Campus Housing: It all depends on your roommates, honestly! The facilities are okay.

Health & Safety: I have never felt unsafe at University of central Florida. They are police men and campus security watching the area. They also have cameras almost all over campus. However, you should always take precaution where ever you are.

Parking: Better to Walk, take a bus, or bike. With over 60,000 students, it's difficult to find parking at all! The price is high for those who chose to buy a permit and one must always come early in the morning or risk not finding parking at all! In addition, just because one finds parking, it'll likely not be near your class.

Campus Housing: The dorms have special keys so they are relatively safe for those who feel insecure. Upperclassmen have access to better dorms called Towers but they are pricey. There are new dorms called Neptune that may be better than the older dorms of Libra and Apollo. These dorms are for the freshmen and are dirty, old and very dull. Its almost like living in a cement prison while sharing it with 3 other people. The academic village of Nike and Hercules is where one would want to stay for their freshmen year. It is apartment style where each person has their own room and share their bathroom with only one other person as compared to sharing a room with one other person and sharing the bathroom with 3 other. Northview is the newest option for both freshmen and upperclassmen. They are off campus but affiliated with the school.

Academics: I am in the College of business. I am majoring in accounting and so far happy with everything the college has offered me. My favorite part of the course so far was cornerstone. Its a class that helps you build up leadership, business, communication and entrepreneur skills. in this class you form a group of 5 to 6 people, who will raise money for a certain cause. In order to pass, the class you have to raise a minimum of $1000. Our group got to raise a total of $1250 for a group of kids at a school who were having financial issues with getting clothes, uniform, books etc. Some groups raised money for nonprofit organizations that help poor kids, individuals suffering from cancer, etc. It was a very nice experience.

Campus Dining: Expensive and Fattening – Though the school attempts to provide healthy alternatives as well as calorie counts, it does not do a good job on providing cheaper meal plans. It can be hard to control one's appetite when exposed to the buffet style of food. To get one's money worth of food, they would have to eat large unhealthy meals every time they entered the dining hall. However there are other restaurant options at the student union.

Local Atmosphere: Orlando is the perfect place to have a campus! There are beaches just 30 minutes away, all the major theme parks less than a hour away and downtown night life can be easily accessible with party buses less than $10. There are plenty of shopping malls! If you have more to spend Mall of Millenia, Florida Mall and the premium outlets are the places to go! Smaller malls like the Waterford Lakes Pavillion, Oviedo Mall and Orlando Fashion Square are no more than 30 minutes away from the campus. Orlando is the center of many large events like Megacon at the convention center and the games and concerts at the Amway. There are many events going on year round so its never boring being in the center of it !

Academics: My health informatics and information management major required a separate application after completing general education courses and some prerequisites. It required an essay, 3 recommendations, criminal background check, extracurricular activities, a beautiful resume and transcripts. Though the program is easier to get into than the Nursing program. It does include a lot of courses that weed out kids like anatomy and physiology. The director of the program is great and is very willing to help out all her students and potential program students! She gives great advice and nudges us in the right direction by showing us places where we may get experience as a volunteer or as an intern!

Transportation: Unforunately, UCF is located in florida not New York. They do have a public bus transportation for students;however, you can only go so far with it.

Academics: Studying at University of Central Florida has been a great experience. My professors so far have been very good at teaching the material. They were also very willing to assist in any questions you had or problems. They really want you to do well regardless of the fact they see so many students a day. There are always TAs to help with homework problem or tests. The teachers encouraged discussion in the classes all the time so its good to know the material. Some professor encourage you to do more work but its worth it at the end. All the work makes you know the material very well.

Local Atmosphere: The University Of Central Florida is in a great are Florida. The amusements parks such as Disney, Sea world, and Universal Studios are just 45 minutes away from the school. Daytona beach which is just a short drive away has a great beach scenery which to me is important because I love the beach. However, the campus is just filled with so much to do. It's so big it has its own food court, barber shop, fashion stores. I just moved to Orlando and there is just so much to do and explore that have to give it a B so far.

4 College Sophomore

Computers: The computers at the school were recently updated. We have free printing anytime we want. It is a very nice setup

3 College Sophomore

Weather: The weather is very hot at UCF. There is not much shade at this school unless you are near a building

2 College Sophomore

Athletics: I am not a huge fan of the UCF athletics. Our school is the largest school in the country, but our sports program isn't great.

3 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: I'm sure there are drugs at UCF, but I am not apart of that. Most of my friends don't are not involved. Drinking is the main scene at UCF parties

2 College Senior

Scholarships: The financial aid advisers tend to just want to get you out of the office as quickly as possible. They want you to do everything online, on your own, and if you require help from them, they treat you as if you are ruining the rest of their day by making them actually do something!
You can lots of scholarships online, though.

5 College Senior

Majors: The selective process of getting into my program was great. I got to speak to the director one-on-one, and she was very honest about what could be expected in every step of the way. She is very honest, and wont string you along if she doesn't feel the program is a right fit for you.

5 College Junior

Campus Dining: Great. Other people complain but they obviously grew up with chefs making their meals.

4 College Senior

Weather: The random rain in Florida can make it a little cray if you have to get from building to building between classes, especially if you have to get across campus.

3 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: Only been at one off-campus housing. So far, I can't complain. Most of the downsides of student housing is due to students acting like children and treating the place horribly.

5 College Junior

Guys & Girls: If they're not Channing Tatum good looking their personality will make up for it.

5 College Senior

Nightlife: Students 21 and older can enjoy the nightlife. The atmosphere is very pleasant and fun in itself but when you throw the great music in...the night seems to take on a personality of its own. So what that you have to walkk to and from or take a cab...it's worth it. Yes, things are a little more expensive as that is the life of a student at UCF

5 College Senior

Majors: the Legal Sudies program at UCF is one of the best and is approved by the American Bar. Too many times students attend a legal studies course as a precursor to law school only to find out thier credentials as a paralegal/prior course work are not recognized by the Bar rendering them inelligible to get into law school or sit for the LSAT. The faculty is great!. They are all very knowlegable as they are Judges and attorneys. The workload is geared to the subject; not mundane, or irrelevant. I have not entered into an internship yet.

5 College Senior

Majors: The only problem I encountered was immunizations. I originally come from South Dakota and was given all my shots as a child but my mother didn't have the records and I couldn't get ahold of them so I had to be tested and the test showed I was lacking one of my immunizations so I had to get immunized otherwise the application procedure went very smooth. I was a former SSC student and the process for SSC students is different so I can't really offer any tips for admission

5 College Senior

Majors: I am very happy with my program and would do it all over again if I had to. I am majoring in Legal Studies and minoring in Political Science. I plan to be an advocate for the disabled. I don't really have any concerns about employment in my feild as I intend to start my own business.

UCF is growing by leaps and bounds. The students love to hang out, and they all know how to have a good time. There’s so much to do and there’s something for everyone. Do you really need any more reasons to go to college in Florida?

Orlando is an exciting city with tons of attractions and activities available to all. In many ways, going to school at UCF resembles a four-year vacation (Disney on Sunday, classes on Monday!). Downtown Orlando on a Friday night can, at times, seem like Mardi Gras, and City Walk on a Saturday night isn’t to be missed. Also, Floridians are welcoming and friendly and most students at UCF make friends quickly and easily. Friendly faces and sunny skies, what more could a college student ask for? The stellar academics, up-and-coming sports teams, and state-of-the-art facilities are reason enough to spend the next four years of your life at UCF; the city of Orlando is just one big fringe benefit. Come join us!
