3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: I wish they focused more on upperclassmen and cheaper options, but the quality is superb.

4 College Freshman

Scholarships: Apply early, and stay on top of it. They offer lots of scholarships, but make sure you keep track because they won't always.

4 College Freshman

Athletics: The football team has gotten much more respected this year, and it's become a common topic of conversation.

3 College Freshman

Weather: It changes so often. Make sure you ALWAYS have an umbrella... rain could strike with no warning.

3 College Freshman

Health & Safety: With such a large school, it's hard to keep everything under wraps. They offer lots of safety services, but how optional they are make it difficult to guarantee safety.

4 College Freshman

Academics: There are tons of opportunities for clubs and internships, but the classes and couseloads are currently a little redundant.

3 College Freshman

Academics: Some professors are very difficult to follow, but there are a few who are genuinely passionate about their jobs.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: There are a lot of places right down the street from campus.

4 College Freshman

Campus Dining: The dining halls are not close enough to the dorms, but the selection is very good and the food is usually above average. Other options are available as well.

5 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: There are so many options, that you would be hard pressed not to find at least one option that works for you.

3 College Freshman

Parking: It isn't that difficult to walk everywhere, but sometimes it can be difficult to find a spot. It's very important to only park where you are allowed, because they don't joke about ticketing.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: The only thing they seem to be very strict about is parking without a registered tag. You will get a ticket.

3 Recent Alumnus

Drug Safety: There is no peer pressure to partake in drug activities, but it is pretty heavy in the fraternity scene. A girl died just last year from doing drugs and drinking heavily at a frat party, and some of the frats/sororities are known to do a few drugs regularly.

4 Recent Alumnus

Off-Campus Housing: There are a ton of options for off-campus housing. The closer they are to campus, the more expensive they are, but there are some great options available within a few miles that are very affordable and very nice.

3 Recent Alumnus

Campus Dining: It can be described as average at best. There are two main on-campus dining options to choose from when you buy the food package. Both are open late and have a ton of options.

2 Recent Alumnus

Greek Life: There are a decent amount of fraternities and sororities at the university, but they are always getting suspended and losing their houses, so it's a bit pointless really.

4 Recent Alumnus

Facilities: The school offers a wide array of majors to choose from to suit everyone's interests. Buildings are all fairly new and are very nice, which makes classes very comfortable.

4 Recent Alumnus

Facilities: The gym is probably the shining star of all the buildings. It's the largest campus gym in the nation and most definitely one of the nicest I have ever seen, college or otherwise.

5 Recent Alumnus

Weather: Fantastic weather overall. Florida living at it's finest, and has great access to tons of beaches on the East coast of the state if you are willing to make the moderately short 30 minute drive.

3 Recent Alumnus

Local Atmosphere: The campus itself is away from the big city, but if you make the short trip (about 15 minutes by car) downtown there are a ton of activities to participate in and a lot of things to see.

4 Recent Alumnus

Athletics: Even though our school is young, our teams are performing very well and getting a lot of national recognition in the media. Our football team is an up-and-coming powerhouse , and our basketball program is slowly working it's way up as well in a very strong basketball conference.

3 Recent Alumnus

Overall Experience: It's a good school, but doesn't quite have the feel of a real college campus. I believe this is because of the overall lack of age of the university, so it will grow with time, but for now it seems a bit resort-ish.

4 Recent Alumnus

Transportation: Lot's of buses too and from off-campus housing makes it very convenient for students who don't have a car.

3 Recent Alumnus

Academics: The workload is a bit much, but it's manageable. They also do a lot to help you get internships/jobs while enrolled as a student and afterwards.

3 Recent Alumnus

Academics: Average academic programs. Some of the professor are too laid back though and have minimal care for the students' well-being, which can make those classes tough.

UCF is growing by leaps and bounds. The students love to hang out, and they all know how to have a good time. There’s so much to do and there’s something for everyone. Do you really need any more reasons to go to college in Florida?

Orlando is an exciting city with tons of attractions and activities available to all. In many ways, going to school at UCF resembles a four-year vacation (Disney on Sunday, classes on Monday!). Downtown Orlando on a Friday night can, at times, seem like Mardi Gras, and City Walk on a Saturday night isn’t to be missed. Also, Floridians are welcoming and friendly and most students at UCF make friends quickly and easily. Friendly faces and sunny skies, what more could a college student ask for? The stellar academics, up-and-coming sports teams, and state-of-the-art facilities are reason enough to spend the next four years of your life at UCF; the city of Orlando is just one big fringe benefit. Come join us!
