4 College Sophomore

Local Atmosphere: I have lived here my whole life and it has the most beautiful scenery on the planet. If you are the outdoorsy type Alaska is the place for you. As far as music there aren't many famous live shows that come to Anchorage, but I guarantee you can find some form of live music any day of the week. The atmosphere in most bars is pretty nice.weekend nights they are pretty crowded and loud. You can usually find a good ski premier to watch at the Wendy Williamson during the winter, or a great play to watch in the summer at the PAC. Anchorage is full of adventure and culture.

4 College Junior

Local Atmosphere: Anchorage is a great place if you are into the outdoors or would like to become more outdoorsy. There's great trail systems to use year round whether running, biking, skiing, or walking. Every class I take I find people who enjoy some sort of outdoor activity. Not to mention the many mountains to hike right near town!

Local Atmosphere: Here at UAA, it ok if you know people and instructors well or talk to them.

3 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: Its alright if you like the outdoors, outside of the campus walls is Alaska, with all its cold glory. If a student wants adventure, its great; if a student wants more city-based things, such as a greater variety of restaurants and recreation, Alaska sucks.

Local Atmosphere: Alaska is very beautiful even in the winter.
