Academic Experience: I am in adult (45) recently laid off after 19 years. I wan to become a nurse - so at this time I am taking Medical assistant as a first step and than will move on into LVN and so forth. University of Antelope Valley has a great setting, the teacher is excellent - class demands a lot in classroom and laboratory, but manageable, teacher is always there to meet my needs if I feel pressure or something

Academic Experience: I'm a business management major, and my classes are not what I expected, I am not saying it is worse then what I expected just different. All of the classes they offer are toward my major so it makes it a lot easier for me to get the classes I need. It is an accelerated program so the work is tough but manageable.

4 College Senior

Academic Experience: I am a Culinary Arts and Restaurant Management major. It is fun learning different techniques for cooking. We have recipes in our book but we are granted a certain amount of freedom to add to our dish. The workload does not seem too bad. We have to read the chapter that we are on, answer the questions at the end of the chapter, complete the chapter in the workbook, and define the terms on the study guide. Each month we also get what is called a library assignment where we research a topic related to the chapter and write a two page report on it. At the end of our program, we do an externship at a restaurant.

College Senior

Academic Experience: I just started so I have not received a grade yet.

4 College Junior

Campus Resources: On Campus Pub – My school has a pub where students can purchase food or drinks and just relax on breaks while watching sports.
