5 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: Apartments everywhere!!! There are more being built now as we speak!!!

Local Atmosphere: Tuscaloosa is not a big city, but when football season comes around it turns into a huge party! We are also neighbored by Stillman College and Shelton State Community College as well. The strip is the main gathering place of all schools combined when big football games are in town and there are other places outside of UA's campus to enjoy other outside activities. Good social ventures.

Greek Life: The Greeks here do intermingle with the non Greeks, but there are times when the Greeks only fraternize with their own organization or other Greek organizations. With the Greek housing it seems they have adequate housing, but there are certain fraternities and sororities that have a chapter with no house.

Diversity: Their are tiny instances to where we have to deal with racial issues very seldom, but overall I feel that everyone has an equal opportunity here. We have numerous group organizations for everyone to get involved in.

Academics: No matter what major you take up, the curriculum that the UA gives you is great. Even though a certain class may not be related to your major at all, you will come out of there learning something. Everything is so in depth!

5 College Freshman

Greek Life: If you're from out of state, I would definitely suggest going greek! It is the easiest way to make friends and it keeps you busy so you don't get very homesick.

4 College Freshman

Majors: There is a fairly good chance of getting into the program you desire.

Facilities: Student life on campus is amazing. The majority of buildings have been newly renovated and there is so much to offer. The Rec (our athletic center) is up to date with so many work out machines and classes offered.

Parking: Everyone has the ability to have a parking permit. You are assigned your permit based on where you live. So the purpose of having a permit on campus is just to be able to have your car to get off campus... The way it is set up, there aren't many areas, other than your dorm, that you can park at.

Campus Dining: The food on campus is definitely better than I expected. There are many options and their hours are convenient for busy students.

Majors: I do not plan on an internship because I am currently employeed full time.

3 College Senior

Diversity: I am rating the University of Alabama a B+ because in the last 10 years the campus' attitude has become more accepting of different races. For example African American women are now allowed to rush predominantly white sororities.

Transportation: I am rating transportation at the University of Alabama a B because sometimes the busses do not run on time and as frequent as they should. I also remember a day when you could drive your own car and park near the college that you attended. So for me the busses are an inconvenience.

4 College Freshman

Majors: I am very happy with my program there is help all around me

College Freshman

Majors: I have not yet encountered this stage at the university

2 College Freshman

Weather: Getting adjusted to the weather at the university of Alabama is not easy when your not from another state can be hard due to the changes especially in the winter

3 College Freshman

Majors: The process of getting into the University of Alabama is not easy however it is a matter of having things organized once you have applied it is just a matter of the University responding.

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: I think off campus dining at Alabama is convenient. Many of the places are relatively cheap. Also, there is a large variety of places to eat, many of which stay open late.

5 College Freshman

Facilities: Alabama's facilities are top notch. The dorm I live in is quite spacious and up to date. The buildings are well taken care of, and they are constantly building or renovating. There are many organizations to join, and people don't feel pressured into joining Greek life. Also, gameday at UA can't be touched. Being on the Quad and then going into Bryant-Denny with 100,000 other fans is a feeling like no other.

5 College Junior

Athletics: We're national champions in Football, Gymnastics, Golf, etc. Every team works hard! My favorite is the men's rowing.

Off-Campus Housing: Very close to campus, availability is limited. You have to start looking in at least October the year before you want to move.

3 College Junior

Campus Strictness: The police don't generally go around and checking to see if students are underage or under the influence of drugs. They do watch for traffic and parking violations very closely though.

4 College Junior

Weather: I never know what the weather will be like. One day it will be extremely hot and dry, the next day could be cool and raining.

4 College Freshman

Diversity: There is a large Chinese and Japanese student body. They comprise a large portion of the engineering students. There are also many arabic students studying business.

University of Alabama students constantly brag about their school’s traditions and spirit, and their pride is shown throughout the town. Some say it’s the incredible education that drew them here, and others say it’s Bama football that brought them to this Southern school. But no matter what reason these students choose to come to UA, most believe it was the best choice they could have made.

After graduation, some students get a job, some further their education by going to UA’s grad school, and some even go to UA’s law school. No matter what the students decide to do with their future, they believe Bama has prepared them for it. Students advise upcoming freshmen to walk around the Quad, visit the Strip, or watch a football game to understand why so many love UA.
