Weather: It is very hot, but the buildings are air conditioned and comfortable. Walking from the parking lots can be an issue in the rain.

3 College Senior

Scholarships: The financial aid process was not easy. The only saving grace was the one administrator Ms. Walker that made the process bearable. Some of the staff were very nice. One of the supervisors was not and I found him somewhat descpicable.

3 College Senior

Health & Safety: It's a big campus. I think students should be aware of their surroundings while walking in the dark to the parking lots and garages.

3 College Senior

Facilities: I have previously completed degrees at one college and one university. I have previously taken classes at two universities. As a graduate student at the University of Central Florida, I have had more problematic experiences than at any other college or graduate program attended. The university grew far too fast and did not have the proper infrastructure in place. Although all large institutions need policies and procedures in order to maintain some sense of order, the policies at this institution sometimes fail to take into consideration the "human" factor. As a result, they lack compassion and exceptions that are typically necessary for human beings.

3 College Senior

Athletics: The university has increased its focus on sports particularly the football team.

3 College Senior

Campus Dining: The main campus has a number of places where students can eat. The food overall is okay.

3 College Sophomore

Academics: Again its a lot of work to make sure you understand the material with some shadowing available in your chosen field.

Academics: The professors might try and pack a lot of information into test which puts unnecessary stress on students and since the classes are big its a lot of do it your self work.

4 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: Our health center is very convenient and easy to get the help you need. We have an on campus police that reacts very quickly to emergencies.

3 College Sophomore

Facilities: We have many clubs and activities to choose from.

4 College Sophomore

Facilities: It has a high quality gym and swimming pool. It also has a student union with many places to eat. Our library is very helpful with school work. The reflection pond is a nice place to hang out and relax in between classes.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: It's convenient for getting to class and meeting people but its overrated.

4 College Sophomore

Local Atmosphere: It's good we have a lot of amusement parks and shopping centers to choose from.

3 College Sophomore

Parking: The school needs more parking spots fill up fast so you might want to get there a hour earlier.

Overall Experience: Freshman year was really great. I think I might choose to go to Valencia just to save money.

Transportation: Free shuttles that run during the week and free bus transportation at night on Fridays and Saturdays.

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: Many locations to choose from differing from houses to apartments with reasonable rent and amenities.

3 College Sophomore

Computers: Getting to a computer isn't difficult but printing might be.

Greek Life: Its a group that allows you to meet new people quickly but the process is kind of intimidating.

3 College Sophomore

Diversity: Its a very large campus with multiple satellite campus so you can feel kind of on your own. But when you join clubs and activities on campus that crowd can become small.

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: Every college is a mini town surrounded by housing. UCF has many affiliated housing areas and much more.

Transportation: Shuttles are everywhere. And As I said before, everything is with 15 minutes of driving, attractions, clubs, beaches, etc..

3 College Freshman

Scholarships: Financial aid is financial aid, you got to go through the trenches to receive something great. That goes for anything in life. Once you done it, you definitely learned for the next time.

Greek Life: The saying is Greeks have higher GPA's than non-Greek students. I think I would fit that statistic!

UCF is growing by leaps and bounds. The students love to hang out, and they all know how to have a good time. There’s so much to do and there’s something for everyone. Do you really need any more reasons to go to college in Florida?

Orlando is an exciting city with tons of attractions and activities available to all. In many ways, going to school at UCF resembles a four-year vacation (Disney on Sunday, classes on Monday!). Downtown Orlando on a Friday night can, at times, seem like Mardi Gras, and City Walk on a Saturday night isn’t to be missed. Also, Floridians are welcoming and friendly and most students at UCF make friends quickly and easily. Friendly faces and sunny skies, what more could a college student ask for? The stellar academics, up-and-coming sports teams, and state-of-the-art facilities are reason enough to spend the next four years of your life at UCF; the city of Orlando is just one big fringe benefit. Come join us!
