3 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: Nothing I did required the enforcement of policies but I'd say overall, it's an appropriate level of enforcement of all policies.

Off-Campus Dining: A little difficult without a car but plenty of choices and I usually can manage to get rides.

4 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: Campus police are everywhere, as are safety lighting, alarms, phones, etc.

3 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: Generally friendly and outgoing. All types of backgrounds, etc.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: I enjoyed it and would recommend it for first time students. However, after one year and more relationships are established I plan on living in an off-campus apartment.

4 College Sophomore

Facilities: The campus overall is very modern and comfortable. I have a lot at my disposal. I enjoy the independence.

4 College Sophomore

Majors: Because I took AP and Dual-Enrollment classes in HS, the adjustment wasn't too difficult. I didn't have to take any college-level math because I already completed those in HS. The class schedule and independence are better than in HS.

4 College Sophomore

Scholarships: The first time is a little overwhelming but it does get easier, it's just time consuming.

2 College Senior

Academics: Being a Mechanical Engineering student it is frustrating in that there is no way to shorten the program if you come in with extra credit from high school. Also the overwhelming majority of the courses are focused on research and pure academics, with very little emphasis on real world applications.

3 College Senior

Academics: There are plenty of places to study on campus. Besides the library, student union, or the All Knight study locations there are study tables spread throughout most buildings on campus. The registration process is pretty straightforward, the hard part is figuring out what class you need to sign up for.

3 College Senior

Diversity: I would say it is an average demographic, a good mix of everyone.

3 College Senior

Greek Life: It has gone through changes in the last few years and its hard to say where it is headed. With that being said, I believe that the networking and relationships that you can obtain through Greek Life are worth the investment.

3 College Senior

Off-Campus Housing: Most of the student housing options are all low cost student housing that are built very quickly. The best option is to rent an actual house in one of the neighborhoods near the campus.

4 College Senior

Athletics: Through my time at UCF I have seen the athletics at UCF grow exponentially. The varsity sports programs have become national names. On the student side, the athletic facilities for students have greatly improved with an expansion of the main gym and a secondary gym opened up on the opposite side of the campus.

3 College Senior

Campus Housing: My freshman year I lived in the Towers dorms on campus. They were great dorms and I enjoyed being on campus but for the money I could have found something nicer off campus.

2 College Senior

Overall Experience: In the engineering department I quickly became aware of the fact that the professors were, for the most part, there to research first and teach second. They would be assigned classes that they had not taught before and a significant number of them had a language barrier.

4 College Senior

Overall Experience: As I have gone through the program at UCF I have increased my network by leaps and bounds. I am now currently in my third internship but as a word to the wise, you have to go out and get any internship. They are not simply handed out.

College Senior

Campus Dining: I never had a meal plan, so I do not feel that I could give a proper review.

3 College Senior

Local Atmosphere: There is plenty to do in Orlando. Numerous theme parks, 2 professional sports teams, a good night life downtown, and only 45 minutes from the beach. The downside is that none of that is close to UCF. Near campus you have a couple bars and restaurants spread throughout the area but nothing is easily walk-able.

4 College Senior

Health & Safety: There is a strong policy presence on campus and in the evenings there is always at least one blue emergency beacon in sight.

3 College Senior

Facilities: Although a lot of the facilities are brand very new and are fantastic, there are also plenty of buildings on campus that are extremely out dated. The school has attempted to retro fit some of these rooms but occasionally fall short. Do not get me wrong, everything still works fine, it is just a bit outdated for an engineering based school.

4 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: There's plenty to do in the area. Anything from food to unlimited bowling on Thursdays! Waterford Lakes mall is about 10 minutes away and downtown Orlando is about 20. If you're bored, you'll have no problem finding something to do.

3 College Freshman

Guys & Girls: UCF has a pretty diverse group on campus. There are people from all over. Most people will have no problem finding someone with whom they share a lot of common interests.

Overall Experience: There is so much to do and so many opportunities on this campus. In order to get the full experience, you have to get involved in something though. But from my experience, I'm glad I go here and I wouldn't want to go anywhere else.

Overall Experience: UCF has a entire building committed to helping students with jobs and internships. Its called Career Services. They do various workshops to help prepare students for the workplace, and they also have services such as mock interviews or resume critiques. They also have a lot of online material that you can access at anytime, and career services is always updated their online listing of jobs and internships that are exclusively for UCF students.

UCF is growing by leaps and bounds. The students love to hang out, and they all know how to have a good time. There’s so much to do and there’s something for everyone. Do you really need any more reasons to go to college in Florida?

Orlando is an exciting city with tons of attractions and activities available to all. In many ways, going to school at UCF resembles a four-year vacation (Disney on Sunday, classes on Monday!). Downtown Orlando on a Friday night can, at times, seem like Mardi Gras, and City Walk on a Saturday night isn’t to be missed. Also, Floridians are welcoming and friendly and most students at UCF make friends quickly and easily. Friendly faces and sunny skies, what more could a college student ask for? The stellar academics, up-and-coming sports teams, and state-of-the-art facilities are reason enough to spend the next four years of your life at UCF; the city of Orlando is just one big fringe benefit. Come join us!
