4 College Senior

Guys & Girls: There's a huge variety of people at UCF, ranging from attractive to the most unattractive, to intelligent people to "toolbags". It is a great place to people watch. There are people from every country in the world, which is another reason why I love it here. You will make friends of all different types.

5 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: There are dozens of restaurants directly off-campus. Huge variety. You can go to Del Taco for 99c tacos, Steak'n'Shake for a late night shake, ethnic places, nice sit-down places...whatever you are feeling up to will be easy to find within five miles of campus.

4 College Junior

Weather: The weather is very warm much of the year. I wear summer dresses or shorts and am comfortable walking around campus dressed casually. Winter time merits a jacket and scarf but is still pretty moderate.

4 College Junior

Guys & Girls: The University of Central Florida is the second largest school in the nation. There's not really a way to rate the guys and girls here due to the fact that you can, and will, meet every single type of person regardless of gender.

4 College Junior

Computers: The computers are up to date and run well, and the availability really isn't bad. Lots of students including myself bring their own laptops or tablets, and the WiFi is great.

4 College Junior

Facilities: Aesthetically, the University of Central Florida is on it's way to becoming top notch. They are currently in the middle of renovating just about everything, but as of now it's hit and miss on what's still old and whats fresh and new. Functionally everything is great, and everything is backed by green initiatives. Campus events are bountiful, and the games are quite fun, as the new Brighthouse Stadium has been in use for a few years now.

Athletics: Our team is good for our conference (Conference USA), but as many know, Conference USA is a joke. We are moving up to the Big East next year which should bring some fans out of the woodwork. Last year, the majority of the students would go out to the tailgating parties and then just skip the game, it was a little embarrassing, hopefully our change in conference will help out with fan participation and school spirit. Our gym on the other hand is by far the best gym I have ever seen, so that bring the letter grade up a bit!

1 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: My suite-mate in the dorms was a huge stoner, he literally smoked marijuana inside the dorm every other day. It was pretty annoying, but I wasn't one to rat out a friend. He pressured our other suite-mate into smoking regularly with him as well. We are a smoke free campus, but I still see a lot of smoking going on.

3 College Sophomore

Parking: There is plenty of parking on the weekends, but during main class hours, it can take around 15 to 30 minutes to find a parking spot. It is understandable, however, because UCF is the largest school (population wise) in the nation, and the majority of the students live off campus.

4 College Sophomore

Majors: We have to send an intense application to get into my program. The most important criteria is mostly GPA and your entire application. It's not an abnormal application process. All schools have the same nursing application processes. Work hard!! The application is simple, just asks tons of questions.

4 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: The safety is wonderful on campus. We normally don't have much crimes that occur. Our officers are always around keeping us safe.. which is a great feeling. We don't have problems with safety at our school. Everyone is at the school for the same reason. I feel safe on campus. I really can't say anything bad about the safety to be honest.

4 College Sophomore

Majors: The Nursing program is great! I enjoy it tremendously. It seems like our school wants the absolute best for each person in each major. There are so many opportunities to shine in your major at our school. There are tons of internships that I can apply for and the curriculum is obviously rigorous..you are going to be saving lives!!

College Sophomore

Majors: I have not had an internship yet. I am supposed to have one starting my junior year when I begin to take my nursing classes. I don't have many concerns about my internship, because we need nurses everywhere! Training nurses are wonderful for hospitals.

4 College Sophomore

Majors: I love being a nursing major. I have opportunities to take electives that I love. I can't wait to actually start focusing on my major instead of doing just my General Education classes. I don't have any concerns about my major. Nurses are needed everywhere and I'd love to be a traveling nurse. I want to be a Nurse Midwife. I think seeing a child be born into this world, will be one of the most beautiful things to witness.

5 College Junior

Transportation: Transportation at UCF is very convenient. The Shuttles take you wherever you need to go practically and the best thing about it is, you don't have to worry about gas. They sometimes run a little slow but all that means is get up a little earlier before its time to go to class.

1 College Junior

Scholarships: Scholarships at UCF are hard to obtain. Due to the massive amount of population and the tuition spikes and the financial aid cuts, its hard to get them. Also, the way the financial aid system is set up, your parents income according to the school could be too much for assistance but really you are struggling a great deal to get through school. Due to the income, the scholarships will not be awarded to you because they feel you dont need them.

