4 College Junior

Majors: I am a junior/senior in the mechanical engineering program at University of Central Florida. The program is good. Great classes, many electives to choose from and clubs that offer hands on experience through group projects. My goal is to obtain a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, and possibly work towards obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering and a Minor in Mathematics as well. I am working hard to obtain internship experience before graduation in order to have an 'easier' process of getting a job. After graduation I want to work at Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control in Sand Lake, Orlando, Florida.

4 College Senior

Majors: I love my major, and the program. I don't have any concerns about finding a job, since I am doing internships and have a ton of support from my college.

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: There's so many places to go in a 5-mile radius! I can go eat anything I would like in between classes. The only reason I don't is because of the killer parking that would await me after back on campus.

Off-Campus Housing: I live really far from UCF, I'm talking about 50 minutes (no traffic). The reason I have yet to move near is because of the ambient that people that live in immediate off-campus housing give. They say that the neighborhoods are simply party places and that it's hard to concentrate on work. I wouldn't like to live with three other strangers, either.

4 College Freshman

Drug Safety: I've only been in the university for a week and a half, however I have not witnessed anyone doing any sort of drugs. I'm a commuter, so that might impact what I do and don't see. I do feel like the campus is relatively clean, though, comparing it to other major universities.

4 College Senior

Computers: There are multiple computer labs on campus and at least 3 free printing labs. Ethernet connections are very fast and reliable. Wireless access is not as reliable and because of the volume of students constantly connected to the wireless network, not all students can log on at any given time. I still recommend a personal computer and a printer because there are so many students that it may be time consuming at time to find a place to print or a computer.

3 College Junior

Majors: I am in the College of Arts and Humanities and I do not mind it at all, I find it annoying I am required to take a language again in order to graduate. I find it a waste of up to two or more semesters, though my professors have proven to be wonderful instructors that leave me feeling confident of a successful but challenging education ahead.

4 College Junior

Majors: I am a Digital Media major who just transfered to UCF, I have yet to form an opinion on it. Mostly worried about to likelihood of landing a successful launching point of my career I wonder if it is worthwhile pursuing a minor as well though finishing my AA in a year I tried to save myself a year of college expenses and one year quicker into the workforce. I enjoy the classes and all the teachers are very intelligent and professional individuals whom I've come to respect already. I would love to spend time drawing for video games, creating worlds in which thousands will be able to enjoy and immerse themselves in. In hopes of one day to own my own firm and be able to own my own business to continue and expand .

Local Atmosphere: I absolutely love the campus here at UCF and the city of Oviedo which I've found myself living in, shopping and food is a plenty and all the fun things are hidden around here. Orlando itself has so much to do for a price though with plenty of amusement parks, sporting events, and other touristy things. You can never spend a day off here and be bored.

4 College Junior

Majors: I have heard that the internship program here at UCF is quite phenomenal, it's main office devoted to internships tout that 33% of all student's hold an internship through it. I would like to intern somewhere next semester for either my major or experience for my minor, I am looking for scholarships in order to pay for my expenses while at UCF so I can do an unpaid internship if that is all that can be offered.

3 College Junior

Majors: I applied to the Digital Media B.A. degree and was accepted once UCF managed to receive all my documents. No special admission process was needed, just to meet the general UCF transfer requirements. Once at Orientation it was all just trying to compute all the information given to me and trying to pick the right classes, that was quite confusing but overall quite easy.

4 College Senior

Health & Safety: I feel very safe on campus. We recently had a bomb threat and officials were very efficient and very quick to get the area blocked off and assured the students and staff were not in danger. I do get nervous walking on campus alone at night, but I keep my phone on me and try to walk with people as much as possible.

3 College Senior

Drug Safety: As far as I know, the drug scene is low at UCF. I don't hangout with people who do drugs, so I really don't know for sure. Drinking seems to be much more popular among the students than drugs.

4 College Senior

Off-Campus Housing: There are so many options when it comes to off campus housing near UCF. You can choose to live in apartments, town homes or even rent or buy a house. The neighborhoods are nice and everything is close and convenient.

4 College Junior

Academics: I feel very motivated with the quality of education at the University of Central Florida. I will pursue a career in Medicine and I look forward to continue my education at the UCF Medical School. My professors are very supportive and I feel very confident that I will achieve my goals.

5 College Junior

Academics: I am very satisfied with my education at UCF. I have been in the Dean's List for 3 semesters in a row. All my professors are very accessible and helpful. I have accomplished all my goals thanks to the help of my professors and instructors.

4 College Junior

Transportation: Transportation is very accessible and the campus is very easy to get to.

4 College Junior

Campus Housing: It's a great school! It's a very modern-style campus, all resources for students are very accessible. The gym is great!

2 College Senior

Parking: The traffic is always backed up and the parking garages are full so you have to park on the top levels. The parking permit is expensive, but they have shuttles if you need to get across campus without walking.

4 College Senior

Health & Safety: The campus has signs that remind you to keep your doors locked. Campus police circle around frequently which discourages criminal acts.

4 College Freshman

Computers: There are many computer labs around the campus. Even when one is full, another could be close to empty. Many people uses their own computers and use WIFI anywhere.

5 College Junior

Local Atmosphere: Orlando is a city full of lots to do. There is good night life, and a whole lot of attractions with Disney World, Universal Studios, Sea World and several other parks in the area.

5 College Junior

Campus Dining: At the main campus there are a ton of options including dining halls as well as chain restaurants. There is lot to choose from.

3 College Junior

Weather: It rains a lot here so you get stuck outside in the rain if you don't have an umbrella. Otherwise the weather is excellent.

5 College Junior

Health & Safety: I attend the Rosen School of Hospitality Management so I do not spend a lot of time at the main campus, but the Rosen School is very small and secure and I have never felt unsafe here.

UCF is growing by leaps and bounds. The students love to hang out, and they all know how to have a good time. There’s so much to do and there’s something for everyone. Do you really need any more reasons to go to college in Florida?

Orlando is an exciting city with tons of attractions and activities available to all. In many ways, going to school at UCF resembles a four-year vacation (Disney on Sunday, classes on Monday!). Downtown Orlando on a Friday night can, at times, seem like Mardi Gras, and City Walk on a Saturday night isn’t to be missed. Also, Floridians are welcoming and friendly and most students at UCF make friends quickly and easily. Friendly faces and sunny skies, what more could a college student ask for? The stellar academics, up-and-coming sports teams, and state-of-the-art facilities are reason enough to spend the next four years of your life at UCF; the city of Orlando is just one big fringe benefit.
