4 College Junior

Campus Housing: Very nice residence halls. It is hard to meet friends in the dorms unless you make an effort to do so.

Overall Experience: The University of Alabama is the best school in the country. The entire campus comes together whenever good or bad things happen. We have the best football and the best fans.

3 College Junior

Local Atmosphere: Some areas seem very unsafe and you should never go alone. I wish there were more recreational opportunties.

4 College Junior

Academics: I have learned so much about special education. I love my program! The workload is somewhat difficult but provides many opportunities to learn and gain experience.

4 College Junior

Academics: I love the classes. They are somewhat challenging.

3 College Junior

Drug Safety: I really do not know much about the drug and alcohol usage because I try to stay away from that scene. The Greek life is full of alcohol visibility, usage, and peer pressure. The campus as well as the Greek system lacks policy enforcement.

4 College Junior

Weather: The weather does not really affect much. The rain makes it difficult and uncomfortable to travel to classes.

4 College Junior

Transportation: There are many bus options that are very easy to navigate

4 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: Not all RA's fulfill their duties and so there are several students in the dorms who get away with guidelines.

Off-Campus Housing: Several, several options for off-campus housing. The university is particularly helpful to students when they begin looking. Although campus is large, the capacity for on campus housing is too low for the number of students that attend so most students that are not freshmen have to live off campus.

Campus Dining: Several options to choose from on campus and within each dining hall! Our school is growing so the more the merrier!

4 College Freshman

Weather: Beautiful seasons at Alabama! The fall is probably my favorite! The trees are absolutely gorgeous!

4 College Freshman

Nightlife: There are several entertaining options for underage students, but several more for students 21 and over.

4 College Freshman

Guys & Girls: Very large number of students are involved in fraternities and sororities.

Majors: Out of state tuition is extremely expensive. Most important criteria for scholarships are SAT/ACT scores. I suggest students take this test multiple times so that they may have multiple scores and use their highest for application and scholarship purposes.

5 College Freshman

Majors: Mentors and peers are great. I am learning so much and am looking forward at what will the coming years will hold.

5 College Freshman

Health & Safety: We have an incredible Student Health Center and our campus police do their job well.

5 College Freshman

Athletics: The athletics department at the University of Alabama is top notch, comparatively speaking. From football, to basketball, and women's gymnastics, our athletes are stellar.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: It's a great school and fun! It wouldn't hurt my feelings though if the Greek system didn't carry so much weight.(And I'm in one of the top-tiered sororities on campus)

Off-Campus Housing: We look around and find what we want whether its a house or apartment. There are expensive places and cheap. More apartments are built every year as Alabama only allows students to live on campus as freshman related to their dorm numbers. Housing is available within walking or driving distance.

Greek Life: Alabama has one of the most competitive sorority rush recruiting processes in the nation. That said, if you'll go in with an open mind and not decide ahead where you have to get a bid and if it's "old row" it can be fun. There's a place for just about everyone to be happy.

Campus Dining: It's college food. What can I say? As a member of a sorority we have our own cooks and the food is incredible and varied.

Facilities: Alabama prides itself on being an up and coming research as well as a sought after Engineering program. It's obvious they are seeking high quantity professors as well as students. The selection of clubs is large and varied.

4 College Sophomore

Facilities: Great libraries and student work out facilities. Three national championships in football over the past four years doesn't hurt either...
School pride is never in doubt!

Weather: It rains more than I'd like in the fall, but the campus is beautiful as the leaves turn.

University of Alabama students constantly brag about their school’s traditions and spirit, and their pride is shown throughout the town. Some say it’s the incredible education that drew them here, and others say it’s Bama football that brought them to this Southern school. But no matter what reason these students choose to come to UA, most believe it was the best choice they could have made.

After graduation, some students get a job, some further their education by going to UA’s grad school, and some even go to UA’s law school. No matter what the students decide to do with their future, they believe Bama has prepared them for it. Students advise upcoming freshmen to walk around the Quad, visit the Strip, or watch a football game to understand why so many love UA.
