Transportation: The transportation system of UCF is great, there are many different buses with many different routes that go around the UCF area to various housing areas and even the mall near campus. In addition to the many routes they run from very early in the day to very late.

Weather: Classes don't get cancelled due to the weather unless it's a very strong hurricane, and those are rare. It rains quite a bit here too and, because of awesome construction and layout, the school floods every time you get 1" of rain or more. When it's not raining you can expect the temperature to be at least 85 degrees Fahrenheit during the summer and around 50 degrees during the winter. Lots of people hang out outside on clear days at least.

Scholarships: The school processes your FAFSA quickly and it tries to give you as many government sponsored scholarships as well. I've been able to attend school for free until this year because of it. The reason this year costs money is due to federal changes in financial aid eligibility that magically knocked me out of receiving a certain grant.

To get the best out of financial aid, fill out the FAFSA. After that, look at the financial aid Web page and look for other scholarships to fill out. Apply to as many as you can and remember that the least anyone can tell you is no. If all else fails, you can take out a loan. Try to leave that as a last resort, if you can. Go for subsidized loans because the government pays your interest while you attend school.

Local Atmosphere: I absolutely love the UCF campus. The grass is always green, the students overall seem very friendly, events occur quite often at school, its just a great environment overall.

Scholarships: It took a few visits to get my financial aid approved because I was applying for instate tuition, but other than that the financial aid office is very helpful. Just drop in and they will gladly help you!

Health & Safety: I always feel safe at UCF. There are emergency communication poles everywhere I look. I see some sort of security every time I drop by the school. The school security sends regular emails to aware students of any occurrences in the area, and what to watch out for.

4 College Junior

Scholarships: UCF is great about getting your financial aid in hassel free and they have many grants

5 College Junior

Facilities: UCF is a very moder and clean campus. We literally have the best and biggest gym I have ever seen which encourages me to work out. Plus, there are computers and free printing throughout campus.

4 College Junior

Campus Dining: The didning options are very good because there are so many options. The thing is that an average meal will run you about $7-8 which is something to be careful with if you are watching your wallet

4 College Sophomore

Majors: I definitely plan on having an internship, I'm hoping next semester or over the summer. I think that internships help someone get real world experience in something they're interested in and lets them get their feet wet to see if that's what they really want. My main concern is if I find what I want for the semester I want to do it during, and if it is paid or not.

3 College Sophomore

Greek Life: The Greek life at UCF is a great influence on campus. They increase the happy atmosphere at tailgating and help raise money for organizations. The Greeks also help by donating money to the school, having grill outs, and throwing parties at Lake Claire on campus.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: UCF has a huge campus, but a one on one thought basis. There are many meetings and organizations that are put together for academics and group help so that students don't feel alone. Majority of professors are available for office hours and upon appointment. There are also counselors and advisors that are available on walk-in and appointment. There are many people available during the school day to help students with everything, including curriculum, class registration, workload, and study help.

5 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: At UCF you will find a diversity of students, our university has students from all over the nation and the world. It includes guys and girls from every social group and with an array of ideas. The majority of guys are athletic, smart, driven, and love to get involved in student occasions. There are many different types of girls, but they all get along; cheerleaders, artists, and engineers.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: My major is well rounded in course availability and certificates that can go with it. My program has five different tracks and an array of minor courses to go along with Criminal Justice Major. The workload is competitive and demanding, but it comes naturally to those who enjoy the subjects. The facilities are spacious, new, and high tech, they make it easy to do presentations and hear professors. The Criminal Justice department has many internships to choose from, I am just starting to look at all my options and it is going to be hard to choose from.

4 College Junior

Majors: I am an Advertising and Public Relations major, and thus far it has been very interesting, and what's nice is that it isn't a ton of busy work. I am however disappointed with my intro to advertising professor, he's never even advertised! Another not so interesting class is Mass Media Research Methods, basically if you've taken a psychology or a statistics class this is all review.

4 College Junior

Transportation: As far as transportation goes there are some options. If you live off campus then your apartment probably has a shuttle to UCF and there is the lynx bus system. One thing that is nice is the bus to Rosen college from the main campus, it saves you a lot of hassle and money. If you stay on campus, or have a friend with a car its pretty easy to get around, otherwise you really have to have your own car to get anywhere.

3 College Junior

Facilities: The Recreation and Wellness center is really nice, but it's difficult to get into any of the popular classes like Zumba, and the rock climbing wall isn't really very fun unless you have a friend with you. UCF attempts to provide events for students such as movie nights, and other fun things. A big part of the university is the Football games and tailgating.

3 College Junior

Local Atmosphere: Orlando has plenty to do if you have the funds and transportation to do it. There is the night-life that is around UCF and downtown. We have some cultural things to do downtown at the Bob-Car, and there is the Amway which hosts the Orlando Magic as well as some other cool events. UCF it's self has a very nice arena and during the winter they do some nice things for students. Of course the Theme parks cannot be left out, though there expensive and a minimum of a thirty minute ride.

2 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: Most off campus housing, while close to campus, is a little run down, and the nicer places, like sterling, are rather expensive. Also the roads are a challenge and it can be somewhat unsafe depending on your apartment complex.

5 College Freshman

Facilities: There are so many things to do, dear goodness. Right off the bat, even at orientation before you attend classes, they are throwing all kinds of things at you. Welcome Week, Peagasus Palooza, Knights Rave, Late Knights, tailgating football games, Homecoming week traditions--all of it. You really get to learn what it's like to be a Knight. As for the facilities, The Rec Center is very popular, but never filled to the brim, as there's so much variety in the equipment and sports facilities. The Library is huge, but it's often difficult to find a printer. There is a cafe in there, and the staff is also so kind. UCF is fantastic in that it has so much to offer for its students.

4 College Freshman

Diversity: As an Asian American, I can say that I haven't met with any kind of prejudice on campus regarding race. There are a phethora of Asian community organizations, adding to the 400+ clubs this university has to offer. As for students with varying economic backgrounds, everyone's in the same boat. They're all trying to get through college, so there's a mutual understanding. Those living in the more expensive housing aren't prejudiced towards those living in the cheapest housing. There are separate clubs for political beliefs and they tend to respect each other's space. Religious student organizations are available to join, and there have been no issues. Honestly, I have yet to encounter any kind of prejudice or harassment of those with varying sexual orientations, either. I'm sure it exists, but as far as I've seen, there hasn't been any kind of hate.

4 College Junior

Athletics: the school supports the football team and has excellent support from professors as well.

4 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: there are many convienently located in walking distance. there is a lot of variety and different prices. since these are all near campus, pricing and discounts are attractive

4 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: There are many places to eat around UCF. I personally like Mo's and their Monday specials.

5 College Junior

Local Atmosphere: My area is great. I live close to the University of Central Florida and Disney World!!!

UCF is growing by leaps and bounds. The students love to hang out, and they all know how to have a good time. There’s so much to do and there’s something for everyone. Do you really need any more reasons to go to college in Florida?

Orlando is an exciting city with tons of attractions and activities available to all. In many ways, going to school at UCF resembles a four-year vacation (Disney on Sunday, classes on Monday!). Downtown Orlando on a Friday night can, at times, seem like Mardi Gras, and City Walk on a Saturday night isn’t to be missed. Also, Floridians are welcoming and friendly and most students at UCF make friends quickly and easily. Friendly faces and sunny skies, what more could a college student ask for? The stellar academics, up-and-coming sports teams, and state-of-the-art facilities are reason enough to spend the next four years of your life at UCF; the city of Orlando is just one big fringe benefit. Come join us!
