4 College Freshman

Campus Housing: The newer dorms are absoutely amazing! Each resident in the 4 person suite gets their own bedroom, and they share a bathroom with one other suitemate and share a nice kitchen and spacious sitting area amongst the 4. The other older dorms are just like typical college dorms, and they probably wouldn't seem so bad if we didn't have the suites of Presidental and Lakeside to compare them too. Tutweiler is kind of gross, but it's a fun dorm and a good bonding place for all the sorority girls. Living on campus is great, because you have access to dining halls, libraries, the rec center, and the Strip.

Nightlife: The frats are pretty fun, but nothing too crazy and you'll probably start to get tired of them during your second semester. When they occasionally have themed parties though, those are a lot of fun! I haven't been to many bars, but the ones I've been too have been a really good time!

Athletics: Football is life around here. The fall is an amazing time, and there's nothing like tailgating on the quad on a Saturday game day. School spirit is HUGE here! The rec center too is amazing, with tons of cardio machines and equipment and all sorts of different group exercise classes offered for free. The exercise classes I've tried aren't super challenging, but they're great for beginners or people who enjoy moderate exercise. There's also a great pool next to the rec center with a sweet lazy river and a water slide. Intermural sports too are pretty popular here too.

University of Alabama students constantly brag about their school’s traditions and spirit, and their pride is shown throughout the town. Some say it’s the incredible education that drew them here, and others say it’s Bama football that brought them to this Southern school. But no matter what reason these students choose to come to UA, most believe it was the best choice they could have made.

After graduation, some students get a job, some further their education by going to UA’s grad school, and some even go to UA’s law school. No matter what the students decide to do with their future, they believe Bama has prepared them for it. Students advise upcoming freshmen to walk around the Quad, visit the Strip, or watch a football game to understand why so many love UA.
