4 College Senior

Diversity: There are people of various different backgrounds. Every one, for the most part, accept each other and get along.

3 College Senior

Greek Life: Greek life at UCF isn't a big deal, but its used for status.

4 College Sophomore

Transportation: There are a lot of shuttles that help you to get to stores and off campus housing making it easy to attend school without having a car.

3 College Junior

Parking: Parking is pretty easy to find, if your getting there at certain times of the day.

4 College Junior

Scholarships: I am very pleased so far with th einformation I get from the school. The FA dept is very helpful when I call or stop by.

3 College Senior

Transportation: The shuttles are a great thing for UCF campus as many students live in the housing that is not too far away. The shuttle usually comes in 15 minute intervals, but this can take longer when there is a problem with one of the shuttles, which happens a few times.

3 College Senior

Diversity: I believe that UCF is quite diverse. I have come into contact with many different people of many different races. As far as I have notice there hasn't been any challenges for one race over another and I believe that everyone gets along quite well.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: I stay in the Rosen Apartments (dorms over at the Hospitality campus) and I absolutely love them. I get my own rooms, semi-private bathroom, kitchen, living room and so many amenities. It's a great place to live.

Drug Safety: Everyone is required to take an Alcohol Edu class upon being accepted into UCF. We are also a smoke-free campus and most people abide by the rules of campus when it comes to smoking and alcohol use.

3 College Sophomore

Scholarships: I received a nice scholarship to offset the out of state tuition. This made it possible for me to attend for less than a state school in my home state. But, I wasn't offered work study or other aid based on need, which I was offered at most of the other schools that accepted me.

Transportation: The UCF campus buses get you where you need to go. Not only do they make a loop around the campus, but they take you to all of the nearby off-campus housing developments, the Waterford Lakes shopping center down the street, downtown Orlando, etc. If the campus bus doesn't take you to your stop, the public Lynx bus system is safe and reliable and only costs about $2 a trip. I don't know about cab fares because I don't take cabs.

3 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: If you're looking for girls, you'll find plenty of easy ones. There aren't as many guys, however.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: The professors are good, though sometimes their accents make it hard to understand. There are enough options to pursue and succeed in a field.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: I was doing a Biology pre-med major and then switched because it was very challenging. The classes I have scheduled seem much more manageable and are available online. I work well with online classes, so this is a major plus for me.

4 College Sophomore

Computers: The computers are relatively new and functional and there are many. They're usually available except around exam time.

2 College Sophomore

Parking: There is a lot of parking, but somehow every spot gets filled during the day so the best way to secure a parking spot is by going early in the morning or at night.

4 College Freshman

Academics: Some teachers are good and some are bad like always. You just have to go to class and take notes.

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: Some of the buildings are very old and could use some upgrades like new paintings or furniture. But there are others that are new and really cool.

5 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: Restaurants and any places to eat are right around any corner. You will never be hungry or run out of options with so many places to get a meal.

5 College Freshman

Academics: I'm in the College of Sciences, and that is where I have always wanted to be. I hope to be successful in my Biology classes and really enjoy them. The department looks very good and has the best professors on the material.

4 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: When it comes to academics UCF takes great pride in academic excellence, which means they don't take lightly to cheating, plagiarism, stealing and other things. You get suspended, dropped from classes and sometimes kicked out of the school. They also support fun without alcohol and host many events throughout the year to promote Nom alcoholic fun. Last year we had a huge pool party.

4 College Freshman

Transportation: Ucf has their own bus system that works with many off campus apartment complexes and other stops in the area to pick up and drop off students FREE of charge!

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: There are so many places to eat off campus. And there's such a variety as well! All within 15 minutes from campus you have the options for fast food, casual dining and fancy restaurants so prices and food options are very good.

3 College Freshman

Academics: Even though I'm still fairly new in college I have noticed that being in my major has allowed me to broaden my mindset and imagination in a way that core classes wouldn't allow. My classes are alot more interesting and the professors are great to work with. Some classes can be very time consuming but it's worth it in the end.

4 College Freshman

Campus Housing: Living on campus makes the college experience so much more fun. The dorms are small enough to make new friends all around you but big enough to give you your own space. At some points I wished they had different shower heads that would spray better but overall I really enjoyed living on campus.

UCF is growing by leaps and bounds. The students love to hang out, and they all know how to have a good time. There’s so much to do and there’s something for everyone. Do you really need any more reasons to go to college in Florida?

Orlando is an exciting city with tons of attractions and activities available to all. In many ways, going to school at UCF resembles a four-year vacation (Disney on Sunday, classes on Monday!). Downtown Orlando on a Friday night can, at times, seem like Mardi Gras, and City Walk on a Saturday night isn’t to be missed. Also, Floridians are welcoming and friendly and most students at UCF make friends quickly and easily. Friendly faces and sunny skies, what more could a college student ask for? The stellar academics, up-and-coming sports teams, and state-of-the-art facilities are reason enough to spend the next four years of your life at UCF; the city of Orlando is just one big fringe benefit. Come join us!