3 College Junior

Guys & Girls: Students at UCF basically keep to there selfs. Its very hard to make new friends unless you live on campus or you are in a program of some sort. The students are over all a good looking group of kids who are determined to succeed in there academic life. It's so diverse at UCF its hard to describe all the student with just one shot. The diversity is good though it contributes to a great overall look among UCF.

4 College Junior

Greek Life: Greek life at UCF is there for a multitude of reasons. Not only do they provide multiple outlets to strengthen ones social life but they also focus on the academic part of being a student as well. They do multiple event to help the community and other things. Many event go on through out the day at UCF that are put on by Greek life. UCF is always alive and social when it comes to Greek Life.

College Junior

Guys & Girls: I haven't attended UCF yet but I will be starting in the fall so I can't tell you much about the guys and girls on campus. I'm assuming it will be a mix like much of Florida which includes surfer/beach types and rednecks.

4 College Junior

Weather: I am starting classes in the fall and have not attended UCF yet but I can describe Orlando weather! It gets an A- because while it is beautiful and almost always sunny here, it can be very hot and humid in the summer (which is really from May to end of October). Florida is known for it's afternoon thunderstorms in the summer as well, but they usually don't last long. Overall, beautiful weather but hot and sticky in the summer. I recommend dressing in layers, maybe shorts and a comfy top but bring a light sweater in case the classroom is chilly.

4 College Junior

Transportation: There are shuttles that run on campus and also go to many of the apartment complexes around campus. I used them for a year and they are usually on time and run every 15 minutes they are completely free and the bus drivers are awesome.

4 College Junior

Facilities: The facilities on UCF are wonderful. You can always find a place to study whether it be in the library which is 4 stories and huge or the student union. It has a number of restaurants on it all over the campus. It has three subways on it alone. As well as a number of restaurants in the student union. The tradition at UCF is rich. You will know all of the cheers at the football games by the end of your first game and the tailgaiting on memory mall is amazing. There is a plethora of campus activities. I'm in my third year and still learn about new ones every semester.

3 College Junior

Weather: I give it a B+ because during the winter it is beautiful. It doesn't get too cold. The coldest it might get is in the high forties at night and it usually is around the mid sixties during the day time. It does get extremely hot in the spring/summer. It start near the end of the semester and in the summers it is usually in the high eightes to high nineties. Add on up to 90% humidity and it might feel like 99-106 degrees. It is wet and you will sweat. It also rains alot during the summer. Almost every other day. The fall/autumn is pretty hot but October/September are usually quite nice and in the high seventies

4 College Junior

Facilities: I give UCF an A because it really is an amazing school. Many of the professors are very, very good at what they teach. I feel that many people find the professors extremly hard, when really they aren't trying hard enough. For this reason I feel we sometimes get a bad reputation about our teachers which just isn't true. On top of that the campus is beautiful and they are always expanding it and trying to make better, newer, more useful facilities for it's students. Since I have been at the school at least 3 new buildings have been made, one of which was a gorgeous new Physical sciences building. It houses many study areas for students as well as labs for professors to do research. Since I have been there they also have opened a career services and experiential learning center, which is basically a career services center. This shows that the school really does care about it's students and their futures.

4 College Junior

Majors: The process of getting in to my Information Technology program was very easy for me, especially because I was a transfer student. I received both my A.A. in General Studies (which is recommended before transferring) and my A.S. degree in IT at Valencia College and signed up for Direct Connect To UCF. Direct Connect is a program that allows you to have guaranteed admission to a bachelor's degree at UCF. Once you sign up for direct connect, just apply to UCF and send in any necessary documents or information (i.e, residency application, health records, etc). Once you are accepted you can sign up for orientation, which is where they will help you register for classes.

UCF is growing by leaps and bounds. The students love to hang out, and they all know how to have a good time. There’s so much to do and there’s something for everyone. Do you really need any more reasons to go to college in Florida?

Orlando is an exciting city with tons of attractions and activities available to all. In many ways, going to school at UCF resembles a four-year vacation (Disney on Sunday, classes on Monday!). Downtown Orlando on a Friday night can, at times, seem like Mardi Gras, and City Walk on a Saturday night isn’t to be missed. Also, Floridians are welcoming and friendly and most students at UCF make friends quickly and easily. Friendly faces and sunny skies, what more could a college student ask for? The stellar academics, up-and-coming sports teams, and state-of-the-art facilities are reason enough to spend the next four years of your life at UCF; the city of Orlando is just one big fringe benefit. Come join us!
