3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: I don't like my dorm very much and there isn't much of an atmosphere for social interaction.

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: It's hard for me to get around because I don't have a car, so I have to be able to walk places, and there aren't many walking options.

5 College Junior

Greek Life: University of Alabama always has a large rush.

4 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: Everyone loves midnight sushi & buffalo Phils takes dining dollars!

5 College Junior

Academics: I take Arabic here, and it's so great! The foreign language department is so great and I am blessed to have this program!

4 College Junior

Weather: If it's sunny, everyone plays on the quad. If it's rainy more people take the buses. If it's snowing, no one wants to come.

4 College Junior

Nightlife: There are swaps, parties, and bars having some event most weekends.

4 College Junior

Campus Strictness: All the rules on campus make sense. When I was a freshman living in a all girl's dorm it was hard that my dad couldn't spend the night on football weekends, but I understand it's just the school protecting all the student's safety.

4 College Freshman

Academics: Chemical engineering is a challenging yet rewarding program. It is commonly known to be one of the most difficult majors on campus.

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: I think there are great off campus options. They are close to campus, safe, and gets students away from the required dorm life of freshman year!

3 College Freshman

Computers: There are crowded, slightly outdated computers in the labs and the libraries. The wifi on campus is sometimes unreliable.

College Freshman

Nightlife: I have no clue. I am a nerd and I study at night instead of going to parties.

4 College Freshman

Greek Life: I think the Greek life is pretty good, but I'm not in it so I wouldn't know. There are a ton of fraternities and sororities.

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: There are a ton of local places and chains that are both open late and located very close to Alabama's campus.

5 College Freshman

Athletics: Everything at Alabama revolves around sports, especially football. However, we also know when it's time to sit down and study.

3 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: They are strict about some things, such as honor code, but they are very lenient with others. Visitation in dorms and noise ordinances are almost never followed.

5 College Freshman

Scholarships: The entire process was very simple and went extremely smoothly. I am pleased with how it all worked out. It was all in one application that was sent over the whole campus, and I simply received a letter informing me about financial aid.

4 College Freshman

Transportation: On campus, walking is probably the best option. However, the shuttle runs very frequently and has many different routes. Commuting to the school is somewhat of a hassle because streets are busy and there is limited parking available.

3 College Freshman

Majors: Getting into the program is not hard, but sticking with it is hard. Chemical engineering has a very rigorous degree program. The most important item to a successful application is a good ACT/SAT score.

3 College Freshman

Majors: I have not had many engineering classes yet, but the ones I had were interesting and promoted critical thinking in the students.

4 College Freshman

Drug Safety: I have never personally seen anyone use drugs on campus. I have heard of people taking them and I know people who do, but it is not public.

5 College Freshman

Greek Life: one of the best schools for greek life

University of Alabama students constantly brag about their school’s traditions and spirit, and their pride is shown throughout the town. Some say it’s the incredible education that drew them here, and others say it’s Bama football that brought them to this Southern school. But no matter what reason these students choose to come to UA, most believe it was the best choice they could have made.

After graduation, some students get a job, some further their education by going to UA’s grad school, and some even go to UA’s law school. No matter what the students decide to do with their future, they believe Bama has prepared them for it. Students advise upcoming freshmen to walk around the Quad, visit the Strip, or watch a football game to understand why so many love UA.
