2 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: drug scene is campus wide. If someone wants to find some they won't have a problem doing so. Drinks is drug of choice.

3 College Sophomore

Weather: Usually nice and sunny with winds. Not too cold. Don't need a heavy coat. But do need an umbrella for the rain.

4 Recent Alumnus

Off-Campus Dining: I like the variety of restaurants offered near campus, from fast food, to dine in; there a lots to choose from.

3 Recent Alumnus

Campus Dining: I believe the campus has a fairly good variety of food and dining options.

1 College Sophomore

Parking: I've talked to some people and they say its hard to find a parking space.

3 College Sophomore

Majors: I have no knowledge of the programs, but they seem very educational.

3 College Sophomore

Majors: I am transferring to ucf, where i have no idea how the classes are. My advisor advised me what to take and what not to take. It sounded like my major is an exciting major with great teachers.

3 College Sophomore

Majors: it was relatively easy. All i have to do was talk to my advisor and he got me the classes i need to complete my degree.

3 College Junior

Weather: Weather is super nice, make sure you take an umbrella if you have classes later in the day; it rains a lot in the evenings.

3 College Junior

Majors: Make sure you look closely at all the requirements to apply to your major, one class can hold you back from being accepted into your major which can then hold you back from registering for future classes.

4 College Senior

Diversity: The diversity is great, people from all around the world and everyone always seems super nice and respectful. Even if you look a bit lost strangers will come up to you and ask you if you are doing all right!

4 College Senior

Majors: I am happy with my degree, I would like to take up a few internships but besides that I feel as though I am learning a great deal and am confident that I will find a job once I graduate.

4 College Senior

Majors: I am currently looking to partake in an Internship. UCF offers many resources and there are various places and colleges you can go about with finding an internship.

4 College Senior

Drug Safety: It seems to me that UCF does not play around with their student’s safety issues when it comes to drug or alcohol abuse. They have taken action and many steps to educate the students of this matter. Once orientation is completed you must take these 4 hour online courses on drug and alcohol abuse and once you pass with an acceptable grade you then are allowed to pick courses, and if not completed a hold will be placed on your account.

3 College Senior

Majors: The degree is very enjoyable but most professors have recently added group projects for the entire semester, you start your first days in a group and at the end of the semester you must present your findings. This becomes a bit tedious and ultimately your grade depends on other individuals.

4 College Senior

Majors: Internships are amazing and readily available BUT most do not pay when you are in the Psychology or Sociology field. I have learned so much and do not mind being an intern with out pay because the experience is rewarding in its own way.

2 College Senior

Off-Campus Housing: There are alot of options for off campus housing. Many are overpriced and do not have great environments. I could find a better apartment and pay at least $100 less a month. The Pointe at Central has cleaned up their act recently and is probably one of the better apartment complexes. There is less criminal activity here than some of the other apartment complexes.
When looking for apartments I would first recommend grabbing 3 friends and look into either a house or an apartment a couple miles away from school.
If you have no method of transportation then off campus housing is probably best, since most have free shuttles to class.

2 College Senior

Parking: Parking is available but not usually where one would like to park. Permits are a not cheap either. I feel that if they are going to charge so much they need to make sure everyone will have a place to park.

5 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: Although I have not started at UCF yet, being in Orlando is amazing. There is so much to do and you have an abundance of opportunities there!

4 College Freshman

Diversity: Although I have not officially started at UCF, while I was there to visit I noticed how diverse the student were in all areas, from sexual orientation to religious background.

5 College Freshman

Athletics: Every sport at the University of Central Florida has so many supporters and school spirit. Students at UCF get into games for free and get chances to win prizes such as an iPad. Athletic facilities at the university are very high tech and offer many different ways to get active. The two-story recreational building and the large campus provide a healthy way to get into shape.

3 College Sophomore

Greek Life: I am Greek personally and absolutely love being a part of the Greek community! However, there is a LOT of animosity between Greeks and Non-Greeks on campus. When one considers that less than 5% of the 50,000 undergrads here are greek, then you kind of get a sense of the problem. Many Non-Greeks view us as privileged, partiers, and try hards. They say that being Greek is a waste of money without ever having been involved themselves. However, the overall greek GPA is higher than that of the Non-Greek UCF student AND we do a ton of community service work throughout the year. In fact I manage to be actively involved in my chapter and maintain a 3.9 GPA here so don't be afraid that you can't balance both school and greek life commitments. Overall, though I don't rate Greek life here highly because of the animosity among students and the strictness that the administration oversees us with now.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: The campus is not strict at all and you can pretty much get away with anything here. Just don't throw a huge party in your dorm.

2 College Sophomore

Athletics: Students are apathetic in terms of the sports teams. The gym is a big focal point of campus and its extremely nice! However, it's too full of guys that love to drop weights and stare at themselves in the mirror for my liking.

3 College Sophomore

Academics: I've found the professors in the History department here to be very knowledgable.

UCF is growing by leaps and bounds. The students love to hang out, and they all know how to have a good time. There’s so much to do and there’s something for everyone. Do you really need any more reasons to go to college in Florida?

Orlando is an exciting city with tons of attractions and activities available to all. In many ways, going to school at UCF resembles a four-year vacation (Disney on Sunday, classes on Monday!). Downtown Orlando on a Friday night can, at times, seem like Mardi Gras, and City Walk on a Saturday night isn’t to be missed. Also, Floridians are welcoming and friendly and most students at UCF make friends quickly and easily. Friendly faces and sunny skies, what more could a college student ask for? The stellar academics, up-and-coming sports teams, and state-of-the-art facilities are reason enough to spend the next four years of your life at UCF; the city of Orlando is just one big fringe benefit. Come join us!
