3 College Sophomore

Greek Life: Greek life is very big at Alabama and shapes a lot of what happens throughout the semester.

Scholarships: I have received some scholarships as an incoming freshman, but not any since I have been enrolled in the University.

3 College Sophomore

Transportation: The Crimson Ride system is extremely helpful, but the buses often become full or backed up so it can be unreliable.

4 College Senior

Off-Campus Housing: They're pretty good at helping!

Parking: Kinda hectic at time, but it's okay if you get there early.

Guys & Girls: Everyone is so nice at UA!

Drug Safety: It's pretty good! No drugs allowed!

Transportation: You don't need a car but if you don't like walking, it's good to have one!

5 College Senior

Campus Strictness: The campus is strict but is well grounded.

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: Lots of off campus housing is available and the University provides a website that helps students get connected to housing resources.

Guys & Girls: The majority of people here are very nice.

Greek Life: It is good if you are involved and not so great if you're on the outside. Greek students control the SGA and have a lot of influence so non-greek students do not always have a voice on issues with power behind it.

College Sophomore

Parking: I do not have a car on campus.

5 College Sophomore

Scholarships: Scholarships are based on academic achievement in high school and are very easy to obtain.

3 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: I live in tutwiler so the visitation rights are very strict, but alcohol is not.

2 College Freshman

Drug Safety: I dont really notice drug usage at my school, but alcohol is very apparent. The rule is don't stumble while holding your red solo cup and the police won't care.

5 College Freshman

Majors: It was extremely easy to declare my major and I get as much help as I need.

4 College Freshman

Majors: I love my program. TCF is fun and we have so many opportunities handed to us.

2 College Freshman

Transportation: I hate taking the buses and often find the APP is lying to me about their location.

Greek Life: Greek life at the University of Alabama is without a doubt the best. Although it has only been named number 2 for best greek life in the country, one can strongly disagree. With 29 fraternities and 23 sororities, greek life runs the campus. Fraternities get box seating for football games and almost every SGA president has been greek. With multi-million dollar, opulent chapter houses, it's easy to see why 2500 girls rush every year. However, greek life is very exclusive and lots of girls are dropped from rush the 1st day. However, greek life has the best perks AND best food.

Health & Safety: I don't go there a lot, however the wait is long and rather inconvenient when you need it. Out of the way and buses take FOREVER to get there.

Nightlife: Every night there is a full bar or frat party. Band parties every weekend, featuring local bands or famous singers (thomas Rhett and Wiz Khalifa, to name a few). Lots of shot parties, paint parties, and champagne parties. Wine Wednesday most popular night at bars. Followed by $1 yellow hammers on Monday Nights. Thursday nights are swap nights (aka freshman greek costume parties) that can be literally any theme. With over 20 frats, there is ALWAYS a party at the University of Alabama.

Computers: The wireless is fast, but it is sometimes down for maintenance.

4 College Freshman

Scholarships: Financial aid is not a problem as long as you apply very early.

Off-Campus Housing: The off-campus housing is pretty close to campus, but it is still far enough away.

University of Alabama students constantly brag about their school’s traditions and spirit, and their pride is shown throughout the town. Some say it’s the incredible education that drew them here, and others say it’s Bama football that brought them to this Southern school. But no matter what reason these students choose to come to UA, most believe it was the best choice they could have made.

After graduation, some students get a job, some further their education by going to UA’s grad school, and some even go to UA’s law school. No matter what the students decide to do with their future, they believe Bama has prepared them for it. Students advise upcoming freshmen to walk around the Quad, visit the Strip, or watch a football game to understand why so many love UA.
