4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: Lots of decent restaurants within walking or short driving distance from campus.

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: Most Off-campus housing complexes have shuttles that run directly to campus and it is MUCH cheaper than staying in the dorms.

5 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: UCF is located in the town of Orlando. Trust me you will have plenty of options when it comes to off-campus dining. Maybe even too much options.

5 College Sophomore

Diversity: Florida, I believe, is a major center cultural diversity. This is especially so at UCF. I recently moved here from the Tallahassee area, as I was planning to attend FSU, and can honestly say I feel more at home here than anywhere else in Florida.

4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: I dont live on campus but I always feel safe when Im on campus

5 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: Its a great area to be in. Downtown Orlando is like a 20 minute drive and all the theme parks aren't too far either. Its also less than an hour from the beach. They have a lot of shops and restaurants in the immediate area as well.

4 College Freshman

Academics: I am an Interpersonal/Organizational Communications major. I haven't taken many classes for my major yet. However, I know they have a lot of internships available for Communications majors.

3 College Freshman

Weather: Since UCF is in Florida, its usually sunny and warm. However, it does rain at least a little bit almost every day until about November. It doesn't get too bad, though, if you have an umbrella.

4 College Freshman

Transportation: I personally don't use UCF's transportation because I live on campus and have my own car. However, I know that there are always shuttles running on and off campus that will take you to most off-campus student housing and popular shopping centers.

5 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: Off campus housing is affordable and affiliated with on campus housing. This makes payment easier, the financial aid can be dispersed to pay for rent. Also, the shuttle system is ver reliable, so I have heard. I have many friends that live off campus even though it's our first year.

4 College Freshman

Scholarships: I received all of my financial aid at one time. Many students struggled with having to refile tax documents and the lines in the financial aid office are very long. Communication with the financial aid office is slow.

4 College Freshman

Campus Dining: I have a meal plan, although the food is good and they offer variety; I still find myself buying food on campus.

3 College Freshman

Athletics: I believe that school spirit is at a high, but it could be better. Although tailgating is a big part of sports here at UCF, the actual number of people attending games is low.

3 College Freshman

Transportation: Since I own a car I don't need to use the transportation available on campus, but I have friends that do. They have shuttles that pick up and drop off throughout the day/night to all of the nearby apartment complexes as well as to places like grocery stores and plazas.

4 College Freshman

Facilities: UCF is a beautiful campus in Orlando, Florida. I think many students, especially native Floridians choose to come to UCF because of the many attractions, including Disney World, that are in the area. On top of that, UCF has a diverse set of academic programs. For me, I am taking advantage of the Pre-Professional advising on campus because I will eventually apply to vet school. This office is so helpful in making decisions and they help you in terms of what to do to be accepted into professional schools especially those in law, medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, etc.

4 College Freshman

Facilities: I love the campus life here at UCF. There are many resources available around campus that are conveniant and sometimes free for students. There are many dining options around campus. The Library is very large and has a lot of resources available. Our recreation and wellness center is state of the art and there are group exercise classes available for students as well. The student union or "the heart of campus" has many study spots, places to eat, free printing, and so on.

3 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: I have been at UCF for two semesters and I don't find it to be very strict. I have only seen one obnoxious case of the police force when an officer was yelling and following students for walking before the crosswalk sign said go. Besides that, I have not witnessed any other strict policies being enforced.

3 College Senior

Off-Campus Dining: The places are mostly chains. I wish there were more mom and pop places.

4 College Senior

Academics: Everything is pretty good. The gen ed classes are pretty easy.

3 College Senior

Campus Dining: The places around campus are good. there are lots of options for people on a small budget.

4 College Senior

Academics: I came to ucf for the music program. its is a fantastic program!

4 College Freshman

Facilities: UCF grants many opportunities for upward advancement. Additionally, there is no shortage of activities to become involved in, whether it be student-government, Knight-a-thon, I am THAT Girl, etc. I am proud to attend a University with such amazing opportunities.

3 College Freshman

Computers: the computers are extremely helpful, however, the computer labs are always crowded and busy.

4 College Freshman

Academics: The classes are very fair and reasonable. Although there is a lot of workload, if you work hard in the class, you will be fine. The teachers are fair and know what they are talking about.

4 College Freshman

Facilities: Plenty of things to do here, you're surrounded by plenty of people and opportunities. And you can easily go off campus to find almost anything within a few miles of the school because of its great location. Work load isn't bad, the social scene is amazing and I absolutely love the campus.

UCF is growing by leaps and bounds. The students love to hang out, and they all know how to have a good time. There’s so much to do and there’s something for everyone. Do you really need any more reasons to go to college in Florida?

Orlando is an exciting city with tons of attractions and activities available to all. In many ways, going to school at UCF resembles a four-year vacation (Disney on Sunday, classes on Monday!). Downtown Orlando on a Friday night can, at times, seem like Mardi Gras, and City Walk on a Saturday night isn’t to be missed. Also, Floridians are welcoming and friendly and most students at UCF make friends quickly and easily. Friendly faces and sunny skies, what more could a college student ask for? The stellar academics, up-and-coming sports teams, and state-of-the-art facilities are reason enough to spend the next four years of your life at UCF; the city of Orlando is just one big fringe benefit. Come join us!
