Greek Life: Greek life at this school is not bad at all the sororities at the school keep the campus alive and they are always involved in doing things that will help improve the school. Not just about partying 24/7.

3 College Junior

Weather: It is hot hot hot. Over the summer Orlando can tend to be bipolar and have random rain storms that last only five minutes and then the sun will come out like nothing ever happened.

5 College Junior

Campus Dining: There are so many options to eat. If you don't have a meal plan there are tons of good places such as Subway and Chick-fil-a.

4 College Junior

Guys & Girls: Students are well dressed and well mannered. Everyone has great school spirit. Both boys and girls are helpful in assisting new freshmen and transfer students.

5 College Junior

Athletics: I would say the athletics at UCF are amazing. They offer so many different types of sporting events that it gives everybody a chance to join in. Being a university they have a fantastic recreation center including a rock climbing wall and inside running track. UCF uses the power generated from the treadmills to power the electricity inside the gym which I thought was rather cool. Trying to join a sports does not seem too difficult either. UCF offers sports at high levels, intermediate and even beginners levels, which is great for any new comers. The gym at UCF is always busy and I think it is great that they are open so late at night, especially for people who have to work a lot.

Guys & Girls: There are many types of both guys and girls at the University of Central Florida. I, myself am an international student from the UK ( United Kingdom). I have noticed that most people who attend UCF as in fact from Florida or not very far away. Many people attend UCF due to the location and the fact that it is within easy access to many community colleges and high school. Most of the guys are athletic, and I think the weather has a lot to do with it. Being in such a hot place during the summer, the guys all like to impress the girls and so spend a lot of time working out in the gym. The girls are all very friendly, of course there are going to be clicks like with every school, but I believe UCF overall is a very friendly environment.

Weather: The weather in Florida is mostly great. The summer can be a bit uncomfortable with such high temperatures but overall students make the most of it! Often students study outside by the reflection pond and take great advantage of the trees for shade. Inside the campus is always air conditioned which is also very helpful! The only disadvantage about the weather is that in the summer, most, if not every afternoon there are thunderstorms making getting around campus very difficult, unless you are prepared to get very wet!

3 College Junior

Campus Housing: I do not live on campus due to cost but have often visited friends living on campus. I like how some of the campus housing has great facilities for example pools, bike racks etc. These can prove very helpful to students.
I think that there needs to be more bike racks though because often students run out of space and cannot leave their bikes anywhere and so have to take them into their dorms, which just makes the housing area more crowded.

3 College Junior

Parking: I would say that the parking permit for UCF main campus is expensive but saying that there is usually somewhere to park. Often spaces fill up quickly around busy times, for example mornings and lunchtimes but in the evenings it is much easier to find a space. I am lucky enough that I attend UCF's Rosen Campus where the parking is free! I am very grateful for this, although have had to purchase a main campus parking decal for when I want to go up to main campus for special events and to visit friends.

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: I do not live off campus but all of the people I know that do rave about how nice it is to have their own room and not be restricted by what happens because of an RA.

3 College Sophomore

Transportation: The shuttles that go off campus to apartments are nice but they are not always helpful in getting to other places when you do not have a car. Having to go to an apartment complex nearby and then walk is sometimes not an option if groceries are needed.

3 College Sophomore

Nightlife: Plenty of places to go but they are always over crowded and sometimes cost can be a problem depending on where you go.

3 College Junior

Academics: I came to University of Central Florida because it is a widely well known university not just in Florida, but nationwide. What I have seen so far is that the students' main way of survival through classes is to form study groups. Most of the classes on campus average around 300 students so you do not get a close relationship with professors. Also, the campus is pretty big so it can take a while getting from one side of the school to the other if you do not skateboard or own a bicycle. Despite all this, the people here are really nice and you can always find help when you seek it.

