will be fine.

3 College Junior

Parking: Parking permits are expensive. I live at off campus housing and UCF offers a free shuttle. Parking on campus can be crazy depending on the parking garage. To get around campus most students either walk, ride a bike, skateboard, or scooter.

4 College Junior

Guys & Girls: Everyone is free to be themselves. No need to dress a certain way. Dress how you want.

2 College Senior

Campus Dining: There is a good variety, but the chain restaurants on campus are express versions.

Scholarships: At orientation I was told to make sure I apply for all of the scholarships that I can because they always have ones that go unawarded; however, I applied the past two years and have not recieved one yet.

3 College Senior

Off-Campus Dining: Dining around campus is nice because there is always something open, but they mostly hire college students so sometimes it's hard to find good service.

4 College Senior

Academics: Education Internships – UCF partners with 11 counties to place interns which is nice because you don't have to stay around the college if you do not want to.

5 College Senior

Academics: Elementary Education Professors – Once I finally got to my upper level courses, the professors were great! They are all passionate about what they teach and want to make sure you succeed!

Local Atmosphere: No Money No Fun – There is plenty of fun things to do in Orlando with theme park, water parks, and the downtown nightlife. However, the poor college kid doesn't always have the funds to take part in all this excitement. There are still a few local hangout places but the place is seriously lacking on low-cash entertainment.

Athletics: If They Were Good It Would Be Good – No tradition in sports and well we all knew what happened with their programs...

3 College Senior

Campus Dining: I'm a Chipotle Lover – They're are alot of places to dine around campus and on campus. But on my college student salary i stick to basic meals and sometimes chipotle.

Local Atmosphere: Sooo Much! Hello! We live in Orlando. Do I need to make a list!? I shall.
Disney
Universal
Islands of Adventure
Amway Center
UCF
Millennia Mall
Florida Mall
Waterford Lakes
Many movie theaters
Center of Florida so perfect driving distance from UF or USF or any other school you want to visit really
UCF in itself hosts so many different events and activities like LateKnights, Rec sports, Light Up UCF
and more

Health & Safety: Health Center and Safety – We have an awesome Health Center that provides great services for when we are sick. There are many different health facilities in the Center. They have psychiatry, dentist (which I personally wouldn't go back to), woman's doctor, and a regular doctor. For safety, there are many poles with buttons on them that you can press if there is an emergency. Also, there is a service called SEPS where guys drive around in golf carts and will pick you up and bring you to your car between the hours of 9pm to 2am (don't quote me on those hours).

4 College Senior

Off-Campus Dining: There are so many places to eat and they are all over the place all around UCF.

3 College Senior

Weather: When it rains, you need an umbrella. The size of this school is so large that without an umbrella, you will get soaked. Also, there are some parts where puddles become ponds. When it's August, its so hot. I sunburn walking to class. And then when your in class, it's freezing. So you never really know what to expect.

3 College Senior

Off-Campus Dining: Little Better Than Average – I rated it average because there is little to none vegetarian or vegan restaurants. It doesn't have that much variety.

4 College Senior

Guys & Girls: Beautiful People – There is many different types of people at UCF. There is someone for everyone. Lots of good looking friendly people.

4 College Junior

Guys & Girls: Attractive and Fun? Yes! I was extremely shocked when I transferred to the University of Central Florida at how many attractive people there were, both guys and girls. As for the types of people here, they range from one end of the spectrum to the other. I noticed that there are many guys, and a good handful of girls, who are into long boarding. It's pretty interesting to watch them skate around campus. It also seems that most of the population loves to party, which is a plus if you love to party because there will never be a dull moment.

4 College Junior

Majors: Helping Us Reach Our Goals – I am very content with the University of Central Florida's programs for business majors. They seem more involved in the our goals and concerns for the future and give many options to help us for after graduation.

4 College Junior

Majors: So Many Options to Grow – I am a transfer student at the University of Central Florida as a business management major and so far it has been a good start. I am enjoying my classes and the professors that teach them. They have so much to offer and I have plenty to learn. My major and the College of Business have an abundance of opportunities for me to grow into my major such as internships, clubs, professional fraternities, volunteering, etc.

4 College Junior

Campus Strictness: Academic Integrity Is Important – The campus doesn't really seem to be overly strict for social life. They are very serious about academic honesty. Integrity is a big deal at the University of Central Florida. Each professor takes it very seriously and there are serious consequences, such as failing grades and expulsion from the university, for academic dishonesty.

4 College Junior

Academics: At the University of Central Florida, the professors are engaging and interactive with the classes. The curriculum is much tougher than my previous university so as a transfer student it was a difficult adjustment. However, the professors and staff here are very helpful and encouraging to help the scholars attending UCF to succeed. The amount of work and studying that must be done to pass the classes is set at a high standard and can be plenty. I believe it is given to us that way in our best interests to stay active in our studies and achieve the grades we want and can earn. My area of study, Business, is very popular at UCF which makes it quite easy to make friends who can help and encourage along the way to earning my degree.

UCF is growing by leaps and bounds. The students love to hang out, and they all know how to have a good time. There’s so much to do and there’s something for everyone. Do you really need any more reasons to go to college in Florida?

Orlando is an exciting city with tons of attractions and activities available to all. In many ways, going to school at UCF resembles a four-year vacation (Disney on Sunday, classes on Monday!). Downtown Orlando on a Friday night can, at times, seem like Mardi Gras, and City Walk on a Saturday night isn’t to be missed. Also, Floridians are welcoming and friendly and most students at UCF make friends quickly and easily. Friendly faces and sunny skies, what more could a college student ask for? The stellar academics, up-and-coming sports teams, and state-of-the-art facilities are reason enough to spend the next four years of your life at UCF; the city of Orlando is just one big fringe benefit. Come join us!
