4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: The further you get from campus, the less safe you are, as UA has its own police force. Pretty much everything is new and nice due to the tornado a few years ago.

Nightlife: Generally very safe but still wild! Some of the bet parties are thrown by the Mallet Assembly in Palmer Hall, but you can find all sorts of parties.

Facilities: Campus is beautiful and functional.

5 College Sophomore

Facilities: The school is truly interested in the success of its students and opportunities are boundless. There is so much money at the University that it's relatively easy to get a first-class education for next to nothing.

Computers: tons of computer labs, easy to use.

3 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: No peer pressure, high availability.

4 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: Probably the biggest problem UA students face is alcohol poisoning...

Overall Experience: I thought it would be awful but there's a great sense of community and academically it's comparable to the schools I would have preferred. Campus is beautiful and I really feel at home here.

5 College Freshman

Majors: It's so easy to find the right major. The school has a program called Degree Works that helps you. Great opportunities for every major.

Academics: Alabama is an amazing school. You'll get a great degree that any company won't want to turn down.

Computers: The Gorgas library has 300+ computers (Mac& PC). And that's just one library. Tons of computer labs on campus.

5 College Freshman

Guys & Girls: All types of people! At such a big school, it's hard to try to stereotype the type of people here. You'll find the perfect group of friends easily here.

5 College Freshman

Transportation: SO convenient! We have so many bus routes and we even have all night buses on the weekends that run from fraternity row (where the parties are at) back to the dorms. It's so great.

Greek Life: It's huge on campus, but it's hard to get into. I didn't get into a sorority, but a ton of my friends are in sororities. They love it! It's not a big deal at all if you're not in one though.

4 College Freshman

Campus Dining: Lots of options. Some dining halls are better than others! Burke > Lakeside. All of them are convenient and not bad!

5 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: If you have common sense, you'll be fine with the rules. They aren't out to get you.

5 College Freshman

Facilities: They are always building something new. The newer buildings are stunning!

5 College Freshman

Facilities: The campus is beautiful. If you haven't visited yet- VISIT! You'll see it and immediately fall in love.

5 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: It's amazing! So much Alabama spirit

Health & Safety: I've never felt not safe on campus. Also, the Student Health Center is very convenient! They offer walk in services where they can write you prescriptions that can be filled their immediately.

University of Alabama students constantly brag about their school’s traditions and spirit, and their pride is shown throughout the town. Some say it’s the incredible education that drew them here, and others say it’s Bama football that brought them to this Southern school. But no matter what reason these students choose to come to UA, most believe it was the best choice they could have made.

After graduation, some students get a job, some further their education by going to UA’s grad school, and some even go to UA’s law school. No matter what the students decide to do with their future, they believe Bama has prepared them for it. Students advise upcoming freshmen to walk around the Quad, visit the Strip, or watch a football game to understand why so many love UA.
