Computers: There are computer labs, but I never really looked for them because I have my own

Local Atmosphere: Local atmosphere is great, but it mainly revolves around the campus.

4 Recent Alumnus

Campus Dining: Locations are great! You can always find something to eat!

5 College Freshman

Campus Housing: Nicest dorms you will see when looking at a University dorm.

Overall Experience: I love Alabama because of the experiences that I am able to receive during class and outside of class.

3 College Freshman

Parking: They oversell on the amount of parking spots available

3 College Freshman

Campus Dining: I wouldn't say it's great and I wouldn't say it's bad. They need to expand the menu. Breakfast is not served at the main dinning hall until 10:00 and that is just for a limited time so you are likely to go without eating breakfast for much of your time Freshman year unless you go to Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts.

Computers: The Computers are not reliable and you usually are going to be charged a lot for printing

5 College Freshman

Campus Dining: Its nice if that is your only option, I eat there a lot on the weekends.

Health & Safety: Safety is not an issue at alabama, you will always feel safe.
The student health center is great for getting you what you need it just takes a REALLY long time if you don't make an appointment.

5 College Freshman

Transportation: It is always easy to find a ride to the airport if you do not have a car, someone will drive you

Campus Strictness: Drinking will not be something you have to worry about. You can easily drink in your dorm with all your friends and be totally fine. Only one residence hall (Tutwiler) has visiting rules (no boys allowed after midnight on weekdays and 2AM on weekends). Parking is fine if you park where you are supposed to. Attendance is pretty relaxed, you can always have friend sign you in if it is a large class.

Academics: Professors are typically pretty good.
Bruno/Gorgas are the popular study areas. Oh and Starbucks at the Ferg.
Registration is simple, but hard to get into classes you need sometimes.

5 College Freshman

Academics: Communications is one of the top major programs at Alabama. We have a beautiful building and many professors and other people work in there and you can stop by to get assistance with anything from homework help to hunting down an internship. The workload is not too bad so far and the curriculum is so interesting and thorough!

Majors: Communications is one of the best majors at Alabama. It is in the top 5 in the country. We have an amazing building with tons of qualified people, professors, etc. to assist us whenever we need it!

College Freshman

Majors: I have never had an internship, but I do plan on getting one. The (communications) department encourages internships because it is like mini work experience. The department is always avaliable to help you find one that works for you and they even email you when they know of internships with avaliable slots.

4 College Freshman

Diversity: Diversity is seen a lot in classes/out and about on campus, but mostly we only hang out with people who are relatively similar to us.

5 College Freshman

Guys & Girls: Tons of good looking guys and beautiful girls, you will always see eye candy on campus

5 College Freshman

Athletics: We go to Alabama. We have 15 national championships, and are only going to have more in the near future. Football is really the only sport people care about here though.

College Freshman

Scholarships: I did not receive financial aid, but from what other students tell me, it is a very strenuous process.

5 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: Plenty of bars, restaurants, etc.
Shopping is okay, but it is improving constantly.

3 College Freshman

Computers: There are plenty of computers available, but having a personal laptop is ideal.
Wi-fi sucks. No other way to put it.

3 College Freshman

Guys & Girls: Many people like to be like the fraternity guys or sorority girls so they dress like them. You'll Need Polo Ralph Lauren to fit in if you're a guy and long t shirts if you're a girl.

University of Alabama students constantly brag about their school’s traditions and spirit, and their pride is shown throughout the town. Some say it’s the incredible education that drew them here, and others say it’s Bama football that brought them to this Southern school. But no matter what reason these students choose to come to UA, most believe it was the best choice they could have made.

After graduation, some students get a job, some further their education by going to UA’s grad school, and some even go to UA’s law school. No matter what the students decide to do with their future, they believe Bama has prepared them for it. Students advise upcoming freshmen to walk around the Quad, visit the Strip, or watch a football game to understand why so many love UA.
