Transportation: If you live close to the campus they have free shuttles for students buy public transportation is not an option here in Orlando. Traffic can be pretty bad sometimes

4 College Senior

Local Atmosphere: Orlando is a grate place for young people, it's fun, we have recreational spots and sports events

4 College Senior

Diversity: The campus is packed with diverse group and they have their own little organizations and chapters

5 College Senior

Majors: LOVE the social work program at UCF it is amazing.

Parking: Parking can in fact be terrible. At UCF you have to make sure to leave early to get a parking spot so that you can be on time to class.

Greek Life: Greek life is pretty typical at UCF with the party life but I give them a B+ because they actually are involved a lot in supporting good causes.

Drug Safety: Since I've enrolled into the university I have not personally experienced peer pressure. Drug and alcohol use is not visible. Tailgating is the only time I actually see student drinking alcohol on campus. Our campus is smoke-free and there are little to no students who smoke on campus. I believe the alcohol and drug use is at a minimum because each student is required to complete assessments on drug and alcohol use as well as a course on sexual harassment.

Nightlife: Night life is accessible to all UCF students. Transportation is provided each weekend to limit the amount of students who are drinking and driving. Transportation is also a great way for students who do not have cars to have a great night without having to ask other students for transportation to and from their destinations. Organizations have events such as "dollar jam" where students can party for only one dollar in designated venues on campus.

Majors: As a Creative Writing Major, I took the risk of picking a degree that was not in high demand in the career world, but I love my decision and I'm a happier person because I have followed my heart. My career goals are to get published in a literary magazine or book as a writer and work as a teacher. I think that I should be able to find work as a teacher, but working as a writer will be much harder to pursue.

Majors: The process of getting into my English- Creative Writing Major at University of Central Florida was relatively easy. There was no special applications. I just had to declare my major and pick classes that coincided with the requirements for Creative Writing. When declaring, It was all done online and incredibly easy and had no requirements.

Majors: I'm in the college of Arts and Humanities with a major in English- Creative Writing. I love being in the Creative Writing program, at UCF, because it allows for students to work on their unique styles of writing as well as giving students tips to getting published. My program has many published writers as facility and opportunities to work in literary magazines.

Academics: I am working on a B.S. in Crimnal Justice at the University of Central Florida. I like my major and how it is set up for several reasons. The curriculum seems fluid so that you can jump right into the program even if you happen to work full time as i do. There is enough online classes to change it up from time to time and the workloads dont seem to be over zealous as of yet. The facilities are fantastic ecxept for the sprawling effect fo the major college and that the floor layout of several buildings was not looked over very well when numbering the rooms.

Health & Safety: UCF has a good program for safety. The bluelight emergency stations are extremely helpful when walking on campus at night. there are always police and people on golfcarts.

2 Recent Alumnus

Off-Campus Housing: UCF area is very sketchy due to the high number of college students.

Facilities: They have unique sports program -Devos sports management program

Off-Campus Dining: There are a lot of choices and variety. Good quality restaurants off campus as well as cheap deals for college students.

4 College Sophomore

Majors: The Hospitality Management program is excellent. All my professors are also professionals with real life experience. Classes are always relevant and teaching information that will be useful in my future career.

3 College Senior

Greek Life: I'm not really involved in Greek life but I see them around at school and they're pretty involved. I also have several friends who are in sororities and frats and they consider the amount of participation equal to that of a job.

5 College Senior

Off-Campus Dining: There is so many options for off-campus dining since we're in the heart of the central florida area. UCF is close to everything and we have several malls nearby.

3 College Senior

Nightlife: I hardly ever participate in campus nightlife because I live off-campus, work three jobs and go to school. Yet, I'm always invited on facebook and whenever I'm on campus. For instance, we always have great concerts year round and we just won the Victoria Secret Pink Party! So they have a lot to offer but my schedule is to hectic right now for me to actively participate.

Local Atmosphere: Orlanda is a huge area. Just on the campus alone there is a good number of shops and plenty of place to eat. They have a free bus on Friday and Saturday nights. The parking, despite a good number of lots, is horrible. It's usually better to walk places.

4 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: There are many places around campus to eat with a lot of variety as to the type of restaurants. There are not, however, very many high quality restaurants that are not chains.

3 College Junior

Health & Safety: The campus police and security are very good and deal with emergencies and possible emergencies in a timely manner. I would not recommend being on campus unless there are a lot of people around because the areas around campus can be a bit dangerous.

Academics: I'm a Health Service Amd. major here at UCF. I like the online courses, there easy to navigate. Also my professors are very clear about their course curriculum.

4 College Junior

Parking: Parking is okay, you would need to arrive early to get a decent parking space. Parking permits are not included in your tuition & fees.

UCF is growing by leaps and bounds. The students love to hang out, and they all know how to have a good time. There’s so much to do and there’s something for everyone. Do you really need any more reasons to go to college in Florida?

Orlando is an exciting city with tons of attractions and activities available to all. In many ways, going to school at UCF resembles a four-year vacation (Disney on Sunday, classes on Monday!). Downtown Orlando on a Friday night can, at times, seem like Mardi Gras, and City Walk on a Saturday night isn’t to be missed. Also, Floridians are welcoming and friendly and most students at UCF make friends quickly and easily. Friendly faces and sunny skies, what more could a college student ask for? The stellar academics, up-and-coming sports teams, and state-of-the-art facilities are reason enough to spend the next four years of your life at UCF; the city of Orlando is just one big fringe benefit. Come join us!
