Facts & Statistics

Things I Wish I Knew Before Coming To School
  • Even the people who appear to party 24/7 study, so you should too.
  • Get the 14 Premier Meal Plan. It has the perfect amount of meals and extras.
  • Get your own bed linens (twin extra-long for dorm beds).
  • Go to the frats during Orientation Week.
  • If you're going to drink illegally, don't be loud about it.
  • Some of the teachers are more interesting than the subjects they teach.
  • Someone in the dorms will have a microwave (and it's best if it's not you).
  • Visit the Career Center often to avoid being unemployed directly out of college.
  • Weekends should be used for getting away to local wilderness areas.
  • Your grades will plummet if you party more than you study.
Interviews & Information Sessions
Interviews are not used for admission into UCLA. For information on admissions or other aspects of the University, you can sign up for a Recruitment Information Session. Call the UCLA Undergraduate Admissions Office at during business hours Monday through Friday for more information.
Campus Tours
General campus tours led by students are available between one and three times daily, depending on the season, and last about two hours. Reservations are required at least three to four weeks ahead of time. Reservations can be made at www.admissions.ucla.edu/Prospect/tours.htm. The Housing Office also offers tours of the on-campus housing facilities Monday through Friday at 12:30 p.m. Reservations are required and can be made by e-mailing hao@ha.ucla.edu or calling (310) 825-4271.
Overnight Visits
