Academics: I came to the University of Alabama because it was closer to home, but also because it has a great medical background. Depending on your major, you will have homework or an assignment due every night. Being a biology major is very difficult in my experience. College is very different from high school because the teachers honestly could care less if you get an F in their class. It is not saying they do not care about their students, it just means they are busy doing research, teaching students, and grading papers that some things just wont bother them. You have to work hard and study in order to make the grades you want in these classes.

Drug Safety: The drug and alcohol scene at the University of Alabama is fairly big. We recently had a drug bust in one of the dormitories and once the university found out they took immediate action. The alcohol is harder to crack down on because it is more at students accessibility, but Alabama has a strict no drugs policy.

Computers: The computer system at Alabama is excellent. We have multiple computer labs that are at accessible to students and are always open. Along with the computer labs, there are printers in just about every building that students can use after paying a small fee that can be charged to their student card. The speed of the campus wide network is fast and very reliable. This is extremely important because some of the exams are online and students can take them at home.

Diversity: The University of Alabama is filled with multiple ethnicities and economic backgrounds. My classes have all different kinds of people in them which make for a better learning environment, in my opinion. This way we get diverse opinions and outlooks on topics that I might not think of. In the real world this could help with coming up with solutions to solving problems.

Academics: I came to the University of Alabama because it was closer to home, but also because it has a great medical background. My dream would be to go into the physical therapy field and then take that profession into the Navy. So far I've noticed that all of my professors are willing to work with me outside of class if I need extra help, the workload is directed towards our professions and includes a lot of hands on experience. My professors make the material interesting to learn and easy to pay attention to.

Weather: The weather is hard to predict most days. Sometimes it is rainy and cold, then the next day it will be blistering hot and humid. These changes affect my experience by not making me want to go to class and walk in the rain, but I still go. Overall it doesn't have a huge impact on my well-being.

Academics: Alabama is a wonderful school for academics as well as social life and athletics. The professors are great and they offer a wide variety of good classes to take. Everyone is very willing to help you with anything you need and they absolutely love doing their job.

Drug Safety: The University of Alabama is an SEC school with a champion football team and a very lively Greek system. Additionally, it is a college campus. There is bound to be obvious drug and alcohol use. And there is. But it's not overbearing or shown in a way that makes one feel uncomfortable. Drinking is popular at football games and parties.

Health & Safety: The University of Alabama is a wonderful place to be. It's very safe and beautiful. There are a multitude of emergency phones located around the campus, late-night safe transportation systems, and secure entries to all buildings. The campus is very pedestrian and bike friendly, and the bus system is pretty reliable. Also, the food is good, and there are many options for those who want fast food or those who want to eat a healthy option!

Academics: every english professor is amazing. the biology department could use a clean up of professors except for dr fluker. he's the best.

3 College Junior

Campus Dining: each dining hall is different. lakeside is the worst though. burke and bryant are the best. fresh foods needs better hours.

4 College Junior

Drug Safety: every party has alcohol. probably drugs but i don't really pay attention to that.

1 College Junior

Parking: there is no place to park unless you want to walk 30 minutes to your destination

4 College Sophomore

Academics: Professors are incredibly helpful and understanding.

2 College Sophomore

Parking: Parking on campus is hard. It is always hard finding a spot close to class.

Campus Strictness: Strictness at the University of Alabama isn't an issue. I've never had a problem with any school policies affecting my academic or social life.

Facilities: The greatest thing about UA is the campus life. My favorite spot was out on the quad and the Rec. The rec is very nice and updated. It has just about everything to do; there's rock climbing, swimming, classes to take and just about every kind of running machine.

5 College Sophomore

Facilities: Everything at UA is top notch. The Strip is always overflowing with people and things to do. Having a good time at the University of Alabama isn't hard at all. The campus life my freshman year was different from anything I expected. It was the greatest year of my life. I had the greatest teachers who would help me with anything.

5 College Sophomore

Computers: Computer access is impeccable at UA. Whether you're more comfortable with Mac or HP, they have both. Computer labs are all over campus all equipped with high speed internet connection.

Health & Safety: I feel extremely safe on campus. There are UA police patrolling all the time. There are phone booths accompanied with blue lights (to make them easier to find) that are immediately connected with UAPD as soon as a phone is picked up. I think the phone booths make all students (especially girls) feel safer at night.

Majors: The application process is very average at the University of Alabama. They do not ask of you anything to extraneous. The acceptance rate is fairly high. G.P.A and S.A.T scores are the most important criteria.

Parking: Parking at University of Alabama is the worst thing about the school. The university makes 7 million dollars off parking tickets and fines. They mark up fines over 100% than the city of Tuscaloosa. The School is more concern on about the beautification of campus and fan zones for football than building a parking garage for students. Parking pass are worth a one month rent. The University of Alabama needs to figure out a better system.

Off-Campus Dining: The university of Alabama is still working on bridging the race gap. There are few integrated clubs, fraternities, and sororities on camps. Most in state students still have animosity towards people of color. The University is bringing in students from out state which challenge the traditional ideas of segregation

Off-Campus Housing: The city of Tuscaloosa has a great selection of off campus apartments. Apartment communities that offer the perks of college living pool, theaters, game rooms, rec fields, and gyms with close knit communities. The prices are inexpensive for what they offer. There is a diversity of living to fit individuals needs houses, apartments, condos, dorms style, efficiencies etc.I currently live in one bedroom apartment that is close enough to walk to class. The University of Alabama does a great of offering students abundance of off-campus options

University of Alabama students constantly brag about their school’s traditions and spirit, and their pride is shown throughout the town. Some say it’s the incredible education that drew them here, and others say it’s Bama football that brought them to this Southern school. But no matter what reason these students choose to come to UA, most believe it was the best choice they could have made.

After graduation, some students get a job, some further their education by going to UA’s grad school, and some even go to UA’s law school. No matter what the students decide to do with their future, they believe Bama has prepared them for it. Students advise upcoming freshmen to walk around the Quad, visit the Strip, or watch a football game to understand why so many love UA.
