Academics: Alabama gets a high grade for their academics because there are so many options for classes. If you aren't sure what you want your major to be or just want to take classes that interest you, UA has plenty. The professors are very helpful and understanding. The only problem I've had is that sometimes the classes have to change rooms or buildings and it can get confusing.

Parking: Technically there are plenty of spaces, but you have to park in western Mongolia to use them. Not a lot of the parking actually makes anything any easier.

Athletics: Although football is a huge sport at our school, tons of students (including the football players) go out to support the other teams we have. We have a great basketball team, as well as gymnastics. There's tons of options for anyone wanting to find a team to join, including dozens of extracurriculars (i.e., quidditch)

Greek Life: Greek life is great at Alabama. There is always something to do, and it's a great thing to get involved with, especially if coming out of state and not knowing anyone. It seems like a huge amount of the student body is greek, and there are always philanthropy events and parties going on. A great portion of Greek life holds leadership positions as well. It's not just here for partying, but to build leaders as well.

Off-Campus Housing: All freshman live on campus in dorms, but after that most people live in either apartments, or a house with a few of their friends. Most of the off-campus housing is close to campus, and if not, almost all of the apartment complexes have transportation available for students to commute.

Diversity: Walking around campus, one will see a great deal of diversity based on clubs involved in, ethnicity, religion, etc. There are plenty of international as well as national students, and everyone is very tolerant of others' beliefs and opinions.

Nightlife: I do not go to parties in general, so I don't really know about the night life. Other than that, on campus at night we have frat parties on the every other weekend on campus during football season. Also, there are bars on this area on campus called The Strip. There are movie showings and art exhibits as well. Furthermore, we have concerts here in Tuscaloosa; last semester, there was a B.O.B. concert.

Off-Campus Housing: I live in an off-campus apartment and I love it. It's amazing. My apartment is close to campus, yet I enjoy living away from the chaos.

Health & Safety: I feel safe on campus. But sometimes after my night classes, it's scary to walk across the campus to my car. I wish the campus had more lights and security officers present.

Diversity: The University of Alabama is extremely diverse in all aspects. The school as a whole is 51% out of state and a lot of that percentage is international students. With the majority being non-Alabama residents, there comes a lot of different races, religions, and beliefs being brought in. The university and it's students are very accepting of other views and tend to want to learn more about different beliefs than their own.

Guys & Girls: There are all kinds of different guys and girls at the University of Alabama. The range is very broad, from rednecks to fraternity boys and sorority girls, from skaters to athletes. You can find any kind of person you are interested in and there is a wide spectrum to choose from. Overall, they are all pretty good looking and genuinely nice and polite. You can't go wrong with an Alabama girl or guy. Roll tide!

Transportation: The University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa has several public transportation options. They have shuttle buses that run regularly and many pickup locations. They have numbers you can call and an app you can install on your cellphone to see when the next pickup time is. They have zip cars,
They have public transportation to various locations off campus. They will even take you to the airport in Birmingham around the campus holiday schedules. These are all free of cost to the students which makes it easy to get around campus and do everyday living things if you do not own your own car.

They have shuttles that have scheduled times to pick up and some to call to take you anywhere even to the airport at the holidays. They also have a system you can download on your phone to see where the bus is and how long the wait is. Athletics: Alabama is what drives this university it has many fans and great athletic facilities. I am a alabama cheerleader and the school spirit is like no other i have ever experienced. All students are involved in alabama football as well as many other sports here. They offer great scholorships for sports unfortuantely cheerleading is not considered a sport but i love doing it. University of alabama has been champions from years back. i think the fans make alot of alabamas reputation the stands are always packed.

Weather: The weather is usually beautiful. Most days it is relatively warm, short weather. However, Tuscaloosa weather can change quickly and it is possible for it to get very cold. But, class probably won't be cancelled unless there is a tornado warning. And it doesn't snow hardly ever!

Transportation: Once you are on campus the transportation system involves buses. It is convenient, and they run regularly. The bus drivers are very friendly, and I like the fact that they run into the night. The Crimson Ride gives student an option to give the university a call and be picked up where ever they are, even late at night, even if they are off campus... but there is a limit to how far they will drive- but it's free. The daily bus routes are convenient but for most, it is still less time to walk, then to ride the bus. All campus transportation is free. They just started a route of buses that take students downtown to the bars, and then take them back once they close. So smart to prevent drinking and driving by giving students an option.

University of Alabama students constantly brag about their school’s traditions and spirit, and their pride is shown throughout the town. Some say it’s the incredible education that drew them here, and others say it’s Bama football that brought them to this Southern school. But no matter what reason these students choose to come to UA, most believe it was the best choice they could have made.

After graduation, some students get a job, some further their education by going to UA’s grad school, and some even go to UA’s law school. No matter what the students decide to do with their future, they believe Bama has prepared them for it. Students advise upcoming freshmen to walk around the Quad, visit the Strip, or watch a football game to understand why so many love UA.