3 College Junior

Drug Safety: Drug and alcohol visibility is at it's lowest. There will always be students that break the rule and have some type of drugs on them but I don't see it very much on campus. As for usage and peer pressure, students on this campus do party a lot, therefor the usage and peer pressure to drink and is pretty high, however, it is all done off campus. The main drug that is being used by students is marijuana. The rules and policy on drugs on alcohol are clear and I don't know any students who would intentionally break them.

4 College Junior

Guys & Girls: There are lots of good looking people attending UCF. Most of whom I know and have met are very active in partying and going out. However, I have noticed, in mainly the guys that I know, that they study just as hard as they party. Everyone I have met knows how to separate their time for leisure from their time dedicated for their academic studies.

5 College Sophomore

Facilities: The student center and John T. Washington center give a good variety for places to hang out and get supplies. There are a lot of perks and bonuses that come with being a UCF student, like the Recreation and Wellness Center, the Therapy Clinic, the Library and just so much stuff. Definitely worth it to go there for all the access to facilities you get.

4 College Sophomore

Scholarships: It was fairly easy once I got the fafsa done, which my scholarships and loans are done through. There was a bit of hassle because they don't accept Visa cards (which I happened to have) when I was doing the payment on the balance of what was left over, but as far as the actual handling of scholarship it went about as well as you'd expect.

2 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: I had to deal with the housing staff in charge of the Towers at Knights Plaza. A lot of the time they'll bend over backwards for athletes and honors students regardless if they're the ones at fault or not. Also, they're very confusing to deal with and don't talk to each other - to get the room I wanted I had to wait until after the actual time to pick housing had passed, and I got lucky seeing as no one explained to me exactly what I needed to do. The dorms themselves are nice considering I get my own room, but wow what a hassle. Almost not worth it.

4 College Sophomore

Transportation: The buses around the campus are really handy, although they don't always arrive at the times they're supposed to. But when they do show up they're excellent transportation, as well as the program the school has with the city buses to provide transportation into the city. The campus buses are free (which is really nice) and the city buses aren't all that expensive (not that the school has a say in that, but whatever.)

4 College Junior

Athletics: Our football team is on their way to great success! We have a fantastic track and field team, as well as our baseball and cheer leading teams have won many awards.

4 College Junior

Campus Strictness: I love how UCF promotes students getting involved and networking with each other. However, they do not tolerate academic dishonesty or breaking any of what UCF calls their Golden Rules.

4 College Junior

Academics: The professors are very knowledgeable about their subject matter and many of them have completed several years of research on their specific career industries.

College Senior

Drug Safety: I'm not entirely sure on this issue. I can say that underage drinking is a common occurrence, but i'm not sure about drugs.

3 College Senior

Academics: Unfortunately my major is pretty much solely offered online for the last two years. I think there are certain aspects of my major that can really help with grad schools and experience. There are some classes that relate to the area one would want to end up in the future. The workload for some classes is a lot, but the online classes are somewhat of a joke.

4 College Junior

Academics: I recently graduated from the Hospitality college (and now I'm continuing my education at UCF) and it was a fantastic experience. My professors were great mentors who truly cared about my academic and professional success. The curriculum provided great scenarios about the hospitality industry and it prepares students for their future.

UCF is growing by leaps and bounds. The students love to hang out, and they all know how to have a good time. There’s so much to do and there’s something for everyone. Do you really need any more reasons to go to college in Florida?

Orlando is an exciting city with tons of attractions and activities available to all. In many ways, going to school at UCF resembles a four-year vacation (Disney on Sunday, classes on Monday!). Downtown Orlando on a Friday night can, at times, seem like Mardi Gras, and City Walk on a Saturday night isn’t to be missed. Also, Floridians are welcoming and friendly and most students at UCF make friends quickly and easily. Friendly faces and sunny skies, what more could a college student ask for? The stellar academics, up-and-coming sports teams, and state-of-the-art facilities are reason enough to spend the next four years of your life at UCF; the city of Orlando is just one big fringe benefit. Come join us!
