Athletics: Sports at the University of Alabama are amazing! Our football program especially is spectacular. Going to a football game in Bryant-Denny is a truly life changing experience. I came to school here with very little interest in football but now I can safely say that I am one of the biggest Alabama football fans ever. Our other sports are not neglected either. We have championship softball and gymnastics programs as well.

Parking: There are several different parking lots available on campus but since you have to park in the designated one on your parking pass it would be advisable to get to campus atleast 30 minutes before your class.

Computers: There are hundreds of computers on campus that are accessible to students throughout the day and it is very easy to walk right into the lab or library and start using one.

Campus Dining: Some of the dining halls serve the exact same low quality meals every day and since you are forced to buy a meal plan your freshman year your food choices can get pretty monotonous. There are several Chick-fil-a's on campus though which is why I graded it so high and there are a few dining halls that have excellent food.

Weather: It rains a lot and it is hard to walk all the way to campus and class when it is pouring down outside but overall the weather is pretty much perfect. It never gets to cold either.

Majors: I have not had a paid internship. The experience I've had so far with unpaid internships and shadowing has been wonderful. The university is very helpful. I'd like to get a paid internship soon though.

Majors: As a biology major it is very tough, but I really enjoy it. If i could do it all over again I would have liked to do public relations with a concentration in pre-med, but I didn't mainly because I was afraid it would take longer than four years. I plan to go on to med school now, but I don't anticipate too many problems.

Majors: Alabama offers so many different majors in all different aspects. One of their greatest programs is New College that allows students to tailor-make their own major.

Majors: It is a very time consuming program, but the clinical experiences and internships are invaluable. You have an opportunity to network and get ands on experience.

Transportation: I've never had a problem with the buses at Alabama. They run frequently and are free. However, I often walk because the campus is beautiful and most buildings are fairly close to one another.

Academics: I've just begun studying education, but so far everyone is helpful and friendly. I previously majored in nutrition, and the nutrition department is outstanding.

Academics: People knock this school for being in the deep south. They shouldn't. All of my classes are difficult, challenging, and rewarding. All of my professors have been great. Alabama's academics are top notch. Many of my friends and myself have gotten high paying job offers all over the country with great companies.

Facilities: So much stuff is brand new. The rec center is awesome. The new science and engineering complex is supposedly the best and biggest in the country. It is extraordinary. Housing is all new and great (super suites). All the buildings are nice, renovated, up to date and modern, and flow in appearance. There is so much tradition and so many things to do. Football is fantastic, but it is not the only thing. There are clubs and activities for everyone. The quad is a great place to hangout.

Nightlife: The nightlife at UA is excellent. Every time I have gone out I have had a great time, even before I was 21. Always something going on.

Campus Housing: The dorms at UA are very nice. However, they can be very expensive as well.

Weather: Tuscaloosa generally has excellent, sunny weather. I give it an A- rather than an A+ because it can be extremely hot during the summer. Also, the April 27 tornado ruined a lot of lives and everyone is afraid when bad weather comes.

Local Atmosphere: Tuscaloosa has a lot to offer students. Its big enough to be anything you can make it. However, there is a very large part of town that should be avoided because it is not a very good part of town.

Campus Strictness: The University of Alabama seems to have a pretty fair police force. They are non intrusive but are there to help.

Off-Campus Housing: There are a lot of nice apartments. However, there are also a lot of crappy ones- and sometimes you can't tell they're crappy until you're living in them. Apartments close to campus are more expensive- and sometimes older and not as nice.

Majors: I love being a biology major. The teachers are wonderful, the research programs are wonderful, everything is wonderful. I just really don't care for the chemistry aspect (ugh, organic).

Majors: The process of getting into most majors at UA is ridiculously easy- you just declare it online. That's it.

Athletics: The best in the nation! Fifteen Football National Championships. It's a school that's serious on athletics.

University of Alabama students constantly brag about their school’s traditions and spirit, and their pride is shown throughout the town. Some say it’s the incredible education that drew them here, and others say it’s Bama football that brought them to this Southern school. But no matter what reason these students choose to come to UA, most believe it was the best choice they could have made.

After graduation, some students get a job, some further their education by going to UA’s grad school, and some even go to UA’s law school. No matter what the students decide to do with their future, they believe Bama has prepared them for it. Students advise upcoming freshmen to walk around the Quad, visit the Strip, or watch a football game to understand why so many love UA.
