4 College Freshman

Drug Safety: Drugs will be found at any college you attend. It really depends on who you associate yourself with.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Dining: Lakeside dining hall should be avoided. The food gets progressively worse the longer the year goes on. Fresh foods is continuously good. Burke is also consistently good. Bryant is the best place to eat, by far.

3 College Sophomore

Weather: I mean, it's weather. It changes. Most of the time it's beautiful, but you can also go for days without seeing the sun.

2 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: Having the largest population of greek students doesn't help UA's cause, but the non greeks drink just as much as the greeks do. Adderall and weed are the two most abused drugs on campus.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: There's not much of a tolerance for being drunk in public or being caught with drugs. Cheating is pretty hit or miss, though. Some professors will just tell you personally not to do it again, but others will report you.

4 College Freshman

Campus Housing: My housing is great but I have two other roommates living with me in my dorm.

Scholarships: There are a lot of scholarships but sadly I didn't receive any awards

Facilities: Campus life in the University of Alabama is always filled with school pride and lots of Roll Tides. There are thousands of student clubs where anyone can join.

Campus Dining: Excellent I love campus dining because it close to my dorm and with me being a freshman I get the unlimited meal plan which is great for me cause I always get the munchies.

Campus Housing: Some of the dorms are pretty small if you are on a tight budget. Sharing these rooms with a roommate can be very challenging.

Health & Safety: There are blue safety phones located all around campus for everyone's use if trouble arises.

5 College Sophomore

Facilities: There is nothing like tailgating on the quad for game day!! The team spirit that everyone has is awesome.

4 College Sophomore

Facilities: The campus is beautiful with many historical touches. I am proud to say I go to The University of Alabama! ROLL TIDE

Off-Campus Housing: I like the diverse affordable housing that is still in walking distance to campus. Since the tornado hit the campus, many updates have been made.

Academics: I am a secondary science education major, and so far my experience has been fantastic. All of my classes have been very enriching, and my professors have been kind and energetic. My workload was pretty heavy first semester because I was in the marching band, but the next semester was much easier on me. The facilities on campus are beautiful. I love the campus. There are a pretty good number of job opportunities if you keep your options open.

5 College Sophomore

Academics: Most professors really love what they teach, and their teaching performance reflects that. The honors classes are especially enriching.

3 College Sophomore

Scholarships: There aren't a lot of scholarships outside of academic, athletic, and engineering. I received a pretty good amount in academic, but I'm not eligible for education scholarships until I am a junior.

2 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: The drug scene at The University of Alabama is biggest in the Greek life. Many fraternities and sororities are known for their frequent drug and alcohol usage.

5 College Sophomore

Diversity: There is so much to do for any type of person. I love it here!

3 College Junior

Guys & Girls: They may be attractive but not the nicest sometimes

Transportation: It was fine. It could always be better, but it wasn't horrible.

Guys & Girls: They're all just a bunch of jocks. It was difficult having an intelligent conversation with them.

Greek Life: Greek life is really big on UA's campus. It is also a pretty difficult process for girls to join a sorority because rush lasts a week and has so many girls. It's a little easier for fraternities. A bunch of people believe the Greek students run the school which is not true but they do hold a lot of student offices. There are also a lot of Greek Alumni working for the University. There are also a lot of non-Greeks as well. I believe the Greek life makes campus fun and is a way to always have plans and entertainment on campus.

Off-Campus Dining: You find almost anywhere or anything you want to eat. There is a large variety but there are really good barbecue, southern/home cooked, and chicken restaurants.

Weather: It seems like it rains more in Tuscaoosa than it does my hometown, but the weather is normal for the state of Alabama. We have a little bit of everything and the weather does what it wants when it wants. It's hot in the summer but the humidity is the worst part. But as I said early it is relatively normal for the state of Alabama.

University of Alabama students constantly brag about their school’s traditions and spirit, and their pride is shown throughout the town. Some say it’s the incredible education that drew them here, and others say it’s Bama football that brought them to this Southern school. But no matter what reason these students choose to come to UA, most believe it was the best choice they could have made.

After graduation, some students get a job, some further their education by going to UA’s grad school, and some even go to UA’s law school. No matter what the students decide to do with their future, they believe Bama has prepared them for it. Students advise upcoming freshmen to walk around the Quad, visit the Strip, or watch a football game to understand why so many love UA.
